A love letter

Happy Birthday Babe!

Remember the day we met? We were at the roller rink and I asked you to skate with me.

Did you think that we would be together forever?

It's weird to think about that time. We were both teens, not knowing the ways of the world. We had no idea what we were going to do with our lives.

So here we are, older, wiser (I hope) and still full of love.

I can't imagine where my life would have gone without you in it.

I can't imagine life without the wildchild and the little man. Without you, they wouldn't be possible.

Thank you for taking care of me, for loving me and for blessing me with your soul and your heart.

I love you Sweetheart!

(since I can't figure out how to post a song on my blog, you'll just have to read the lyrics!)

if there were no words
no way to speak
i would still hear you
if there were no tears
no way to feel inside
i'd still feel for you

and even if the sun refused to shine
even if romance ran out of rhyme
you wuld still have my heart until the end of time
you're all i need, my love, my Valentine.

all of my life
i have been waiting for
all you give to me
you've opened my eyes
and shown me how to love unselfishly

i've dreamed of this a thousand times before
in my dreams i couldn't love you more
i will give you my heart
until the end of time
you're all i need, my love, my Valentine

and even if the sun refused to shine
even if romance ran out of rhyme
you would still have my heart until the end of time
'cause all i need is you, my Valentine
you're all i need, my love, my Valentine

Love always and forever,

Your wife

home at last!

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! I certainly had a great one.

Last year, I was taken to the hospital for Thanksgiving, in an ambulance. Not so fun. Boy am I thankful that I was able to enjoy Thanksgiving without being sick.

This year we had dinner at my house and then we went on a little trip. We went to my moms property, which is in the high desert about 4 hours from my house. Believe it or not, the best time to take a long drive is Thanksgiving night. Everybody is home sleeping off the tryptophan from the turkey.

We left the house around 5ish. We have a portable dvd player and we bought the dvd, Shrek the Third. None of us had seen this Shrek movie and we loved the other two, so we knew this would be good. Anyway, I drove the first half of the trip. The wildchild sat in the front with me and the boys sat in the back to watch the movie. When they were finished with the movie, it was time for a pee break and then we switch places and the wildchild and I watched the movie. The movie was great and the driving time went by very quickly. We actually had alot of fun.

On Friday, we took the kids to a ghost town. We saw a gun fight, rode the train and my son made a rope. We also took a little tour of the underground mine. It was a nice little trip for all of us and we had a great time.

On Saturday, we headed to Sin city. That's right, we went to Las Vegas! Bossman has a sister that lives there and we had a GREAT time. The little man took his very first rollercoaster ride on the New York, New York. Unfortunately he didn't like it all that much...LOL He said next time he would like to try a smaller coaster.

On Sunday, we spent most of the day hanging out on the strip. We had a lot of fun, but my legs were very very tired of walking. Since my moms place is only 2 hours from Vegas, we thought the trip back to her place would be a piece of cake and then on Monday we would head the rest of the way home, therefore beating all the traffic...right? WRONG! The two hour trip from Vegas to my moms turned out to be over 5 hours long. That's right, 5 hours!!!

Turns out everyone was heading home from Vegas, heading to LA. Not only that, but there was a horrific accident. We were in stopped traffic for over an hour before we got to the head of the line. We were 4 cars from the front, could see the entire accident being cleaned up in front of us, when they stopped traffic completely. Next thing we hear is the helicopter landing in front of us, on the highway, to pick up some victims. It was VERY horrible. I didn't want the little man to witness anything bad, but since we got stopped RIGHT in the front, there was no way to hide it from him. Unfortunately there were victims that didn't make it. They were in body bags, but on the side away from my sons side of the car. I don't think he saw them. The wildchild did though. It really put a damper on the situation. I was very thankful I wasn't involved in that.

The rest of the drive was still bumper to bumper and after a while we did get back to our loopy selfs. We started making up silly songs and just doing very silly things. That's what happens when you are trapped in a car, at night, for 5 hours!

After arriving at my moms, we went straight to bed. The next morning my mom took us out for breakfast and then we headed home.

Although we had a GREAT time, it certainly was nice to be home. Of course now that we made it home, the fun really begins. I had to pick up the little man from school today because he is SICK. 101 fever. Not fun! Poor kid. I'm just glad he got to enjoy our vacation before getting sick. He had the best time collecting souvenirs. The lady at the hotel even let him keep the key card from our room. He had everything pack up to show his friends today and then before he could share it all, he got sick. My poor little man.

Well, that's all to report. Since there were children ever present, there were no spanking to be had. I'm hoping that this sad report will be resolved soon, as I could really use some spankin' time.

I'll leave you with some pics from our vacation. Enjoy!

This is part of the gun fight.
Robbers got shot
Roller coaster as seen from hotel room.

As promised....

As promised, this the the bath brush that Bossman bought. Or as I like to call it the...

Dreaded Beast!

As you can probably tell, it definitely lives up to it's name!

Now, I totally don't want to get in between her and her, but I am seriously considering sending one of these brushes to Nick and Adam. Seems to me that if one of them is going to have to pick 3 items, this might just do the trick for one of them. Plus, then I would feel like I was contributing to the whole contest.

But, I don't want in the middle...no sir ree!

So, anyway, I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving. I'll be having turkey day at my house, but after dinner we are going on a road trip! Hooray!

We'll be heading to the high desert and also to Las Vegas! I probably won't be around until Tuesday!

Everyone have a safe and happy weekend!

Love you all,
grace

Ok, I admit it!

I've been getting spanked!

Don't you just love when your man gets all toppish and dommy on you? (are toppish and dommy words?)

All I know, is my bottom is a wonderful shade of red and nice and tender to the touch.

Sunday night the kids spent the night and friends. Suddenly, I was home alone. I was cruising around reading my favorite blogs and lurking around the blogsphere when I realized something.

When Bossman gets home, we will be alone.

Hhhhmmmmm......

What to do, what to do?

Since I was reading some of my favorite spanking blogs, you KNOW what was on my mind. But frankly, was I in the mood?

HELL yeah! I was definitely in the mood.

Should I ask for it? Or should I wait until he reads my mind? He's never been that good at reading my mind, but I've never been good at asking for what I want either.

Oh sure, he can read my moods like an open book. But knowing when I want a spanking, well, he hasn't quite gotten the hang of that yet!

But maybe he has!

So, do I ask?

Nope!

Lucky for me, he read my mind anyway!

Now.....have any of you seen the lovely little back brush that they sell at wal-mart for about 3 bucks?

I'd show you a picture, but I'm way to lazy to do that now and I really want to post the tonight so I'll have to post a pic later. BUT, if you want to see this thing in person, just had to the health and beauty aisle at your local wal-mart and look for the very mean looking bath brush. You'll know it when you see it.

Anyway, did I mention that last week, Bossman accidentally on purpose, put one of those brushes in our cart.

Yeah.

In our cart.

Now, it's in our bathroom.

It hasn't quite made it into the shower.

It has made it's mark on my buttockal area. (is buttockal a word?)

So, after a nice warm up with his hand, he decided to use the dreaded beast. (Thats the nickname I've given it.)

Doesn't feel so good coming down........

Lovely afterwards though.

In case you wanted to know.

Needless to say, Sunday night was wonderful. There was spanking, there was sex. There was spanking and sex. Mmmmmm.....yummy.

So, let me tell you about last night. Just in case any of you have virgin eyes, this part might get a little rated x on ya. I'm blushing just thinking about it.

Last night, I was acting a little crazy. I had a lot on my mind and I was cranky with just about everyone. Bossman pulled me into the bedroom after we said good night to the kids.

Now, I knew that I wasn't getting a spanking. That doesn't happen when kids are home. Our bedrooms are WAY too close together for us to even risk it.

So, he pulled me into the bedroom and pulled down my pants. Still, I knew this was not going to be a spanking.

Then he pulled me over his knee. I still knew this wasn't going to be a spanking. Sometimes he does this as a warning. Personally, I think it's SEXY.

So, I'm over his knee and he starts talking. He tells me that I need to change my attitude and he tells me what will happen if I don't. He tells me that tomorrow (today) he will be giving me what I deserve, but for tonight he just wanted to remind what what it looked like in that position. (Like I forgot or something, heh.)

But you know what?

So, are you still waiting for the x-rated part?

Well, after his little lecture, I thought we were done. But next thing I know, his fingers started walking. Yep, they did.

Soon they were taking a walk down the wild side. Oh man did they ever.

After patting my bottom and squeezing it and touching it...Oh yummo... his fingers started darting in and out of the yummy hole.

Don't pretend that you don't know what I'm talking about. You know you do.

So anyway, he basically started making love to me with his fingers.

OH. MY. GOD!

Why didn't anyone tell me how fantastic this is? Do you KNOW how submissive that made me feel? I felt so dirty and naughty and oh-so fantastically sexy.

Remember, I'm still over his knee. My pants are still down around my ankles. And he is fucking me with his fingers. That's right, I said the "f" word.

I thought I had died and gone to heaven.

After much squirming around his lap, I finally had the big "O". And NO, I'm not talking about Oprah!

Then, he flipped me up on to the bed and pulled down his pants and fucked my brains out!

THERE, I said it! He fucked my brains out.

So, you know it was good.

It was REAL good!

Now, just so you know, for all you detail whores, I DID get that spanking today.

With the dreaded beast.

GOD, I love my husband!

A diva was born

Seventeen years ago today, at 2:30 in the afternoon my life changed forever.

You burst on the scene, like the diva you are, and of course, the attention was immediately on you. If anyone knows how to make an entrance, you do.

As quickly as you entered my life, they whisked you away.

4 hours later, I was properly introduced.

You were a scrawy little thing. Red and yellow are the colors that I think of when thinking of you at that time. But to me, you were the most beautiful thing on the planet. I introduced myself to you, as usual, you weren't that interested. You were already trying to figure out how to get the most attention.

Turns out, you were the only princess born that day. Turns out, you were MY princess.

The next day we got to know each other. You settled into the world, content to know that everyone around you was going to meet your needs. You already knew that you were in control. I didn't mind.

While in the nursery, a children's school class was having a field trip. They peered through the window, hoping to catch a glimpse of a newborn diva. Lucky for them, you were there.

The nurse held you up to the window for everyone to see. Your first of many, public appearances. I should have known then that you would always steal the spot light.

Looking back, I remember looking down at you and wondering, what will she look like? What will she like doing? What will her talents be? How will she, change my world?

Now, I look at you and wonder, how did I get so lucky as to have such a wonderful person in my life? I didn't know, the day that you were born, what a wonderful person you would be. I didn't know you would be such a great big sister. I didn't know you would have such a talent for music and singing.

So, on this very special day, the anniversary of the day I met you, I would like to say......

I love you.

You will make a mark on the world. You have already made a mark on me. As you grow and move on to adulthood remember......Our family would not be complete without you.

Happy Birthday Wildchild!

Love Mom

very sad news....

Please join me in remembering a great icon of the entertainment community. The Pillsbury Dough boy died yesterday of a yeast infection and trauma complications from repeated pokes in the belly. He was 71.

Doughboy was buried in a lightly greased coffin. Dozens of celebrities turned out to pay their respects, including Mrs. Butterworth, Hungry Jack, the California Raisins, Betty Crocker, the Hostess Twinkies, and Captain Crunch. The grave site was piled high with flours.

Aunt Jemima delivered the eulogy and lovingly described Doughboy as a man who never knew how much he was kneaded. Doughboy rose quickly in show business, but his later life was filled with turnovers. He was not considered a very smart cookie, wasting much of his dough on half-baked schemes. Despite being a little flaky at times he still was a crusty old man and was considered a positive roll model for millions.

Doughboy is survived by his wife Play Dough, two children, John Dough and Jane Dough, plus they had one in the oven. He is also survived by his elderly father, Pop Tart.

The funeral was held at 3:50 for about 20 minutes.

The View, spanking, sex and rain, in that order, I think.

I've got numerous things going on in my brain right now. I know you all are just dying to hear the spanking details. Heh. That is not the most important thing in the world right now! What is wrong with you people...is that all you think about? Spanking, spanking, spanking??? ~sigh~

Actually, if your lucky, I may end this post with spanking details. But first, I saw something on the View that made me think.

I know, me thinking, it's always a dangerous thing.

Anyway, On the View, they were talking about men taking care of women. More specifically they were talking about men taking the active duty of taking care of the woman. Sherri Shepard alluded to the idea that if she had a man (she's going through divorce) that she would expect the man to take care of her. For instance, if there was a robber in the middle of the night, she would expect the man to take care of her. She said she would be pissed if she had to step up and take care of herself if her man was there and didn't take care of her.

Of course, I totally agree with Sherri. I expect Bossman to take care of me. Protect me. And, I know that he would!

The rest of the panel did NOT agree with her. They argued that she should never expect someone else to take care of her, she should be able to take care of herself.

Ok, I can agree that we should be able to take care of ourselves. Our men may not be there when something bad happens...that's a given.

BUT!

If I am with Bossman and something bad happens, I expect him to take care of me to the best of his abilities. I believe that MEN should take care of women!!!!

What is wrong with that? Why is it wrong to expect MEN to take care of women? Whenever there is a disaster it's always, women and children first...right???

Maybe it's because in todays society women are not suppose to be treated as the weaker sex. To admit that we want and need a MAN to take care of us, makes us weak. Women should never admit to being weak....you know womens rights movements and all that stuff.

Well, I admit it. I'm weak. I want my man to take care of me. If you want to look down on me for being weak and pitiful, that's ok because I know that if I had to, I could take care of myself. But guess what...I don't have to!

Speaking of taking care of me.....

Bossman took care of me on last Sunday and then again on Thursday!

Yummy, yummy, yummy are the words I would use to describe it.

See, there hasn't been a lot of action around here lately. Things just seems to be out of sorts and quite frankly, we have gotten into a bad rut. Same ole' thing, different day, were pretty much the way we have been living our lives.

Also, there has been this pesky little problem of not having a libido lately either. That definitely puts a damper on things in the bedroom, if you know what I mean.

So, back to Sunday.

The little man and the wildchild were both at friends houses, they had spent the night. I thought that we would MAYBE have some fun on Saturday night, I mean, empty house and all. But no, we were still in our rut! We hung out with friends and then, like the ole' fogeys that we are, we came home, watched TV and went to bed.

So the next morning, we got up and, like most Sundays, watched football and Nascar. Woo wheeee! Fun, fun, fun!

But never fear, we have a DVR. These are such handy little devices that really make TV watching much more enjoyable. You can pause or record programs and then when you do watch the program you can FAST FORWARD commercials! (we hate commercials!)

So, about mid-morning, Bossman sets the DVR to record the race.

Next thing I knew I was being led to the bedroom. I had a feeling sex wasn't on his mind. Ok, sex is ALWAYS on his mind, but I think he had something he wanted to accomplish before the sex.

Although just a half hour before I was thinking about how we missed a perfectly good spanking time, I wasn't quite prepared to actually receive one.

But I did. And it was GREAT! It was a little hard but he didn't let up, even when I whined and cried about it. After it was over, my buns were nice and toasty.

We didn't finish up with some lovin' due Bossman having a prior commitment, but GOD, did I ever get horny after that. What is it about toasty buns that does that to me? I haven't been much in the mood for anything related to sex for a while, so this was quite a shock. Needless to say, as soon as Bossman got home, I was ready to jump his bones!

I didn't get to jump his bones at that moment, but we had some very long, very sexy kisses. We haven't kissed like THAT for awhile. It was very yummy and oh-so sexy.

We did manage to make some time for some lovin' after the kids hit the hay. Wow, wow, wow, it was really nice and sexy. And believe it or not, the next day I was still horny, go figure.

So, we must have has sex almost every day last week. I think that was a new record for us.

Thursday, he had me squirming over his lap, once again. How lucky did I get to have two spankings in one week?

Bossman has concluded that our sex life is much better if we include spanking. How he came to that conclusion, I'm not sure, but I have to agree with him there.

Unfortunately all good things must come to an end. Sunday we were all a bit cranky and I'm afraid we had one of those really dumb fights. You know, the ones where you both say something stupid and both get really angry for no reason other than the fact that someone said something that wasn't worded "just right?"

Yeah, one of THOSE fights.

Don't worry. We seem to be moving back to the right direction. Bossman has said he is going to start spanking more. Even going so far as to mention some of the weapons we hold in our arsenal.

I hate to get my hopes up, cuz we've been here before. But it is lovely to think and dream about.

Meanwhile......

Did I mention that it rained here on Saturday? Big, big news in these parts, (remember anything remotely resembling a puddle is news) because it really helps the firefighters with the fires.

Oh, and it might rain tonight too! I must stay up and watch the 11 news, for they are sure to put the news lady out in front of the station with her rain coat on!!!

Big news, I tell ya, BIG, big news.

Fires

Although the news would make you think that the entire state of California is on fire, we are not.

I will say though, there is a whole lot of smoke and ash in the air.

Remember a couple of posts ago when I said it was a huge deal when we got rain??

I wasn't lying! This has been the driest year in history for California. That, along with the Santa Ana winds, makes for nasty, nasty fires!

The wind has been blowing hot, hot, hot and the air has felt very thick and heavy. Not your typical California weather.

As for me and mine, we are fine. We are used to dealing with ashy air and smoke plumes in the distance. Lucky for us they are in the far distance.

Thank you for the e-mails! I feel so blessed that so many of you were worried for us! It didn't dawn on me that anyone would worry. But never fear, I'm still around!

If there are any out there that are reading this that are truly affected please know, I am praying for you.

As for the rest of you.......

I got a spankin', I got a spankin'!

HUGS!

Worst parent award

I finally did it. I managed to win the worst parent award. I knew it would happen someday. I worked really hard at it too.

I embarrass my children in public all the time.

I always stay in bed until the last minute and feed my children cold cereal instead of a hot nutritious breakfast.

I wear my pj's to the school to drop them off.

I love to sing to the songs in the grocery store, just to embarrass my kids.

I'm sure my kids would be able to tell you more of the more horrible things I do but we don't need to go there, besides, those are NOT what won me the award.

Here is what won me the award.

My son, he is nine. He is at the age where you are not quite sure if he believes in such things as the tooth fairy or Santa or Easter bunny. He won't admit that he doesn't believe, he still says he believes, but the look in his eye sort of tells you that he probably is just humoring his old parents.

So, last week, he lost a tooth. Now last week wasn't one of my best weeks. I was feeling ill, lots of things were happening and so as it happens.....

The tooth fairy forgot to leave money under his pillow!!!!

So, we fake it and say, well, you lost the tooth last night, maybe she just didn't have enough time to stop by here...try again tonight.

Only the tooth fairy, didn't get the memo and forgot to stop by AGAIN!

How could this happen?? How could we forget two nights in a row??

To add insult to injury, he left the tooth fairy a note. I didn't know about the note until the second day.

It was a sweet little note. It said: Dear Tooth Fairy, How are you? I know this isn't my first tooth, but I was wondering how many teeth do you have? How does my tooth look? Does it have any cavities? Please write back. Love, The little man.

OH-MY-GOD!

Now what do I do? I do what any guilty feeling parent would do.

I write a letter to my son from the tooth fairy.

Dear Little Man,

I am terribly sorry that I did not get here on the night you lost your tooth. There were so many children that lost their tooth I was unable to reach them all in the same night.

As you can imagine, those teeth can get pretty heavy. I probably have over a million teeth that I have collected over the years.

I am happy to report that your tooth looks GREAT! It is very shiny and white and I am happy to add it to my collection.

Again, I am very sorry for the delay in getting here. Next time I will put your name at the top of the list. Until then, keep taking such excellent care of your teeth! Brushing and flossing will keep those teeth nice and shiny.

Love,

The Tooth Fairy

I found a very special header that had stars and said the Tooth Fairy and looked very official.

Of course we left money too.

But, the reason I win the award is because I think he has finally connected that Mom and Dad are the tooth fairy. I don't think we fooled him. I think he tried to test the waters and see for himself if she was real by leaving the note and I think she let him down.

~sigh~

He got the letter and read it, but he didn't seem overly excited about it. He finally crossed the threshold into the land of the real and I'm very sad about that.

I KNEW that he would get to this point. But I was hoping his innocence would last a little bit longer.

Well, I guess I'll go wallow in the baby books and lament about how big my kids are getting.

I might want to send back the santa suit too. ~sigh~

My child, the Senior

So, you all know that my wildchild is a senior in high school. Seriously, I'm not sure why you call didn't warn me about the cost, but PLEASE... I just keep my checkbook open and have checks already written to her school so I can save time when the next thing pops up.

Lets see, lets start with Senior portraits. YIKES! Why does it cost so much to take a picture??? Granted, she looks like a super model, but STILL! I had to shell out a couple hundred bucks for these pictures, she better look like a super model. Of course now we've been staring at these pictures for 2 weeks trying to decide which ones we want and which one will go in the year book. It's a tough choice when every picture is beautiful.

Yesterday she came home with another lovely packet to sort through. This packet is for the cap and gown. You would think this would be a fairly simple process, right?

WRONG! There are 3 packages to choice from. Everything from key chains to bling bling tassles. Oh, and these packages are anywhere from 60 to 100 bucks. HEH, that's just for the cap and gown.

Next, Senior announcements. The cheapest packet of those is 130 bucks. You only get 20 announcements. Oh, you also get the thank you cards and little name thingies and all kinds of things that we don't really need.

The part that bugs me is they only gave us 3 days to decide what it is we want. It's a lot to look and absorb and try and figure out. And why is it that I start looking at that stuff and I want to cry? I can't believe she is going to graduate. It's seems very surreal. I've been raising her all this time and now I feel like time is running short. Unlike Theresa I'm not worried about her leaving right away. She is probably going to the junior college we have here in town and who knows what she will do from there. But still, I know how awesome your senior year in high school is and I want her to cherish every moment of it. I know I am.

I will brag on the wildchild for a minute though. She got her first report card and she's got a 3.0 GPA. This is the first report card since probably 6th grade that she didn't get a D or an F on it. YIPPEE! She's been working really hard to keep those grade up and she has even had to take night classes because she is behind credits and won't graduate if she doesn't make these credits up. So she's been going to school in the day, getting home at 3:30 and then going straight to the other school campus to take her other classes. She takes those in a computer lab. Usually she gets home around 7. Makes me tired just watching her go, go, go!

Sad thing is, they have canceled all the plays for this semester and possibly for the rest of the year. I'm not sure why, but it's really sad, especially for the seniors as this is their last chance. She is really hoping they will have one for the spring semester. For her sake, I hope so.

Since I'm bragging I might as well brag about the little man. His teacher has informed me that he is the "big idea" kind of kid. He doesn't care about the details but he sees the big picture. He is very bright and he is a joy to have in the classroom. (his teachers words, not mine)

Now, I don't like to compare my kids, because thats like comparing apples and oranges, but I do like getting those kind of reports from my son. Never gotten reports like that before. Maybe he will be the "scholar" of the family.

So there you have it, my wallet, she is slowly being drained by my senior. My son is the big idea guy.

What more could I ask for? (A money tree would be nice)

Happy Birthday Paul!

Dear Paul,

It's been a privilege and an honor to consider you a friend. You are kind, considerate and compassionate. You always have words of wisdom and never have a negative word to say. Getting a comment from you is like getting the whiff of a sweet rose or having the sun shining warmly on your face.

I hope you have the best birthday ever! You deserve everything you get in life and more. I am honored that you stop by and visit.

Love and big HUGS!

Hello!

I would officially like to welcome you all to my blog. My blog has been around for about 3 1/2 years. My blog is a mixed bag of everything you can think of. I've got stories about spanking (you have to look hard, but they are there, I swear!). I've got stories about kids (ahhhh, gotta love 'em.). And I've got stories about my life in general. As a matter of fact, if you look down to the last 2 posts you can find out how my mother-in-law changed from a christian to a muslim.

Believe me when I say, this is all very, very interesting! (Not really, but you ARE reading this, right??)

Anyway, in honor of De-lurking day, I invite you to leave me a comment. You don't have to leave a name, you don't have to leave anything but a "Hi".

If you still don't feel brave enough to do it, that is fine too! I'll still write when I can and when I can think of something interesting to write about. So feel free to stop by anytime!

As to those who come by regularly, thank you, thank you, thank you! You are insightful and encouraging and just plain fun! I LOVE you guys!

HUGS to EVERYONE!

How this all came to be

The story of the muslim grandmother gets more bizarre as I tell you HOW she came to be muslim.

About a year ago my in-laws were over at our house for a family get together. We were talking about myspace and my MIL wanted to know what all the fuss over myspace was.

My sis-in-law was over as well. She and my daughter were busy fixing up their myspace pages. I mentioned that I have a myspace. I mostly have one to keep up with some friends from my old job and more importantly, to check up on my daughter.

Anyway, my sis-in-law showed my MIL her myspace and my MIL asked if we could help her make one. AS A JOKE (ha ha, turns out the joke is on us) we decided to make her a myspace page. At the time, she didn't really know much about the internet.

After making her a cool looking page we laughed about it, and then we all made her friends. (For those that don't know about myspace, you have a friends list and you have to accept people to be your friend.)

So, after we had our fun, she asked us what she does with it now. I told her to check it every couple of days and see if anyone left her a message. We all figured that she would just leave us silly messages and we would leave silly messages for her.

Well, we underestimated my MIL. Because she doesn't work outside the home, she has a lot of time home alone. She started spending more and more time on myspace. She started looking at other peoples pages and she actually started making friends.

After a while she felt the need to have a reason for her website. So she got on the bandwagon of peace, love and harmony. Sounds good right? Her website is all about everyone getting along and choosing to love one another. As of today, she has more than 4000 people on her site as friends.

I guess through all these people she met a muslim friend. She told us that she was witnessing to him and they were learning a lot from each other. Turns out, he talked her into being muslim. Don't get me wrong, I believe she is studying up on it now. I've seen the books and so I know that she is studying it.

So, that's how she became muslim. My father-in-law is NOT muslim. He told her she can do what she wants, but she can't try and change him.

There is soooo much more to this, I can't possibly type it all out here. She has always been a difficult person to get along with. I could tell you stories of the way she treats people in the outside world and her own husband.

Frankly at this point, I just don't know WHAT we will do!

The story

So, as I said before, my mother-in-law has decided to become muslim.

Why should I care? She has the right to be whatever religion she wants..right?

Let me just say before going any further, that I am perfectly fine with people being whatever religion they want. I believe in the right to worship what ever and whomever you want. I say, to each his own.

With that being said.....

I am having a VERY hard time with this!!! I think this would make me a hypocrite. Am I really a hypocrite? Do I say all the politically correct things, but in my heart I don't mean them???

How can this be? I've never thought I was THAT person!

I can't help it! I can't help feeling this way. I think I have very valid reasons for feeling the way I do. But I can't help feeling bad for the way I feel.

In all actuality I don't know HOW I'm suppose to feel.

Anybody want to help me with this?

Heres the scoop.....

My MIL grew up in a very strict christian home. She raised her 3 children in a very strict christian home. Very bible thumping. Bossman wasn't allowed to have a normal childhood. He couldn't spend the night at others homes, he couldn't play sports in high school or go to dances or football games. He couldn't even go to the movies and thought that if he did he would be struck by lightning.

Lucky for him, I showed him that God would not strike us with lightning if we went to the movies.

As it turns out, Bossman has resentments about the things he missed out on as a teen.

The same woman that put all that stuff in his head, has now turned her back on this religion????

Furthermore, what do I tell my children? I'm mostly worried about the 9 year old, as he is the one that questions everything and he is the one we are still trying to raise as a christian. Obviously the almost 17 year old is old enough to make her own decision.

The biggest and most worrisome problem is that her political views are WAY, WAY off what Bossman and I believe. Again, everyone is allowed their own opinion on politics. BUT, when I leave my 9 year old to spend the night, please don't tell him that the Americans blew up the world trade center. PLEASE!

You can believe that if you want. Since this is not a political blog and I hate talking politics, I won't go into whether I believe that is true or not. But I will say this, IF, and I am saying this hypothetically, IF I did believe that the americans blew up the world trade center I would NOT tell THAT to a 9 year old.

Did I forget to mention, my MIL apparently has NO common sense! Doesn't seem obvious that you wouldn't say that to your 9 year old grandson? Because if you were to say that to him, what do you think he's going to worry about??? How about coming home and asking mom what she thinks the americans will blow up next? How about worrying about whether the americans will blow up his town?? How about THAT????

So, what are my options?

Do I keep the kids away from their grandparents? That seems a little harsh, but I can't trust her to use common sense.

Do I now have to study up on muslim so when my kids ask me questions I can answer them intelligently?

See, we are raising our kids christians. When they become adults they can make their own decisions but right now, it's my right and obligation to raise them the way I see fit. I would never tell my children they can't play with someone that is a different religion then them, but then again, I would be able to explain that they are being raised different. To me, that's not a problem.

The problem is, their GRANDMOTHER is a HUGE influence on them. She has always been a huge influence on them religious wise. It wasn't that long ago that my kids couldn't wait to go to church so they could sit by grandma. Grandma would sing with the wildchild in church almost every week. I mean, in front of the church.

So, what is the right course of action? My instinct is to limit their time with her and not let her be alone with them without my husband or I there. Amazingly enough, she doesn't say inappropriate things when we are there. She knows better. But she thinks that because she is the grandma she has the right to say whatever she wants to her grandchildren. I don't think she has that right! AM I right??

I don't know if I'm right. Bossman and I don't really know what we should do. He is VERY upset that his mom has done this. After everything she put him through, he doesn't understand this.

We've talked long and hard about it. We haven't figured out anything yet. Funny thing is, she's told everyone else in the family...including our kids, but she hasn't "officially" told us. She knows it's not going to be pretty when she does.

So...What would you do, dear readers, if this was happening to you??

Off to read up on muslims........

Say what???

My very strict christian mother-in-law decides to become muslim!

Story at 11........

blah

I'm in a blogging funk. I don't have anything funny or witty to say. I don't have anything important to say in comments. I'm in "blah" land.

Life itself is fine. Everyone is fine. The little man is back to football. The wildchild is busy, busy, busy, being a senior and taking extra night classes to make up for classes previously failed. Bossman is busy at work and I, well, I am busy being babysitter to the worlds cutest baby.

But that doesn't leave me anything to blog about. I log into blogger almost every day. I have great titles to new posts. Great titles.

I got nothing after the title.

Spanking hasn't really happened around here. Life just doesn't seem to be making it happen for us. Thats ok.

So, what to talk about.........

I could talk about the weather. The weather report yesterday said it would be cool, hot, cool, hot. What the heck kind of weather is that? Frankly, California has the most boring weather. Don't get me wrong. It's usually very nice. Matter of fact, I don't own a winter coat. My winter coat is a flannel jacket. Mittens? What are those? Boots? Nah, I'll just wear my tennis shoes, thank you.

Actually, if it starts raining in California, it's a massive news story....

Welcome to the 6'00 news and Storm Watch 08'. Today it was raining all the along the coast. Lets join Sonya on location, Sonya?

Thanks Drew! I'm Sonya Summerview and I am out in the rain. Well, it isn't raining at this exact moment, but it could actually start raining again any second.

That's right, it actually got the roads wet today. If we pan the camera down, we will see the first puddle of Storm Watch 08'. Wow, can you believe the size of the puddle? It's at least 5 inches in diameter. People have been coming from miles away to see the first puddle of Storm Watch 08'. If the "rain" keeps up, this puddle could multiply. We could see puddles of this magnitude all over the region.

blah blah blah....That's the weather in California. B-o-r-i-n-g!

I miss having seasons. I miss the cold weather. Do you know that 2 christmases ago it was 80 degrees on Christmas eve? I was baking christmas cookies in a tank top and shorts. There is no such thing as packing away your summer clothes for the winter.
I know I shouldn't complain. In the summer it's 75 and in the winter it's 70.

See, told you I had nothing to write about.

Told you!

H-M-O, Hell's medical options...

Guess what??

The little man did NOT break his elbow!

This after countless hours on the phone and at the doctors, trying to get him in to see a specialist because NOBODY seemed to be able to read the x-rays.

Ok, they can read x-rays, but they couldn't see if there was a crack or not because of the swelling. There wasn't much swelling on the outside, but they showed me a black spot on the x-ray where the fat came away from the bone. They tell me this is probably blood pooling up in there causing a bruise. We took another x-ray a week later and the black spot is almost gone and they don't see a crack.

This is all very good news, but it still hurts him, so we are keeping it in the splint for another week until we get a final x-ray determining that everything that was said was true!

Of course, if it truly is not broken then he will go back to football in a week or two! HOORAY! The whole season is not lost!

I won't even tell you the HMO horror story this time. It's long, it's boring, and frankly it was just a pain in the ass. We never did get to see the specialist, but the specialist DID look at the x-ray! HMO's SUCK!

I'm pretty sure that HMO stands for HELL's Medical Options. I'm sure if I were to travel to hell right now, I would find a room full of people sitting on the phone trying to get medical attention. Yep, this room would be the torture room and only those that were EXTRA bad would be sent to this room. You would be sent to the room for ALL eternity, on the phone, battling the doctors and the insurance companies. You would be transfered to the next available customer service rep, only to be put on hold with elevator music. Once in a while you would get the recording that says:

Your call is very important to us. Please stay on the line for the next available representative. Your call will be answered in the order it was received. Then you would hear the music. I'm all out of love, I'm so lost with out you, I know you were right for leaving me so long....

OVER and OVER again!

Listen people, I've BEEN there!!! I know what it is like on the dark side and I don't EVER want to go there again. It's BAD people, REALLY BAD!

Well that's all I've got. Stay tuned next week when we dive into the wonderful world of PPO's. Are they better or do they just cost more?

Spanking anyone??

I would like to thank all the little people for waiting out the drought with me. Without you all my life would have been mundane and boring. I would never have survived such a long time without your little stories and thoughts. You were all my inspiration for carrying on with my life without spanking. By little people I mean all of you. Of course I know you aren't little, but since I'm on top of the world looking down, you all look rather small today! HA!

So, for todays menu, we started off with a lovely shower. The shower was warm and soapy, as all good showers should be. There was plenty of scrubbing, and plenty of rubbing, in ALL the right places. One of my most absolute favorite things to do in the entire world is to have Bossman give me a shower. Bossman takes care of me from head to toe, and I just float along in a soapy, steamy haze. It is truly the one time where he is totally focused on me and me alone and I just get drunk on soap fumes.

The second course was a spanking. I feel the need to share the fact that I am on my period this week. This certainly puts a damper on the whole sex thing. So I was quite surprised by this whole morning. So anyway, back to the spanking. We were in the bedroom and I thought Bossman was going to get ready for work. Instead he sat on the edge of the bed and pulled me over his knee. ACK! Remember my virgin butt?? It's not used to getting spanked, so even the hand spanking was pretty painful. I tried to get up numerous times, but he kept me over his lap for quite awhile. Although it was hurting, I will admit, it was quite fun. For some reason the word that keeps coming to my mind is...YUMMO!

After my tush was nice and tender and warm, he flipped me over and told me that he decided I was getting a spanking and an orgasm today. Wow. Could I ask for anything more? I THINK NOT!

So, after some rather yummy rubbing and touching and sucking, dessert came and it came HARD!

Needless to say, I have a wonderful morning.....

So, what's new with you?

Just when you thought life was getting boring...

I was enjoying the ho-hum of life. I was enjoying a drama-free environment. Life was humming along at a nice pace. The kids are back in school, the wildchild is doing great and the little man is doing great in football.

Maybe I should say, WAS doing great in football.

Last night at practice, the little man fractured his elbow.

Yep, nice little fracture that takes him out of football for the remainder of the season.

~sigh~ Does it ever end?

Seems the little man fell on his elbow wrong when making a tackle. Luckily Bossman is the head coach, so he was right there when it happened. Of course I was there too. We rushed him to the Urgent Care, which of course, had a million people ahead of us. Bossman called the ER to see if they were busy, but they were super busy and suggested we just stay where we were. I think we got there at 7 and finally left at 9:45. I suppose less than 3 hours for a wait isn't TOO bad.

The fracture isn't too bad, but I need to take him to the orthopedic doc so they can take a good look at the x-ray. It hurt him a LOT when it first happened, but as we waited it seemed like the pain was going down and he seemed to be getting better, so we were hoping that they were just going to tell us he sprained it or strained it. BUT NO! After waiting 2 hours for an x-ray, they tell us it looks like a fracture.

Anyway, he seemed to sleep ok last night, and didn't ask for any pain meds until this morning. I think the most upsetting part for him is not getting to play football. When they told him it could take up to 6 weeks for it to heal, he started to cry. My poor little man. Such a tough guy when it comes to the actual injury, but broke down when he found out he can't play the rest of the season. This next game was going to be the game that all the grandparents and aunts were going to come watch him play.

~sigh~

I guess I have to dig out that nurses uniform again. If only I could get paid a nurses salary!

RANT

Ok, this is a rant about a church. Just to clarify things, I am a Christian and I go to church regularly. This rant is NOT about my church. If you feel a rant about a church will upset, please feel free to click on one of the links on the side.
Now, lets let the ranting begin...shall we???

GGGGGRRRRRR...... I am so mad I could spit! Ok, I did spit and I'm still mad!

Here's the story. You all know that my sister recently had a baby. Not that I'm biased but he is probably one of the cutest babies EVER!!! He has the cutest little cubbie cheeks. He's got the cubby baby legs....WAIT...this is NOT about how adorable my nephew is!

Ok, Let me start the rant over.

My sister is unmarried. I KNOW! Lets all be shocked at the fact that my sister had a baby out of wedlock. Things like this just don't happen in todays world...do they??

My sis also lives with the babies daddy. AGAIN, shock! Close your mouths, I know it's shocking, but it's TRUE!

Now, my sis is planning a wedding. (After reading Ambers blog, this is making me nervous) But it's not happening until next summer.

ANYWAY, stop getting me off track, I'm trying to have a rant here!

So, my sister wants to have her baby dedicated in church. Do you see where this is going???

Now, my sis is not religious. The babies daddy goes to a non-denomination type church. My sister was starting to attend with him. They planned a baby dedication. They had the date and time. They had a bbq planned for after. It was all set!

So today, my sis comes to pick up her very cute and cubby little boy. (can you tell I'm in LOVE with this baby??) She is NOT happy. She says, the dedication is off.

Apparently, this church has said she can't dedicate her baby because she is living in sin with the babies daddy. SIN people. I would like to ask any of you reading this that are perfect and without sin to PLEASE e-mail me. I would REALLY like to meet YOU!

My sis was devastated. She could care less what everyone thinks of her, but for goodness sake, do we have to take it out on the baby?? What does this mean? Her baby isn't good enough for GOD because she is living in SIN??? GGGGGRRRRR

So, I called my own church. I asked my pastor what he thought. He said he would be happy to have a baby dedication. He said that anyone that is even thinking about religion for their child is doing a good thing.

Here's the bottom line. A baby dedication doesn't get you to heaven. A baby dedication is just the parents of an innocent child dedicating themselves to trying to raise their baby with God in their life.

It isn't a life and death situation, but in that moment, when my sister looks at me with tears in her eyes and asks me, why do they have to take it out on her baby? I realized that some people just have no heart.

I've always thought that church was the place where SINNERS go. Church was a place where you weren't supposed to be judged. Church is suppose to be a safe place. I realized today that even in church, you are not safe. You are still judged. You are still criticized for the way you live your life. It's just not fair.

I don't know whether my sister will accept the offer my church has given her. Although she was happy to know that not everyone in the world would shun her or her son, I think she may decide she doesn't need it. I DO know that my sister will NOT be attending that church that shunned her.

Sometimes I hate this world. It sucks. It's mean, it's hateful and it's full of pain. Do any of you remember the Coke commercial from the 70's? They are singing...

I'd like to teach the world to sing in perfect harmony, I'd like to buy the world a coke and keep it company.

If only life could be like the commercials. We'd have hot chicks with beer, we'd have perfect harmony AND we'd all have really cute cars.

That and great b-o-l-o-g-n-a!

*shew* rant is over!

virgin butt lives on

Well, so far there has been a lot of talk and not a lot of action. My butt is still virgin and I haven't even done the laundry! ~sigh~ What's a girl gotta do (or not do) to get a spankin' around here??

Actually, truth be told, I did do the laundry. I say that because I don't want ya'll to think I don't take care of my family. Why they feel the need to have clean clothes and dinner, I'll never know.

So, now I'm off....

Off to clean??? the house? YUCK!

Believe it or not.....

Life has become mundane and boring.....

HOORAY, I'm loving it!

The wildchild got her stitches out yesterday. Her throat is great and she is back to talking on the phone all night and random singing! It's so nice to hear her singing again. She is in 2 choirs at school and she is having a GREAT time. She actually brought home a test from school that was a perfect score! I was so excited I told her I was going to put a happy face sticker on it and put it on the fridge for everyone to see!

Bossman stated today that he would like to start spanking again. He also stated that tomorrow he would start with a warm up, since I have a virgin butt! He also stated that he would like clean underwear and socks. Does this mean I have to do some laundry? HHHMmmmmmm..... I'll have to think about that one.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I am IN LOVE with watching Big Brother. Am I the only one bothered with Ambers constant praying and crying? Don't get me wrong, I pray to God. I believe in God. But I don't believe that God cares that much about Big Brother. Am I the only one that thinks that Amber is giving Christians a bad name? What is the deal with kissing that necklace of hers? Furthermore, if you happened to catch Amber on the Power of 10, how does she NOT know what scrutinize mean? I'm so sick of her crying I could just scream!

Football has started and it's off to a great start! In the first scrimmage of the season, my son, my little man, my little hunk of heaven, caught a pass! That's right, he caught a pass!

Ok, so he didn't run with it. He sort of fell on it because he didn't want to get tackled...LOL But still....HE CAUGHT it. They made about 6 yards off the play!

The first real game is this Saturday. I can't wait!

Well, that's all I've got. Like I said earlier, life has become mundane and boring. Just the way I like it!

Is there any such thing as "normal"?

The wildchild has gone back to school!

You don't know how happy this makes me. The doctor said she would have to be out all this week, but this weekend she was feeling fine. The minute she said she was bored, I KNEW she was OK!
The school is just around the corner, so if she does have a problem, I can be there in 3 minutes. I'm just so happy to see her up and about. Worrying about what to wear and how to fix her hair are things that I missed her doing. It broke my heart to see her so disappointed about not going back to school. She has been looking forward to being a senior all summer! It was just one disappointment after another.

So, finally, it looks like we are going to be normal again. (Whatever "normal" is!)

The little man is going back to school on Thursday. This is just GREAT! Seeing as how this was one of the worst summers we've ever had, I'm even MORE grateful that school is starting. I may even have to break out the back-to-school happy dance!

Bossman has made a few mentions that he might want to get back into the spanking thing. Hhhhmmmmm..... interesting! This has brought out two frames of mind.

Spanking hurts. I realize this and although it hurts, I still crave it. It still makes me feel all kinds of things that I can't explain. I LOVE feeling submissive. Spanking is the number one way to make me feel submissive. It also makes me feel more connected to Bossman. Somehow, when we incorporate spanking into our lives, our relationship is better. It's more loving. We are more in tune with each other. We seem to care more about the others feelings. We just seem to "click" better when we have spanking in our relationship.

My second thought is that having spanking in our life takes a lot more WORK! It's easy to just go about my day not worrying about things. Not worrying about making Bossman happy. I know, I should be worried about making him happy all the time, but it seems that without spanking, I just give up. I get the "who cares" attitude. I've gotten myself stuck in a rut. I don't like change. I like to know what is happening way in advance so I can plan. I want to be in control. How does a person that likes to be in control, get off on giving control to her husband?

I guess what it boils down to is this....

Relationships take work. Whether spanking is involved or not, you have to work to be happy. Not that we aren't happy, but we just aren't clicking. I guess I need spanking to put things in the right perspective.

So, I'm looking forward to starting this spanking thing again. But part of me is dreading it. Over this summer, I've gotten used to being lazy. I've been used to just doing my own thing, taking care of the kids, but not worrying about Bossman and me. With everything that has happened, we've put our relationship on the back burner. It's time to start thinking about us and our relationship. It can be so easy to get mired down in the drudgery of life. Now is the time to get out of the drudgery and start living again.

I really want to fall in love with my husband again.

Is that too much to ask?

Home Again

So, things haven't been going so great for the wildchild. Everything was fine this weekend and we thought she was on the upswing. How wrong were we??

Monday evening, the wildchild was trying to decide what outfit to wear for the first day of school. On Sunday we managed to get a few hours of shopping in, and she just wasn't sure which outfit to wear. She had planned to spend the night at her friends on Tuesday so they could all go to school together on Wed. My, my, how things change in a matter of minutes. Actually, it was a few hours later, around 11:30 when she came in and said she was bleeding again.

Now the blood wasn't nearly as severe as it was last week. Within a matter of minutes the bleeding has stopped. Since it stopped fairly soon, we decided to wait until morning and call her doctor.

At 1:00 in the morning she came back into our room to tell us the bleeding was back. It was more than earlier, but still not as much as last week. In any case we decided to take her back to the ER.

Bossman took her in. The bleeding has stopped by the time they got there, but then it started again. Around 2:30 they got it stopped, but they decided to call in a specialist. Turns out the specialists don't come in until at least 6am. Bossman and the wildchild hung out in the ER until 6. At 6 Bossman called and said to get down there for they were admitting her and taking her to surgery. They decided to put some stitches. I arrived with the little man around 6:40. By 7am she was already in surgery.

They decided to keep her in the hospital until the following day. We got home yesterday around 1:00 in the afternoon.

Apparently, her blood count went pretty low, that is why they didn't send her home after the bleeding stopped. The doc told me yesterday that if her blood count had gotten any lower they would have had to do a blood transfusion. YIKES!

Seems the area that was bleeding was bleeding more than we thought. It was pretty far back in her throat and we are assuming that it was bleeding down her throat and she didn't even know it.

Anyway, we are home now and she is doing ok. It's a lot like starting over, her throat is very sore and she isn't really talking or eating much. It's not quite as bad as the first because it is only on one side. They are hoping she will be able to start school on Tuesday.

Of course this is all if she doesn't bleed again. They did say it takes about 4 weeks or so to get your blood count back up. So she will be extremely tired and weak, possibly light-headed, for awhile. The doc said she could take iron, but that tends to make people constipated and he would rather not risk anything else happening to her right now.

The bright side to this is, they treated us like GOLD! Apparently Bossmans complaint must have made an impression. Although she does have the rep of being the girl that passes out when given an IV, as overheard in the ER.

I hope this is the last crisis we will have. The wildchild doesn't believe she will ever get better. I'm trying really hard to keep her upbeat. I don't need her getting depressed.

Now, the fun begins. I get to fight with my insurance for them to make sure and cover all this. Because this all happened here, NOT with the doc that is 50+ miles away.

All this, and I still babysit my nephew. But I've subcontracted that job out to someone else. Think my sister will mind???

Just when you thought everything was better....

Just a quick update on the wildchild.

The bleeding came back. Bossman spent the night in the hospital with her and they admitted her this morning. They put her under again, and put more stitches.

She's out of surgery now, but it looks like we are back to square one. She WILL stay in the hospital today and tonight and probably come home tomorrow.

Unfortunately this means no school for her. Maybe next week if we are lucky!

Will update further later!

Thanks for any and all prayers and good wishes, my baby could use them.

HUGS!

Random thoughts

Most of you know that Eva is having her surgery today. I have been thinking of her a lot. Surgery is such a scary thing. The doctors have to tell you every bad thing that could possibly go wrong. How are you suppose to relax and not worry when you have to think of all the bad stuff? Luckily, I've been over to PK's blog. She says that Eva is already out of surgery and is doing fine. I knew she would be fine, but you can't help but worry.

My baby has spoken her first words and eaten solid foods this weekend! Why do I have a feeling that I should be writing that in her baby book??

She is finally doing better. She hasn't had any bleeding since the whole "incident". The ER director is suppose to call Bossman today to discuss what happened in the ER. Bossman relayed the story to the administration and they said the director would be calling Bossman. It's not that we are stupid. We realize that there were probably worse off people in the ER that night. I just don't like the ho-hum attitude that everyone seem to have. We didn't go there that night to buy toilet paper. Whenever someone goes to the ER, they obviously think they have a problem. It would be nice to have a little compassion. At least tell us that it's not that bad. Don't ignore the obvious blood. And don't get me started on the doctor. Since when do we take the word of a stranger and trust them to do what is best? Isn't it our job as a parent to make sure our child is getting the best treatment possible? Don't make us feel like idiots because we ask a few questions.

Last week was the start of football! The little man has been conditioning all week and now he is sore. Bossman is the coach again only this year they have moved up a division. My little man isn't so "little" anymore. He grew 3 inches and gained more than 10 pounds this past year. For only being 9 years old, he's quite tall. That isn't surprising as I am 5'10 and Bossman is 6'4. The wildchild is 5'10 almost 5'11, so you can see, it defiantly runs in the family. How cute are little boys in football pads??? I know, footballs players aren't suppose to be CUTE. But those boys playing football is just too cute!

Does anybody know what happened to spanking?? My blog claims to be a spanking blog. HA! I tried to go back in the archives and find the last time I got spanked. Guess what? I got bored and gave up. It just ain't happening around here. I hope that once school gets started things will get better. A woman can hope, can't she??

~~~~~~
School starts on Weds for the wildchild. She is a SENIOR!!! Why didn't anybody warn me how expensive it is to have a senior? I have to get senior portraits, yearbook, clothes, ASB card. Not to mention Senior announcements....
Anyway, I'm not old enough to have a senior in high school. I'm just a mere baby. Really, I AM!
~~~~~~

Want to make yourself feel really old? Go to myspace.com, look up people from your high school graduating class. All you have to do is type in the year you graduated and it will give you all the people that graduated from your school that year.

OMG! I saw people on there that are OLD! Seriously, I don't think I look that old. Sure, I've got a few minor wrinkles on my forehead, who wouldn't with all the worrying I do? But come ON! Some of those people look like, like, Oh, I don't know, they just look OLD! I found this guy on there that was a track star in high school. Now, he's bald, and fat. My eyes have been opened to the fact that I am in fact old. I have kids, I'm married. I'm a freakin' grown-up! Not sure when that happened, but WOW, what a shock. Someone should really warn us about these things. It seems to just sneak up on us. NOT FAIR!

Hope you all have a good week. I'm hoping mine will be a lot quieter than last week.

The drama continues!

WARNING: Before you read this post I should warn you, there is a lot of blood involved! Since I don't want to scare Eva, I want to warn Eva that she shouldn't really be reading this right before going to the hospital for surgery.

Consider yourselves warned!

I thought we were in the home stretch! I thought things were getting better.

I was wrong.

Around 8:30 last night, the wildchild jumped off the couch and scrambled for a piece of paper. She wrote, I'm bleeding but it's going down my throat and I can't spit it out.

Oh crap!

Then, she mad a made dash for the kitchen, it was closest, and blood started pouring out of her mouth.

Sort of like a horror show....

Only, this was real life....

and my daughter!

So, I immediately called the doctor, as this is what he told me to do.

He called right back. Thank goodness.

He said not to worry, but to take her to the ER in our town. (remember the 50+ miles?)

Bossman took her to the ER. I stayed home with the little man. This, it turns out, was a very good idea because things went from bad to worse at the ER.

Our ER has employed a security guard to man the front door. Apparently they think we are a big city and and a rent-a-cop will keep out the bad guys. They also apparently think that the rent-a-cop is also a doctor and can tell when things are an emergency.

So, when you go in, you have to fill out a paper explaining the problem so that rent-a-cop can give it to the triage nurse to determine if you are a true emergency.

Apparently, spitting up blood doesn't really matter.

So while the wildchild is spitting up blood, the r-a-c calmly and s-l-o-w-l-y walks over to give the paper to the nurse.

Now, Nurse Hatchett is busy with another patient. One that was NOT spitting up blood, I might add. Actually, this patient was on the way OUT! Nurse Hatchett, kept talking and talking and talking and ignoring r-a-c. Bossman was NOT too pleased with this little arrangement as his daughter, in case I didn't mention it before, was SPITTING UP BLOOD!

So, Bossman goes up to r-a-c and asks if we could speed things up a little. At which time r-a-c tells Bossman that pacing around the waiting room will not speed up the process!

uh, what?

Finally after about 6 minutes or so, the r-a-c hand the paper over to Nurse Hatchett. They whisper quietly with each other so Bossman can not hear what they are saying and then she finally waves them over.

Nurse Hatchett then proceeds with the standard questions, while my child is still bleeding. Who is responsible and what is your correct address seemed to be the most important questions that had to be answered IMMEDIATELY, as this was, in fact, the most important thing to know at this point!

Bossman finally said, can we speed this up, and Nurse Hatchett finally said, oh, just a few more minutes.

Oh good, just a few more minutes of bleeding out of your mouth, dear one.

Finally, they take her back. To a room with no bed, as they were full. So there was a chair. Guess what happened next?

If you said they had to wait some more...YOU were CORRECT!

Bossman then went to find SOMEONE to help our poor wildchild.

A different nurse, we'll call her Nursey Poo, cuz at least she wasn't mean, came in and took a look at the situation and then left to see how long before the doc came in.

She came back and said the wildchild was next. Did I mention there was blood coming out of my daughters mouth... still? By this time she had been bleeding for about an hour.

The doc finally comes in. You would think this would be the time to sing Hallelujah... you'd think.

The doc comes in, doesn't say much, looks down her throat and says we're going to do this and that, and then starts walking out the door. With NO explanation of anything.

Bossman wanted to know what it all meant, so he stops Doctor Evil to ask. Doc Evil tells Bossman, Do you want her here or not?

uh what?

DUH! Of course I want her here, SHES BLEEDING! Hence the blood all over the place.

Doc Evil then says, well, you are delaying her treatment by standing here talking to me!

OH REALLY????

Bossman was PISSED by then!

So, the wildchild was doing Ok, well, as OK as you can be with blood dripping out of your mouth and so he goes out to move our car and to call me, as the cell phone doesn't work in the hospital.

He calls me and tells me to call HER doc and have him call the ER to tell them what to do. So, I do that, and he runs back in to be with her.

So Nursey Poo comes in to take some blood and put in an IV. While taking the blood, the little vial thingie POPS off.

Now before I go further, I thought I would remind the audience that the wildchild is in a chair, not in a bed.

So the vial thingie POPS off and the blood starts spurting EVERYWHERE!

This is when the wildchild has had enough and decides to FAINT!

So, Bossman grabs the wildchild so she doesn't slide off the chair and the Nursey Poo tries to get some blood IN the vial.

Well, guess what people? The key to getting any attention is fainting because once you pass out, all KINDS of people want to help you. So another nurse comes in to help and someone comes in with a gurney. Then they all stand there deciding how they should get her on the gurney.

Bossman picks up the wildchild and puts her on the gurney. They bring her to a room that isn't even cleaned yet.

The IV is safely put in and the blood is finally in the vial and they give her a treatment of Epineferine.(sp) That is given through an oxygen mask. As soon as they give that to her she stops bleeding. THANK GOD!

She comes around and everything is looking good, so Bossman gives me a call.

B: Come right now.

Me: What is going on?

B: Just come right now.

Me: Are they admitting her?

B: I don't know yet, things got hairy here so please come NOW!

Me: I'm on my way.

So the little man and I high-tail it to the hospital. Mind you, I don't know all the drama yet. By the time I get there everything is good. The wildchild looks good and things are great.

Oh, and before I got there, there was a shift change. So I didn't get to meet Dr Evil or Nurse Hatchett. Too bad for me!

The new doc was GREAT! He kept asking the wildchild if everything was cool as a cat. He took great care of her and offered to let us stay there all night if we felt the need.

They gave her another dose of the meds and we waited around for an hour to make sure there were not side-effects. Bossman took the little man home. I waited around with the wildchild reading a readers digest from 2003. The wildchild tried to tell me what happened in sign language.

We got home around mid-night. Fun, fun, fun!

Bossman was really MAD. He is calling everyone he knows at that hospital and is filing all kinds of complaints! ALL KINDS! Dr. Evil and Nurse Hatchett better not meet Bossman anytime soon. Oh, the r-a-c better watch his step also. I'm just glad Bossman was there. He really took care of the wildchild. I don't know if I could have handled all that drama!

Anyway, the bleeding didn't start again, but I DID get to make the 50+ miles drive to see the real doc today.

He put a BIG, HUGE, needle down her throat to numb it, and then he sucked it, and then he cauterized it. And then it still didn't look good, so he did it again.

The wildchild was a real trooper. She said it didn't really hurt, it just was hard to breathe with his FIST in her throat. God, that girl is brave.

Well, everything is fine now. The doc doesn't expect any more bleeding and he expects her to be able to start school on Wed.

At this point, we don't expect anything!

recovery, day 8

So, to say my week has been stressful is.... an understatement!

Seems that whenever I am under tremendous stress I get cold sores. I hate cold sores. Kissing is a big problem. And ugly. I feel like everyone is just staring at my lip instead of me! They are also painful and they like to crack and bleed at night when I'm asleep.

Not that I've had much sleep this past week. The wildchild has been having a few complications. Nothing major, but it has been bleeding more than normal, and I've had to take her to the ER in the middle of the night to have it checked.

Fun, fun, fun!

But, yesterday was the one week post-op appointment. Remember when I said I had to drive over 50 miles to have the surgery? Well, yesterday, we drove 50+ miles for a 10 minute appointment and then drove back!

The good news, we didn't have to wait. The healing is coming along great!

The bad news, it was still bleeding some, so they put nitrate on the spots to try and stop it. OUCH for the wildchild.

The doctor said she had record size tonsils. I thought we should put her in the ginness book of world records. She didn't find that half as amusing as I did. Party pooper!

To say this has been a quiet week, would be an understatement. She hasn't spoken since the day of the surgery. The doc says she should start talking whenever it's comfortable for her. I hope she starts talking soon! School starts exactly one week from today!

She did have to go to school today and get her schedule. Of course they couldn't find it. She went with some friends, so the lady in the office thought my daughter was deaf! She thought her friend was her interpretor! How funny! The lady had to call me to find out some info and when she told me that I started laughing. Too funny! The kids thought it was pretty funny too and started making up funny sign language.

So, other than nursing my demanding daughter back to health...I have nothing new to report.

I'm hoping to get out of this nursing outfit soon.

Calgon, take me away!

The game that wasn't

Recovery efforts are about the same, not much eating, not much drinking.

Well, the patient isn't eating or drinking. But if I was a drinking woman, I'd be pouring me a couple, BELIEVE me!

The good news is, she's taking full advantage of MOM! I've become her personal slave, changing sheets, running out to buy milkshakes that she only drinks two sips from, buying all kinds of magazines. I'm giving her all the appropriate sympathies where needed. I've dispensed all meds, I've gotten spit bowls and towels to wipe drool.

I have a greater appreciation for my favorite nurse,Theresa!

So, you've probably heard I didn't get to go to the Dodgers baseball game. (At this point I should hear lots of sympathetic noises!)

The boys did get to go, and guess who they saw???

For those of you that don't watch TV, that would be Ian Ziering.

And this would be....
Mary Hart

Did I mention my husband is the paparazzi? Apparently it's that, or he's just a stalker of anyone famous!

Of course there were no records broken by Barry Bonds that night, but the Dodgers did manage to win! Of course this blog entry would not be complete without a pic of good ole' Mr. Bonds trying to break the record.

I TOLD you those were some good seats!!!

Oh well, the boys had a blast, and they did manage to see something that is far better than all these pics combined. They managed to see Mr. Bonds with his fly down. Too bad there are NO pics of that...LOL!

Hope ya'll have a good weekend. Don't worry about me, I think I have this nursing thing all figured out.....NOT!
