Rain

Today I am thankful for the rain.

I live in a drought area.  We have certain days we can water our lawns and we have to do everything we can to save water.  Today, it rained and rained.  It was a beautiful thing.  Everything gets nice and green after a good rain.  It's a nice fresh feeling after a good rain.

This rain will do nothing for the drought, we need it to rain for a good 40 days for that to happen, but it's nice to have the rain.  Our weather gets so boring sometimes.  It's nice for it to be cold and rainy!  It's perfect for getting into the Thanksgiving mood.

Hope you all had a great weekend!  I did! My boy came home!

HUGS!

  1. Hi, Grace,
Hmmm, the smell of rain is so delicious! Glad your area received some much needed rain and that your boy came home. It's funny how certain weather can put us in a certain mood.

    1. There is a name for that lovely smell, after a rain! I learned it on Cat's blog! It is called petrichor! LOL! You can see that here:

  4. Hi Grace, :) We sure could use some rain where our younger son is, as well as where PK is! They are all dealing with fires not all that far away.

It is cold here today, and we got a dusting of snow last night. first so far.

Have fun with your boy! Many hugs,

  6. Happy you got the rain, Grace...the area my oldest son lives in is struggling with drought also. They aren't allowed to water at all...not even their garden. So they plant their garden in pots and use grey water. Hope you get more consistent rain.

    Hugs and blessings...Cat
