Happy Day!

Today is my son's 9th birthday.

Wow...he's nine? It seems like yesterday when I was big as a house, waiting for him to be born.

Now, he's a 3rd grader. He's smart, funny, beautiful, (but don't call him that to his face because boys can't be beautiful).

He smells like wet puppy when he comes inside after a hard day of playing.

He loves nature and all things environmental.

He loves to read.

He has the temper of a red head, and the heart of an angel.

When he was born, one of the popular songs playing on the radio was about praying for someone like you.

I think the lyrics went like this:

All my life, I prayed for someone like you,
and I thank God, that I finally found you.

All my life, I prayed for someone like you,
and I hope that you feel the same way too.

Now, I know that is a love song, but I was in love. Utterly, hopelessly, in love. He was such a gift and I am so happy that God gave him to me.

It really is a privilege to raise this child.

I'm so grateful for the past nine years and I can't wait to see what the future holds for my son.

Happy Birthday Little Man!

Mommy loves you very, very much!

  1. Happy Birthday to the little man!!!I love your discription of him. He is at such a wonderful age, sweet, innocent - and you are the love of his life!

Randy Travis' song "I'm goin' Love You Forever" was the song I remember listening to when I was pregnant with LJ. Several year later I heard it again and became so emotional I burst into tears. Later that day I found our Mollie was on the way!

  6. I love my girls to pieces but always wondered what it would be like to have a son. Maybe someday I'll be blessed with a grandon. That would be just as good. Anyhow, you are blessed. Hug him tight tonight!
