So, the wedding was beautiful. The full 20 minutes that was the wedding. It was, by far, the best part of the entire trip.
After the wedding, Bridezilla had it in her mind that we were all to trapes back to her hotel room for cake. Of course, she neglected to remember that the room was left a disaster, with all the make-up and hair doing going on there.
So, since I had her room key, my mom, brother, Bossman and the wildchild and her friend and I (did you get all that?) went back to her room to straighten up. About 30 minutes after we finished Bridezilla and the groom showed up. By this time, it's about 8pm. The newlyweds tell us that we have to wait for the grooms family to show up so we can cut the cake. So we wait....
and wait....
and wait....
While waiting, my mom asks Bridezilla when was the last time the baby had eaten? The groom says, he had a good breakfast. HUH? It's 8pm. What does Bridezilla do? she takes frosting off a cupcake and gives him the unfrosted cupcake. We look in the fridge and the only thing in there is soda and champaine. No food for the baby.
My mother was NOT happy about that.
The grooms family arrives. About 5 minutes later, the grooms family leaves. We still have NOT cut the freaking cake! The grooms family was smart. They took one look at the situation and headed straight for the door. Smart people. I should have went with them. THEY, were going for food.
Finally Bridezilla decides that we should cut the cake. Ya THINK????
After the ceremonial cutting of the FREAKING CAKE....we have to figure out what to do with the kids. Since the kids were staying at our hotel, we had to figure out how to get them there. By this time, it's close to 9:30pm.
The grooms brother finally shows up with the van that has the babyseat. We load the babies things (that's right, the baby's things were not even packed and ready to go!)and head to our hotel.
Before heading out, Bossman took the kids to the food court to get food. Now Bridezilla had this crazy idea of going to a place called Coyote Ugly to throw the bouquet. If you don't know about Coyote Ugly, its a bar where they dance on the bar. This place is within walking distance of Bridezillas hotel, so she said she would meet us there.
Mind you, WE are taking care of her children.
So we take the children to our hotel and head back to hers. By this time it's 10:30 and remember, it's Saturday night on the strip. Can you say "Crowded"?
Bossman, my brother, my mom and I head back to this bar. We park the car and have to walk about a mile to get to this bar. See, they make you walk through the whole casino from the parking area. Remember, I only got about 4 hours of sleep the night before and in case you didn't know this about me...I don't do tired well. I LOVE my sleep and I'm not ashamed to admit to all of you, I usually go to bed pretty early.
We finally get to the bar and guess what? Bridezilla had already gone into the bar and done her thing. WITHOUT US! After we waited for HOURS for that freaking cake AND took care of HER children, she did it without us.
Now, in the grand scheme of things, it doesn't quite matter that I missed it. None of us minded that part too much. The part that bugged us was that she didn't even bother to call us and tell us that they already did it. Instead they made us walk a mile, just to tell us they already did it. The other problem is....they had NO other PLAN!
So, they decided to walk to another casino. This casino is only across the street, but guess what.....
A Jimmy Buffet concert had just gotten out. Thousands of people started streaming out of the casino, dressed in ridiculous costumes (coconut bras...and these were the men)and all going the opposite direction that WE were going in.
By this time it's reaching 11:30pm. Every bar we passed wasn't good enough for Bridezilla. We finally happen upon a place that has a 20 dollar cover charge for men and is free for women. It's called an "intimate bar". My brother takes one look at the place and says "I am not going into that bar with my mother". Bossman can see on my face that I wasn't really interested in going into that bar so he tells Bridezilla that we aren't going in. My mother tells Bridezilla that she's tired and old (way to play the old card Mom!) and wants to go back to the hotel.
The bride? She starts crying. In the casino. My brother? He turns his back and starts muttering "Moms gonna blow, Moms gonna blow" and wanted to know why it was 11:40 and he still didn't have a drink. Me? I just had to laugh!
So, we left the bride crying in the casino. Don't worry, she wasn't like bawling her eyes out, but she sure didn't look like a newly wed. She looked like she just lost her best friend. But at that point, we didn't CARE!
So we walked back to our car. It was a LONG walk back to the car. We were dying of thirst. Not just alchol, we needed WATER! There was a water machine in the garage and guess what? It wouldn't take our money! I swear, if we didn't have bad luck, we'd have no luck at all.
We finally make it back to the car and decide NOT to go back to the hotel. We needed fun and we needed it NOW! But first we needed water.
So we start driving down the strip. It's stop and go traffic. We are stopped.
Police start running through the crowd of people on the sidewalk. Police on bikes start riding through the cars. Police on horses start....well, I think you get the picture.
Traffic moves a little.
*Ladies and Gentleman, if you all look out of the right side of the tram you will see.....A DEAD BODY!*
Stay tuned for the next exciting episode of Bridezella and the Wedding ditchers....
