It's hard to find things to be thankful for when life is so hard. I've felt the urge to stay in my shell. I don't want to face the world right now, for the world seems cruel and sad. Dealing with D's stuff has forced me to think about my own mortality and I don't like it!
But....in the midst of all this turmoil there are things to be thankful for. There are plenty of J's to be thankful for. Just thinking about being thankful makes me feel a little better about the world. For even when the world seems cruel and sad, there are things to be thankful for.
J: My son's name starts with the letter J. He's such a good boy. He's handsome and sensitive. He smells like a dirty dog when he's been playing hard. He's messy and unorganized and smart. If you walked into his classroom, you would be able to pick out his desk in an instant. It would be the one with paper on the floor, books shoved in any which way and jackets and backpacks shoved under it. He's the Peanut equivalent of Pig Pen and I love him to death. He is passionate about cats. When he has time and has someone to take him, he will go to the Humane society to pet the cats. He is caring and loving and the world is a better place with him in it. (Can you tell I love this kid???)
Jelly beans: With Easter just around the corner, you can't get away from Jelly Beans. Oh I love them. Jelly Bellys are the best.
Jesus: Well when one thinks of mortality, one tends to think of where they will end up when their time comes to leave the world. I happen to believe in Jesus. Sure, not everyone believe in Jesus. But I do. 'Nuf said.
Jokes:A blonde and a both jump off a cliff at the same time. Which one will hit the bottom first? The brunette, because the blonde has to ask for directions.
Q: What do you do if a blonde throws a grenade at you?
A: Pull the pin and throw it back.
Juice: I always start the day with Orange Juice. I love it.
Junk food: I am a junk food junkie. I love cookies, cake, chips. I'm not big on candy bars, but just about anything junk foodish is good with me.
One of the LA gang starts with J. I am very grateful for the LA gang and I really am grateful for J!
In order to keep things light and fun, I found one of my favorite songs from Sesame Street. This originally aired in 1971. Oh my. Things were a lot simpler back then.
Enjoy this J day! I'm certainly going to try!
Great list lovely one. I can just picture your son!
ReplyDeleteBe gentle with yourself while you're feeling like this. M keeps telling me I can only support others if I make sure I look after me. I've learned he's right.
love and hugs xxx
Grace we are a lot alike. When I hurt or am confused I retreat into my shell. It feels comfortable there but eventually you have to come out to the same problems that drove you there in the first place. You and Bossman are so good together. Just keep leaning on each other.
ReplyDeleteAbout your son - yeah I got the idea you liked him about 30 seconds after I knew you existed.
I like your list - jelly beans, little bits of bliss.
I love you!
