If you don't want to read the ramblings of a confused woman...please feel free to click on one of my links to the left. I'm sure those people have interesting things to say.
I had a great weekend. Remind me to tell you about our night alone in a hotel room with a jacuzzi tub, bubbles and chinese food. Also, remind me to tell you about the spanking I got on Friday. (Yes, Virginia, spanking does exist!)
Today is not a good day. I'm very low and I can't shake it. I have so much to be thankful for and yet I have to make the most important decision I've ever had to make. Everyone is getting on my nerves and I feel like I might break down in tears any second. I have no one to talk to right now. Even if I did, I don't know what I'd say. I feel very alone, very scared and I feel like I'm the only one that's ever had to go though this.
I KNOW....I'm not the only one. I've been to the breast cancer boards. I know there are tons of people in my exact position....but they aren't here. They are just words on a screen. I've thought of going to a support group but.......I can't. That's too social for me. I'm to nervous to attend something like that by myself. PLUS....I can't bear to hear all the horror stories. I've read them. I've seen them with my SIL.
I'm feeling sorry for myself and I think sometimes that's ok. I've earned the right to feel sorry for myself. I have a scary disease.
I know for every sad story there are 2 good ones. I'm one of the lucky ones. My cancer isn't that bad. My story is not one of the sad ones.......yet.
My story will probably never be one of the sad ones....but I get to live with the fear that it might for the rest of my days. Sure, I'll learn how to live without the fear. I know life will someday resemble something called normal. BUT, right now......I just want to wallow.
Bossman doesn't get it. The decision is simple for him. He's been so sweet to me. But one stupid comment makes me upset. Like today, I said I was just going to wait for the follow-up appointment before I made my final decision, as I have some questions I'd like to ask. He says, just as long as they don't need to look at my boob again. There isn't a need for them to look at it again......
Um.....
Well, he didn't say it to be mean...but what the hell? AM I suppose to just tell them, no don't look at my boob again? If they want to look at it again, what's it gonna hurt? I've already flashed everyone I've seen. What's the big deal? It's a boob. And now it's ugly. So who cares who looks at it?
And then I got upset and said I would just go to the rest of the appointments myself. So then he got mad and said fine, if I wanted to be like that then I could.
Then he left for work
and I cried.
I thought that writing would help me sort it out, but it's really just making me upset all over again.
I just need to make a decision and move on. But right now, I just need to wallow.
And I need my husband to hold me. Which I know he will when he comes home.
But he's not here. So........
Mondays were never good days anyway!

I hate you had such a lousy day. You have earned the right to wallow - you can't do in long or often but it's fine on occasion. Bossman is as scared and worried as you are and men usually show that by saying something that hurts our feelings or upsets us when that is not at all what they intended to.
ReplyDeleteDon't worry it won't be Monday again for days and after Bossman get home and holds you it will be much better. Until then I'm glad you came to talk to us. We can't make it better but we're here, and we love you.

Awww... girlfriend. This all sucks. You wallow all you want. And then.. when you are all wallowed out, pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and make your decision. It's yours to make. Follow your heart. Follow your head. Follow whichever you like. It's gonna be okay.
ReplyDeleteI hope you told him when he came home that you needed to be held very, very tightly.
ReplyDeleteAnd good luck in dealing with this and want to wish you the best of luck in dealing with such a difficult situation.
And like Connie said, feel free to wallow and follow your heart.

I despise Mondays. I have asked my employer to just do away with them.
ReplyDeleteSweetie you may not realize it now, but wallowing is the way you work through this, so wallow all you want. It's just a part of the process, and you are coping like a real champ!
I for one am very proud of you, and I can't tell you how much I admire you. You are a very brave girl!
Lots of Love!
(soft)Huggs!
