Painting

I spent the weekend painting my son's bedroom.  If you all remember, we moved into this house about a year and a half ago.

We had huge plans for this house.  I mean, it's the first time we've been able to paint anything whatever color we want.

So we promised big.  We were going to paint all the rooms and it was going to be great.

HA!

We had good intentions, but as with most things, we put it off and put it off.  Oh, we painted the master bedroom and we painted the bathroom and then, well....

Can I use the cancer card here?

Ok, well, I'd like to use the cancer card because it sounds better than I was lazy.

But really, I was lazy!

Besides, I hate painting!  It's so messy.  It's so time consuming.  It's just NOT fun.

Wait....the paint stirrers are fun.  If your not stirring paint.  If you use them for other things.  That's really the only fun thing I can think of about painting.

Anyway, where was I?  Oh yeah, we painted the little mans room this weekend.  It was time.  I mean this house is covered in peach paint.  PEACH people.  It's just too much!  Besides, what boy wants peach walls?

The room looks fantastic and we went a little overboard on stuff.   We decided if we were painting he should have a new comforter.  Since we were getting a new comforter, new sheets seemed to be needed also.

After all that paint, it was decided that the room needed new lamps.

Last but not least, we bought the boy a new TV.

Like I said, WAY too much stuff was bought!

Oh well, my son is very happy and the room looks GREAT!

So, that's what I did last weekend.....

What did you do?

  1. Gotta love those paint stir sticks! I am just like you. I moved into this old house thinking that I was going to paint each and every room giving it that special touch, then I got caught-up in life. So much for me turning into Martha Stewart, ha! I'm glad you were able to do some painting and decorating over the weekend :)

  2. Oh, MY!!! Painting is not boring, I LOVE it! I love designing a "new" room, picking out the colours and feature wall, painting it and seeing it all come to life... I think it is exciting. I painted and wallpapered my daughters room and my sons room not too long ago... they look awesome (trying hard not to puff up with pride, lol)
Hers is black and silver, with pale grey base, and a hint of pink accessories .... his is brown, beige and teal.... the spare room I did last year, in lavender and grey, and my room is deep red and cream.... dining room is lemon and blue, living room is off white, with jade and turquoise shades...sounds odd, but the colours go really well together! I tend to mix up the colours myself, from leftovers or matchpots, going into a large tin of white!!! Its great because it is unique, only thing is, you have to be sure you have mixed up enough, as you would never be able to mix the same colour again!!! I then keep whats left in a "lock and lock" container (from qvc) to use for touching up later...
Wish you well with the rest of your rooms! Be adventurous! xxxxxxxxxx
