I seem to always have good intentions, but they never get me very far if I don't act on them!
You would think that having a week home without the little man would result in some fabulous spanking stories.
You would think....
You would think I would have had some great sex that week also.
You would think....
Instead, the wild child was home all week sick. Any time that Bossman and I had together was outside the house and not really appropriate for sex or spanking.
Oh well, life is what happens when your busy making plans. (Or something like that...)
On a completely unrelated note...
What kind of dog food do you use?
Our dog is getting skin rashes and a friend suggested that it was the food. I admit, I buy the crap at walmart. I feel bad now! Poor thing. I should be feeding her the good stuff! So, what is the good stuff? I've searched online and there is such a wide variety that it made my head spin. I can't figure out which website is telling me the truth and which just wants me to buy their stuff.
So help a girl (and a dog) out....what kind of food should I feed her?

I would ask your vet what they recommend. I know some dogs have reactions to the good stuff or won't eat. I feed my three dogs Kibbles and Bits. You need to figure out what ingredient your dog is allergic to and then just find a brand that doesn't have it. Does the food have cheese in it? Try a brand without, if its chicken try a beef. etc. Good luck...

We buy the stupid-expensive Science Diet (for sensitive stomachs) food at PetSmart that our vet recommended. There is probably one that is appropriate for dogs allergic to practically everything, but if you don't want to go to the vet and ask, buy a couple different small packages and see what happens. :)

I feed my dog dry food only, she has a complete dry dog food that has all nutrients for good health, apparently! And then I pour about an eggcup full of liquid on it to make it smell appetising! She has come to expect that now, and if I put the food down without that, she sniffs the bowl, then sits down politely, waiting for me to do it!!! If we are having a roast joint, I pour a little of the juices from it on her dry biscuits; if fish, then a little of the water it was poached in, etc...
ReplyDeleteShe is 11 years old now, and has had this food since she was 3 months; it has always agreed with her.
It may be trial and error, finding a good food that suits her digestive system.
If it is just a skin problem, it may be that you could give her a supplement like a cod liver oil capsule as well as her usual food?

(Heh heh, you can tell dog people...first concern is for the dog, not the fact that you had a whole week of sex and spanking scuppered by a sick child!!!!! Sorry you didn't get to have fun as you had hoped...)
I wouldn't change anything until I talked to the vet. There are many, many things that cause skin problems. When I worked for the vet, food allergies were pretty rare in dogs. I bet it's something else.

I found the site extremely helpful.
Any food from a petfood store would be better than something you buy at Wal-Mart. I agree there is a staggering variety. But whatever food you decide to switch to, you must do it gradually, mixing just a little of the new food in with the old, then gradually increasing the proportion of new to old, over a two week period.

Since I'm not a dog person, I'll start right out with sympathy for the week of spanking and sex you lost due to a sick child. And being an iPad person, I hope you used the extra time to play with it!
ReplyDeleteYou seem to have the same luck S and I have with our kids... we had one week this summer when our son went to my parents house for nearly a month.... and daughter left for a week for camp... they were all fine... I got sick!! Go freaking figure!!!
