hopefully

For those of you questioning my thoughts on going to Yosemite in the winter, I feel the need to explain.

I live in CA.  It doesn't snow where I live.  If it gets in the 50's we complain and have to go find a hoodie.  We don't have snow boots, gloves, heavy coats or pretty much anything that keeps us warm.  We don't need it.  So, going to Yosemite and playing in the snow is a treat and a delight for us.  It's a novelty really.  Also it's a really good excuse to buy cute boots!

So no snow for us.  But like I said early, we had an awesome time in Vegas.  So awesome that we are thinking of going again at the end of Feb.  Or maybe for our anniversary in March.

Let's talk spanking for a minute.  Actually, lets just think about it for a minute.  Thinking...thinking...thinking...

Yep, it was really good.  I would like some more of that please!

I thought I might yesterday when Bossman said that later he might warm my butt.  I was a little non committal about it because frankly I never believe him when he says it and I was right to think that way because I pretty sure he forgot.  Kind of a bummer.  I could have reminded him, but I just don't want to become pushy about it.  I want him to want to do it.  I told him that a while back when we were talking about it.  I told him I didn't want to push him into something that he didn't want to do.  So...

I will try and be patient.  I think he just forgot.  Obviously, he wants to do it or he wouldn't have done it in Vegas.

Well, I'm holding out hope!

How was your weekend?  Anything exciting happen?

Hopefully yours,
grace

A little bit of this and a little bit of THAT

Yosmite was snowed in.  No electric and roads were closed.  So we had to come up with a plan b.  I mean we had the time off, we should use it.

We thought of taking out the rv.  Around these parts its been in the 50's.  Although not unbearably cold, it's was a little too cold for the beach.  So, after tossing around a few more ideas we decided to head to Vegas!

We've been here since Tuesday and are heading home tomorrow.  We've had the best time.  Bossman shmoozed his way into a pretty nice suite.  This place has two bathrooms.  I love having my own bathroom!  We didn't have much of an agenda so we've just been gambling a little and hanging out together.  It has been so much fun.

Last night things got a little sexy around here.  After doing a very silly strip tease, which included me flinging my bra around, Bossman ended up pulling me over his lap for a nice little spanking!

After not having one for awhile, it started to hurt pretty quickly and then things started going in another direction real fast, so it wasn't exactly a long spanking, but it was enough to get my attention and it was enough to make me realize I would like some more PLEASE!

Also, we won about 200 in the slots.

That's it for now,
Spankly yours,
grace

My back

My back is feeling much much better! Sitting is the worst, so I've been doing a lot of standing and laying.  I can finally sit without much pain.  The worst part of that whole episode is the wildchild and her hubby came to the house to paint my kitchen cabinets.  We paid them.  It took a couple of days and my house was torn apart but the cabinets look really nice now.  Problem was, I wasn't much help and I felt completely helpless.  But, it's done now so I survived.

Bossman and I had a rather interesting conversation the other night while in bed.  It's always easier to talk to him about sexual and spanking things in the dark.  Spanking was brought up and I'm hopeful that we might start up again.  I know, I've been saying that for awhile but it feels like everytime we have the house to ourselves, someone isn't feeling well (me) someone's back is hurting (again, me) or someone is on her period. (Hm who could that be?). By the time I'm back up and running, the wildchild is here. (Look who just walked in the door for the next 4 days!). She lives two hours away and yet I see her more than when she lived here.

Hopefully, things will turn around next week.  Oh, we are headed to Yosemite to the snow, so, who knows, maybe it will be the perfect time to warm my buns!

Hopefully yours,
grace

7 years

Even when you are down and out, the world keeps spinning.  Time keeps moving.  Life goes on.

7 years ago on Jan 15th, around noon, I got the call that would change my life.  It would change the way I live. It would change the way I think.  It would change the way I look. It would change my mental and physical being.  It was the day I found out I had breast cancer.

Amazingly enough, I didn't even think about it yesterday.  I may not have thought about it today if it weren't for facebook memories that like to pop up when you least want them.

I'm one of the lucky ones.  I survived.  My sister in law died 6 months after I found out.  She didn't survive.  She did everything she could to survive but it didn't happen.  It's not because she didn't fight, it's not because she lost the battle.  It's because her body was different than ours.  It didn't respond to the treatment.  It wasn't her fault.  She did everything in her power.

It's just crazy.  I don't understand it.  One survives, one doesn't.  It's just not fair.  But it's life and we have to deal with it the best way we can.  We cannot live in fear.  We must live our best life because the ones that aren't here would have wanted it that way.  They would love to still be here living.  So we must live on, for them.

So today I'm going to live.  I'm going to enjoy my day.  I'm going to appreciate THIS day for tomorrow is not promised.

I suggest you do the same!

Survivingly,
grace

Backache

My back has been hurting all week.  Just a low dull pain in my back.  Today I had a baby shower to attend.  Also, my lease is up on my car, so after the shower we were going to get a new car.

Sounds like a nice day right?

Also, before I even got out of bed, I had lovely morning sex.

So, you see, the day was looking bright!

I got all gussied up and headed out to the garage.  Bossman was following me because we were talking about how this was my last ride in my car, I really loved that car.  I put my leg into the car when...

BAM!  My back literally went out.  Like, I couldn't move.  I was stuck with one foot in and one foot out of the car.

Thank goodness Bossman was there.  After I got a grip on what was happening he was able to help me shuffle into the house.  I bent over the counter...much like a spanking position and decided I was just going to lay there for the rest of the day.  Although I was in a lot of pain, I was very aware of the position I was in.  I was really wishing the pain in my back was lower and hotter.

So, now I sit here on a heating pad.  Again, why couldn't my butt be heated?  Instead I missed out on my really great day.  I didn't make it to the shower and my husband is picking up my new car without me.  I don't even know if I will be able to ride in it today.

So, in conclusion...I'm feeling very very sorry for myself right now.  Feel free to feel sorry for me too!

Achingly yours,
grace

Happy New Year

I hope you all had a very happy holiday.  Over here in Graceland, we are spoiled  rotten.  Everyone got exactly what they wanted.  It was a wonderful day.  We all got along wonderfully and we just had a really nice time.

The mus*lim came over on Christmas night.  She was quite pleasant until she wasn't.  That's pretty much how it goes with her.  Luckily, Bossman but her in her place and she backed off and we all survived without drama.

The wildchild and her husband left the day after Christmas and The boy and his girlfriend both leave on New Year's Day.  I'm happy they are here, but it will be nice to have my house back.  I forgot how much work it is to keep the house clean and people fed.  So much work!

I hope everyone is having a happy holiday season.  The new year is almost here and I am ready for a fresh start.  I won't make resolutions because that just sets me up for failure, but I am planning on doing some freshening up on my life and my house.

One more things before I go.  I mentioned to Bossman that I would like to start some things up after everyone leaves and he agreed and when I asked him if he knew what I was talking about it said, YES!  So, there is that to look forward too!

Happy New Year Everyone!

Optimistically yours,
grace

Holiday craziness

The boy made it home.  It normally takes 16 hours...it took 24, and they didn't stop.  It was bad, bad, bad!  I was so happy to see that boy walk through the door.

The boys girlfriend came for the holidays.  She is from Indiana.  She got here the same day he came home.  The wildchild was here already with her husband.  She is a wedding photographer and was here to do a wedding.  It is a FULL house here.

As Donkey, from Shrek says, it's not Christmas unless someone is crying and well...the day after everyone came home, the boy and the wildchild got into a fight.  Oh brother.  I thought I was over refereeing my kids fights.  My daughter ended up in tears, then I was in tears.  It was super fun!

Luckily, the next day, I made them all sit down and make up.  I told them they didn't have to like each other but they had to get along for christmas.  I didn't want a gift, I just wanted that.

After that, everyone got along fine.  They even hung out together.

Whew! Christmas was saved!

So Christmas Eve is at my house.  My whole family is coming.  It should be a good time.  Christmas Day will be just our immediate family.  It is going to be a great weekend.

I'll be honest though, as happy as I am to have everyone here, I'll sure be happy when they leave! HAHA!

I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas.  Or whatever you celebrate, I hope you are happy!

Love and good wishes,
grace

Happy Birthday PK!!!!!

Me worried? NAH!

So, how are your christmas plans coming along?  Are you finished shopping? Wrapping? Cleaning? Cooking?

Yeah, me neither!

In other news, the BOY is coming home.  He's 16 hours away and he's leaving today.  He's driving with 2 other boys.  Here's the problem.  It's suppose to snow 4 to 6 inches right on his path home. Needless to say, I'm a tad worried.

HA! Who am I kidding?  I'm really, really worried!  These boys are california boys.  They don't have experience driving in the freaking snow!  I am so nervous for them!  I am glad they will be together and I know they will be going slow.  But, it's a long drive and I will worry until I see his smiling face tomorrow! I mean, I'm a mamma, that's what we do.

If you have a spare prayer today, could you say one for these boys?  Thank you!

I gotta run, there is presents to buy, food to cook and a house to clean.

Anything to keep my mind from worrying!

Not-worried-at-all,
grace

Warning, depressing post.

Ever since I had cancer I've been a little paranoid about health issues.  I like to call it canceritis because every pain or weird thing is cancer. (In my mind).   One of my biggest fears is having some sort of health problem and not being at home.  Things my stupid brain thinks about is...what if I'm on this trip and I have a heart attack?  What if I'm far away from home and I need a doctor?

I know it's useless to worry about stuff like that.  If it's going to happen, its going to happen.  I really don't have any control over stuff like that.

On an even more depressing note.  My brothers best friend died on Saturday of a heart attack.  He was only 40.  I personally didn't know him well, I only met him a handful of times, but, as you can imagine, my brother is devastated.  I'm just really sad for my brother.  And for his friends family.  And really for everyone involved!  It's just SAD!  Things like this shouldn't happen and it really shouldn't happen right before the holidays.  I am terrible at handling sad.  I'm sure we are all terrible at it, but it makes me anxious.  When I'm anxious I tend to curl in a ball, hide under my blankets.  BAH!

Well, that's all I've got.  Tomorrow will be better!

Depressingly,
grace

Christmas already?

We've been busy, busy, busy!  When you have 17 bins of Christmas stuff, it tends to take many many hours to set it all up.  Every evening we are busy doing things.  Tonight we worked outside.  Our house is coming along, but man, it's a chore! We do love it though, so we aren't willing to throw in the towel yet.

I can't believe it's almost Christmas.  It seems like this year has gone so fast. My son graduated, started college.  My daughter moved 2 hours from me. Life is crazy.

So, MIL... can we just talk about her some more?  She is nuts.  I think I've said that before.  She called me a couple of days after she came to our house.  So, do you have anyone in your life that repeats stories over and over? (Besides me..HAHA). Seriously, I haven't talked to her in 3 years and honestly, she is telling me the same stories she told me 3 years ago.  It's sad because it means she has no life!

So how are your holidays going so far?  Are any of you as crazy as we are?

Ho, ho, ho,
grace

We may have a problem...

We have a Christmas problem.  We just pulled 17 plastic bins from the attic.  17 bins.  Of Christmas decorations! Good grief, Charlie Brown, THAT is a lot of decorations.

I was going to try and defend this travesty but honestly, I love it!  Now some of those bins hold our Christmas village.  A couple of bins hold my nativity sets. ( I just love collecting them) and quite a few of those bins are for our outdoor decorations.

Fine, just call us the Griswolds and call it a day!!! HA!

Now you know what we've been doing today.  How's your Sunday been?

Christmasy,
grace

Crazy MIL

The last 6 months have been so crazy for me.  I know I have shared some of it but there have been some developments that I haven't shared.

I don't know how many of you remember, but Bossman has a crazy mother.  I mean, the woman is bonkers!  A number of years ago she became a mus*limThe woman raised Bossman and his sisters in a strict christian family.  Suddenly, she meets some guy on facebook and decides to become mus*lim.  I am afraid she would find this blog online if I use the M word so I'll try not to use it much.

In any case, I'm all for people having their own beliefs in life, but her transition to M has just thrown the entire family for a loop.  We have gotten used to it, but honestly, she's a old white woman in a head scarf.  I know what it's called but I don't want to say it here.  Trust me, it's weird.  When this all first happened, she was very pushy with her new found beliefs.  She would talk about Moha*mmd a lot and it drove us crazy.  We didn't want to here it and she wouldn't stop even after asking her to stop.

6 years ago we lost Bossmans sister.  It was a traumatic time for all of us but there was a ton of drama when it came time for the funeral.  Since then there has been tons MORE drama and for the past 3 or 4 years we have had no contact with my MIL.  We have had limited contact with Bossmans dad, and YES, he is still married to the crazy one.  But we only saw him at church.

ANYWAY, I tell you all that so I can tell you that in June my FIL had some medical problems and Bossman felt we should go see him in the hospital and of course, we knew we would be seeing HER. We sucked it up and went and everything was ok.  Bossman wasn't interested in having a full blown relationship with her, but over the months, they have needed some help with yard work and stuff and well, we've had some contact.  On Bossmans birthday, she came over to our house.  She hasn't been here for 4 years, so it was a little weird.  Everyone got along fine, but they were here late and that is why I missed posting that day.

So, that's been going on and it's a little bit good and a little bit scary because although things are good, you never know when the drama will happen again and Bossman and I are not getting involved in the drama again.  I'm praying there won't be drama because I think even though she's bonkers, she is Bossmans mom and she's getting older so...you just never know what will happen in life.  Bossman's dad has a bad heart and who knows what will happen if he has a problem.  She literally has no one in her life except Bossmans sister and she's pretty useless.

Well, this story could go on but I guess I bored you enough for today.

I am very thankful Bossman and his mom are on speaking terms.  And right now that's all I can ask for.

Opps!

Oh dear!  I woke up at 3 this morning and realized I forgot to post!  I was so close to the end of the month too!  I was so mad!  I was so disappointed!  GAH!

Oh well, life goes on.  And I think it was pretty cool that I managed to blog 29 out of 30 days!  I think I'm going to keep going.  I mean, I may not post every single day, but I am going to keep going.  I mean, some of the days I couldn't think of anything to blog about but I did it anyway.  It made me think and stretch my mind a little.  I know some of my posts were probably boring, but at least I tried.

Ok, the reason I forgot to blog yesterday is because it was Bossmans birthday.  I am so thankful for that man I don't even know where to begin.

Bossman and I met when we were in high school.  I was a senior and he was a junior.  (I know!  Such a cradle robber I am!)  I asked him to roller skate and the rest, as they say, is history.  One thing I know for sure is, asking him to skate was hands down the BEST decision I ever made!

He and I have been through a lot.  But through it all he has worked his butt off to make sure I was taken care of.  Well, me and the kids!  We are in a comfortable spot in our lives because of him.

I can't imagine my life without him.  He is my soul.

So many things happened yesterday that I now have stuff to tell you about in another post!  YAY!

Have a great day!

Forgetfully,
grace

Baby it's cold outside!

It's been cold here, which is unusual for us.  It also rained again this weekend, so that was nice. We can really use the rain here on the West coast.

Today I was very thankful for my ugg boots.  My feet were nice and toasty!

I haven't had that conversation yet with Bossman.  I know you all are saying to just come right out with it.  I suppose that is the best option.  I just find it hard to ask for something like spanking.  I'm sure its just how life is.  Spankings have such negative thoughts associated with them that it's hard to remember that it's ok to want them.  My brain doesn't want to wrap around the fact that its ok and it doesn't make me weird or odd.  (Ok, I'm rather weird and odd, but not because of spanking. HA!)

I wish the world would just understand that it's ok.  I wish my brain would understand that it's ok.

I will talk to him about it.  I promise, I will.

Late

We finally made it home from the airport.  I am very thankful for that today.  The traffic was great, there wasn't much, UNTIL, until we got about a mile from the airport.  THEN it took over 45 minutes to go a mile.  It was terrible.  But we survived and the boy made it to his flight.  He has actually landed and is waiting for his second flight.  It's only an hour flight to his college from where he is now.

So, I didn't talk to Bossman about spanking.  We were tired and Bossman was listening to football on the radio and I just couldn't get the gumption to talk about it.  Honestly, I didn't know what to say.  Half way home he told me something and I said something back and he got testy with me and I decided talking to him wasn't such a good idea.  I'm not going to chicken out, I will talk to him, I just have to figure out what I want.  I can't just say, hey spank me.  I have to expand on that.  But what do I want?  That is the million dollar question.

Any suggestions on what I should ask for or how I should ask?  I'm always open for suggestions.

HUGS!

One day left

I'm so thankful that I had this week with my son.  We've had a fun time and it is always fun to spend time with him.

Tomorrow will be spent in traffic taking him to the airport.  I'm not looking forward to that.

Today we spent time just hanging out and then he went surfing one last time before heading back to school.  It was freezing and raining here today so I spent time at home watching the Gilmore girls!  I love that show so much!  I have two more episodes. I'm already sad that it's going to be over.  I want watch them, but I want to save them too.  It's such a first world problem.

I hope you all had a great weekend.  I know I did.

HUGS!

Leftovers

We made it home and all is well.  We have to take the boy to the airport on Sunday and trust me when I say that traffic will probably be a nightmare.  It's normally a 2 and a half hour ride but when we picked him up it took us 4 and a half.  UGH!

He's coming home again in 2 weeks or so, so I wont have much time to miss him.  BUT, he's decided to drive home and it's a 16 hour drive, so that won't be worrisome, AT ALL!

I feel like this holiday season is going to fly by and it's going to be over before we know it.  I plan on enjoying every second I can.

Today I am thankful for the Thanksgiving leftovers.  I personally don't have any, my daughter kept them all.  It's seems weird that I would be thankful for them, but honestly, I am thankful for them because I miss them!  Does that even make sense?  Probably not, but I think I will go to the store and get a turkey and make one this weekend so I can have leftovers.

I'm also grateful that we made it home safe!

Also, I'm grateful for the weekend.

Ok, I think I'm done now!

Happy Thanksgiving

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  I am super full and super happy.  It was a great time for all of us.

I am so grateful for my family and I am very thankful that we were all healthy.  About 9 years ago I got super sick on Thanksgiving and ended up having an ambulance take me to the hospital.  It was a very rough time and it was by far the worst Thanksgiving and Christmas I ever had.  It makes me appreciate the holidays where I am feeling great.

I hope you all had a great day!  I'm am thankful you stopped by to read today.

HUGS!
grace

Family

I'm thankful for my family today.

We came to my daughters house to celebrate thanksgiving.  We've been here a couple of hours and we have been having fun.  We set up a Christmas tree in the back yard and took some family photos for our Christmas card.  We had a blast.  Sometimes we are just so silly!

I hope you all have a happy Thanksgiving and for those who don't celebrate, please have a very happy Thursday!

Love and HUGS!
