bad news!

I just found out that Eva and Adam are not swingers! They don't want to switch partners or have a big spanking party! Boo hoo! All my plans are ruined! There goes the perfect vacation.

Ok, I admit it. Neither are Bossman or I. Just thinking about doing something like that makes my stomach hurt. I could NEVER do anything like that. I find it fascinating to read about others that have met and spanked others or gone to spanking parties, but frankly, it's just not for me.

Actually, and I know this will be a surprise to you all, but I'm actually quite shy. I don't like new things. I hate getting out of my comfort zone.

This is one adventure that I'm looking forward too. I think we will get along fine and have lots of fun together! I'm just hoping the men can keep up with us women!

I know Eva said to watch her blog if you want to read about dinners out and touristy stuff, but watch mine if you want to know the truth!

I'm sure the rumors will be flying, but the only reliable source is ME!

Have I ever steered you wrong before?

*takes halo out of back pocket and shines it right up!*

don't make any sudden moves

I have the worst kink in my neck. Turning to the left is not really a good option for me right now. Don't you just hate that!

As for the to-do list, I was going to add, get a tan, to the list but I've decided that the list is too much work! Sheez! If I worried about all that stuff for real, I would be exhausted! I will, however, get some new shorts. My rag-tag shorts are just not acceptable. I may not look perfect, but I could at least look decent, right?

Actually, I have this little theory on people and their clothes. The way I see it, everyone has an "unwritten" contract with the world. It's a standard contract and it's mostly common decency. The contract states that we will wear appropriate clothes. See, it's simple. Some of the contract breakers would include fat chicks in belly shirts, men in speedos, you know, those kind of things.

So, I won't be a contract breaker! I will wear decent clothes. Well, I think they are decent, the wildchild would probably disagree with me. Oh well, what do teenagers know?

On a more serious note, D is having a really hard time. The news isn't great for her right now. Her cancer is very rare and is in rare spot, so they aren't sure how to proceed. The head liver guy from UCLA is taking a look, and he thinks he can do a procedure where they cut off the blood supply to the bad side of the liver and hope the good side will grow. Problem with that is, if it doesn't grow, she's pretty much left with only about 20 percent of her liver. NOT good. Apparently, she is not a candidate for a liver transplant because of where the tumor is located. So, this is not very good news. It's scary actually. I don't really like to talk about it, for thinking about it hurts my heart. I want to be as positive as possible as I can, so I can't think about the worst case stuff. I just have to trust that the best decisions will be made and things will work out fine. I don't even want to write about it much, for just that makes it a little to real. But I wanted to give you all an update so you can keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

Now, lets move on to a more upbeat subject, shall we?

On the spanking front: HA! What is a spanking? Where can I get one?

yeah, it's like that right now.

It's not really anyone's fault. It just seems like we don't really have much time for it. If we were going to blame anyone, we couldn't possibly blame me, for I have been as bratty as possible. See, I've done MY part! What more does a girl have to do to get a spanking around here?

If I do get a spanking (hint, hint Bossman) I am worried about how much it will hurt. I only say this because we all know how much it hurts after you haven't been in the action for awhile. My virgin butt will not know what to think. It will probably go into shock or something. Oh well, I AM willing to risk it. (hint, hint Bossman)

Did I mention that I am a fairy god mother? Ok, I'm not really a Fairy, but my sister has asked Bossman and I to be Godparents to my nephew! I told her that I'll be needing some wings and a wand if she wants me to take on that position. I could never be an ordinary Godmother. BORING! I want a wand and I want to grant wishes.

So, I'm off to google wands and wings. I wonder how expensive they are. I hope I can get those wings in my size. Do they run one-size fits all? I hope they sell really sparkly wands with extra magic in them. Maybe I'll use the wand on D too!

I can see how much I was missed by the e-mail box that is filled to the brim!(NOT)

Oh well, even if you didn't miss me, I missed all of you.

Camping was fun. Adventure, to say the least.

The place we camp is about 45 minutes from our house. We love going there and try and go once a year. It's a first come, first serve place, so you have to get lucky to get a spot there.

We figured that this week would be full, so we tried going out on Sunday to see if we could snag a spot. See, if the campground is full, they put you on a list and at three, they give out all the spots that came up, so our plan was to get on the list.

Luckily, there were 2 spots left when we got there. We paid up until thursday. We were not prepared to stay Sunday night, but we paid the 18 bucks to hold the spot for us.

Monday, we loaded up the car and headed out to the beach. It was BEAUTIFUL! The weather was perfect. We set up camp and enjoyed the day. The little man likes skimboarding and boogie boarding and I like to sit on the beach and read juicy romance novels. Perfect!

The wildchild did not join us that night. So it was just the three of us. It was a little weird not having her there, but I knew she would be joining us the next day, so it wasn't too bad.

That night, the winds were BAD! See, we camp with tents. Someday, I will have a camper of some kind. Someday! But for now it was tents. The winds were so strong I thought the tent would collapse. It didn't. But, the screen tent we have that we put up over the table...uh, it didn't fair so well.

So the next day, we headed to the nearest town, (about 20 miles away) and bought a new screened in tent. We have to have one, as every time you try and cook something, the bees swarm you....NOT FUN!

The new tent!

We came back to camp, set up the new tent, cooked some lunch and waited for the wildchild. She showed up with her boyfriend and we all hit the beach. ( The boyfriend didn't stay the night)

We had a lovely time. The evening was spent around the campfire making smore's and roasting wienies! (hee hee, I said wienies!)

That night, the wind was bad again, but we had purchased some earplugs, so it was bearable.

The next day, the weather started doing some weird stuff. One minute, the air was calm and HOT, the next, the wind would blow in. Then it would be super hot at the campsite, and cold on the beach. Then you'd be on the beach and it would be really hot, and then it would be super cold and windy. Crazy!

About mid-afternoon, we decided to head out for along walk along the beach. We waited until the tide was low, because we wanted to take a hike along this area that have tide pools. We had a GREAT time on the first half of the walk. We walked, we talked, we found cool shells and we saw crabs and sea creatures. We watched birds flying over head and watched sea lions play in the water. It was NICE.

(you can't see it, but the arrow is pointing to a pyramid looking thing that we wanted to see. See how far away it was? We walked all that way. Mind you, we had already walked about a third of the way before this picture was taken.)

The pyramid thing! We made it! Still don't know what it is, but it's there, in the middle of no where!)

On the way back from our walk, which by the way, was about 2 miles each way, we started to notice the wind was picking up. Soon, the wind was so strong that the sand was blasting on our legs and it HURT!

(this was taken before the wind started up. We were just heading back. The arrow is pointing to where we had to go before we got to the straight area with no rocks to hide behind. Notice the wet sand? This is why we didn't realize what we were going to be up against, we hadn't gotten to the dry area yet.)

We rounded one of the corners and were hunkered down behind some rocks. Bossman was yelling "take cover" and I was cracking up laughing! I thought I was going to pee my pants. I couldn't believe that I was hunkered down behind a rock trying to protect myself from sand!

Unfortunately, we were only about half way back to the camp site. The last part of our journey consisted of flat beach with NO rock protection. It was about this time that I realized that this wasn't funny anymore. The little man started to panic. I wasn't sure how we were going to walk the rest of the way back with the sand blasting us. I'm not exaggerating when I say, the winds were probably going between 25 and 30 miles per hour.

(The straight away, on the way THERE, not on the way back!)

Luckily, as long as we walked in the surf, the sand couldn't blast our legs. We plowed through the last leg with me telling the little man that we can't panic and we had to pretend we were soldiers and we couldn't stop, we had to keep moving. And THAT is just what we did.

By the time we got back to the camp, we were exhausted. The wind showed no signs of dying down and we had no option but to sit in the car if we wanted relief from the wind. We were so wind blown and sunburned. We all decided, in that moment, that we were heading HOME. We were suppose to stay until the morning and then leave, but we were DONE! We couldn't imagine trying to sleep that night with all that wind whipping through our tent.

So, we gathered the last of our energy and packed up the car with tents and such and then we left.

Oh, first, because this place has the best burgers EVER, and we had planned on having those burgers for dinner that night, we got burgers and THEN we left!

When we got home that night, the little man told us all that we were NOT allowed to mention that walk on the beach again, for it brought up bad memories. I told him that we would be bringing it up often and laughing, for if you really think about it, it was REALLY funny. Plus, that's the best story we've got for the summer. (so far, but he won't be going with me to meet the girls) Not to mention, you know when he goes back to school he's going to have to write a report about what he did this summer. Between the armpit of hell, I mean, baseball game and the day we got sandblasted and lived to tell about it, I don't think he'll have any problem coming up with something to tell about.

Well, that was my trip! What's been going on with YOU these days? Any fireworks to report?

(click on the pictures to enlarge! One of them shows the wildchild, but notice she's the ONLY one on the beach? I wonder why??)

Gone Campin'

If you haven't read about my vacation, scroll down, you're in for a big surprise!

As for me, I'm off to the beach. I'll be camping until Thursday, unfortunately, there are no internet connections at the beach!

Don't worry, I'll be home by the 4th! I can't miss out on fireworks!

I'm bringing my red-neck to valley girl translator so I can study up for my big vacation.

So, have a great week everyone! And just in case you were wondering....

Paul was right, the saying Sun don't shine on the same dog's tail all the time, means you'll get what you deserve.

Good job Paul!

HUGS!

Time to fess up

I've decided it's time to spill the beans on my vacation. This is NO ordinary vacation. I will NOT be attending a Shadow lane party, although that was a VERY good guess!

This vacation will consist of all kinds of fun things. We will be hanging out at the beach, taking is some touristy stuff and just trying to have fun.

The best part of this vacation is that I get to meet some people that I've been dying to meet for...oh, I don't know, forever!

Want to take a guess on who I'm meeting on this vacation?

Let me make it easier for you....I've got a photo of two of them...wanna see it?

Well? Have you finally figured it out?

I get to meet THE TWINS!

Not only that, but you want to know the icing on the cake? Not that meeting the Twins isn't good enough....but it gets BETTER!!!

I know! Your thinking to yourself...how can it possibly be better than THAT? Well, I'm about to tell you.

Are you ready for this?

Can you handle all this excitement?

We, the twins and I, (Oh yeah, and the hubbys) WE are meeting another of our wonderful friends.

Can you guess?

Aren't you just dying to know?

We are meeting.....

C.C!

Can you imagine that? C.C, the Twins, and I are all getting together!

I'm warning you now, the West Coast will NEVER be the same!

Here's the thing. We've seen how much trouble those twins can get into. So, what's it going to be like with FOUR of us? I don't know if I can keep up with these young whippersnappers! Truth be told....

I'm SCARED to death!

Ok, not really. I'm so excited, I can hardly wait!

I'm preparing for the big day. See, one of the twins, well, she has this crazy notion that Californians wear weird clothes and talk weird. So, since I don't want to disappoint, I've dragged out my tied-dyed shirts and I've brushed up on my Valley girl lingo. I've told Bossman to grow his hair out and get out his surfer shorts. I've dragged out my bong, so we can smoke some doobies....

I'm a pretty good host, don't you think?

Also, I'm a little worried about understanding PK, so I've been reading up on my southern sayings. Did you know that if you say, "I'm going to bed with the chickens", that it means your going to bed early?

I also learned that scarce as hen's teeth, means no such thing.

I'm telling you, there's a lot I don't know about this southern stuff. Thank goodness I have time to study!

Well, there you have it. A vacation of a lifetime! I can hardly wait.

Now, anybody know what Sun don't shine on the same dog's tail all the time means?

The armpit of HELL!

We went to the Dodgers yesterday. I thought I was in Africa. Seriously, I think I lost 10 pounds in SWEAT! It was unbelievable HOT. We saw numerous people get taken away for heat stroke. Not really my idea of fun!

I thought we were going to have to leave, for the little man was really having a hard time getting through, but we made it! We really wanted to see the softball game that was after. Would you believe that the game was tied in the 9th and we had to go 2 extra innings? I was NOT a happy camper. The Indians ended up scoring first, and frankly I think the entire crowd was happy to ANYONE score at that point! Bummer that the Dodgers lost, but they SUCKED! Truth be told, the entire game was boring. Each team scored a home run and that was IT, until the 11th inning. BORING, HOT, and REALLY HOT are the words I would use to describe the game. Oh well.

The softball game afterward was ok. We saw James Denton from Desperate Housewives, we saw Kareem Abul Jabbar. Boy is that man TALL. There was John Luvits and Tom Arnold. The wildchild was most excited to see Kendra from "The Girls Next Door". If you don't know that show, it's about Hugh Heffners girlfriends.

After watching them play for a couple of innings, I was DONE. Over done to be exact. So we left. Never was I more happy to get in my car and turn on the a/c. AHHH, relief for sure.

Next year, we are going to a night game. There is NO way in HELL I am sitting through a game like that AGAIN!

Now, I'm just looking forward to my vacation. Eva keeps asking where I'm going. So I'll tell you a couple of hints...

We are driving. Probably taking the convertible. Meeting up with some GREAT people. Hanging out, touristy stuff and just HAVING FUN!

I'll tell you more as the time gets closer, but just so you know, this is the most excited I've been in a REALLY long time. I never thought we would get to go and do something like this and I'm super excited.

Oh, I think you readers will be MOST surprised when you find out our plans. Trust me, you will be AMAZED!

Ok, I gotta run! Believe it or not, the weather is back to a respectable 75 and I have laundry and yard work to do! THANK GOD for cool weather!

So, how was YOUR weekend?

Help!

109....need I say more?

Is it hot in here, or is it just me?

So, yeah, it's like HOT as HELL here in Ca!

I know, most of you could care less, what's a little heat, right?

WRONG people, You are all VERY wrong.

First of all, we don't have air conditioning. It's just not needed for the 2 weeks a year that we get this kind of heat wave.

Second of all, it's extremely expensive to live here. We pay a lot of money for the weather that is in the 70's. I am extremely pissed that I have to be in 10234 degree weather. Fan's are just not cutting it people and I am NOT happy.

Third of all, all this heat is making me CRANKY! (not that you all could tell, but I AM)

Bossman came home today and all I had to do was look at him and he could tell that he needed to get me out of the house before I completely melted away. THANK GOD for Bossman. He took me out to dinner, in a nice air-conditioned place. I almost decided to move there. It was HEAVEN!

Right now, I'm sitting out on my patio. It's 10 minutes to 9, AT NIGHT, and it's still a balmy 85. I refuse to go in the house for it's HOTTER in the freaking HOUSE!

After watching the depressing news, I've been informed that tomorrow will be worse...WORSE??? Tell me it isn't so.

If I manage to survive tomorrow, then we will go to the Dodger game on Saturday. They say it will be about a bizillion degrees in LA on Saturday. Oh YAY! And our seats, well, they are right up in front of home plate. There is NO shade. NONE!

So, if the next time you click on my link and you find a big puddle, please, just pop me in the freeze for a couple of hours, I promise, I'll be FINE!

I have no title for this....

Friday was the last day school for the little man. That means it's officially summer in my house. I would do the happy dance, but then I would just get ridiculed for doing the happy dance when school starts again. I've decided that I enjoy summer starting, but I enjoy when school starts again. Summer means less spankings, less time to ourselves, but it seems that this will be the year when my son will be home a lot less, so I have a feeling spankings will still happen.

Bossman and I are in a place right now were we are getting on each others nerves. We have different opinions on just about everything. It doesn't help that I have been PMSing and kind of cranky. It doesn't help that he is annoyed with anything that has to do with the wildchild. I hate when we are at this point in our lives, but I also know that it's not something that will last. We will get back to ourselves soon enough. I just hope it's soon, all this tension is tiring. I think part of the tension has to do with how much spanking is going on. When there isn't much spanking, the tension seems to be higher. He did give me a small spanking last week, with the dreaded BS for walking too far ahead of him when we go to the store. I know this bugs him. It's a bad habit I have. I get impatient and I don't wait for him. Sometimes he takes a long time to get out of the car, but I still shouldn't walk so far ahead. The spanking was taken the way it was intended, I got the point. I usually do when the BS is used. I'm hoping there will be more of that in my future. Not just the spanking part, although, that was good, or bad, whichever way you look at it, but the part where we discuss things that upset us and work it out in a timely fashion. Next time we went to the store, I was much more conscience about how I treated him. I didn't leave him in the dust, I waited patiently for him and held his hand and it was much nicer. SEE, just goes to show, spankings can work...haha!

Hopefully we'll get back to that and have less tension around here.

In other news...

I'm very excited about our upcoming vacation. We are leaving the children home and going off on our own. We are meeting some friends that we haven't seen for awhile and I'm SO excited about that. I love my kids, but give me some grown-up time and I am a happy camper!

Next weekend we are heading to a Dodger game. After not being able to attend last year, the wildchild and I are extremely excited to be going. PLUS, after the game there is going to be a Hollywood Stars softball game. I don't know who all is playing, but I think I'm looking forward to that more than the Dodgers...

So, what's new in your life? What are your plans for the summer?

Survived!

My daughter is a high school graduate.

Boy, was it a long road to get there.

If you've ever read my archives, you would find a post about my daughter in 8th grade. She didn't pass her history class and so she was unable to participate in the graduation ceremonies. I was upset that they were still going to pass her on to high school, but they weren't going to let her graduate with the class. I was told that the graduation ceremony was a privilege and not a right. I remember being very disappointed.

Since then, school has been up and down. The week before her first day of high school, she had a friend spend the night and they both snuck out of house. They ended up in a town 20 miles down the road and my daughter had to call at 6 in the morning because the guy that was suppose to drive them home, ditched them. The phone rang, it was her, we thought she was still in her room. Oh, it was horrible. I just kept thinking we were never going to make it through high school. I thought this was just the beginning of a whole lot of headaches!

Thank goodness, I was WRONG! We still had trouble with grades. We had some trouble with her ditching classes. We even had her come home drunk one night. BUT, we survived. Her senior year, she managed to pull her grades up from a 2.0 GPA to a 3.2 GPA! How cool is that? She got an award for that, plus an award for completing 6 semesters in a visual arts class and getting a 3.0 GPA for those classes. She got to wear a silver chord around her neck at graduation for that achievement. How cool is THAT?

The graduation was nice. It was pretty windy, but it wasn't cold. It was long...there were over 500 graduates in her class. But there WAS a streaker!!!! That was pretty funny. I don't think they got caught...LOL It did break up the monotony of calling all those names! I handled myself pretty well, only tearing up a couple of times.

I know you are all dying to know if the MIL showed up. Well, she did. Luckily I wasn't sitting next to her, so I didn't have to hear all her lame comments. My SIL sat next to her and told me some of the things she said....~sigh~

We had a little lunch party after the graduation and the MIL did come. I may have mentioned this before, but my MIL gets very passionate on things especially if you don't agree with her. Only once, did the conversation get a little heated but the people involved walked away and peace was restored. I was worried that Bossman was going to have to play bouncer and kick her out, but she chilled out. Thank goodness.

D, looked good. She's doing well and she had a great time this weekend. We took her to the beach yesterday. Did you know they don't have a beach in Vegas? So she wanted to go to the beach and eat fish and chips. It was very yummy!

This is my view of the graduation. My daughter? She's the one in purple!

If you click on the photo once, it may not enlarge. Try it a second time, it seems to work!

Would you believe...

...that the dog ate my homework?

Actually, remember the "one word" email? Well, I transfered all the words into my blog post. I had a nice witty post talking about how much the words cracked me up. Believe me when I tell you, it was FUNNY!

So, I came in here tonight to put the final touches on my masterpiece and when I opened the post...the post was there, the list of words...gone! Poof! The paragraph before the words and the paragraph after the words was still there, but somewhere along the way, the paragraph with all the words, disappeared! I went back to my e-mail, hoping against hope that the deleted messages were still in the deleted file...no such luck!

So, sorry guys, the words disappeared! But I CAN tell you this...they were good! And funny and smart. You are all very inventive and sweet! But, I have to say the best word that came in was...

Are you ready?

The word was...

Supercalifragilisticexpeealladoetious! Thank you Terpsichord!

In other news, the cat is still alive. I appreciate all the concern and advice about the declawing. We will not be pursuing that route at this time. The double sticky tape on all the corners seems to be curing her of that nasty habit. On the plus side, my nephew keeps sticking to the sofa so that is making my job a lot easier! (Can we just keep this between you and me...I mean really, does my sister need to know this information?)

The birthday went GREAT! My son had such a great day. The party was a success! I ate more cake than I care to admit. I'm glad it's over, but again, must we admit that to my son? I think not!

So, graduation is Friday. D is flying in from Vegas. She's doing ok, but she's not progressing as well as the doctors have hoped. The tumor has shrunk, but I think they were hoping it would be smaller than it is. She will have more chemo in July, so for now, she's in a holding pattern.

I know I haven't mentioned the MIL for a while. There really hasn't been anything to report as we had banished her from the kingdom our lives. Turns out, when banishing someone, it doesn't nessisarily mean they disappear. Even though we weren't in contact with her, she was doling out her evil lies to the rest of the family. None of the family buy into her nonsense, but it was stressing D out! As much as D tried not answering the phone, things just kept getting worse with her mother. The MIL was calling her and complaining non stop about how we wouldn't let her see the kids and how she was going to take us to court for visitation. (Oh how I wish she would have done this, I would have LOVED to go to court and point out how WACKO she is.)

Finally, the MIL had the FIL call Bossman and tell him that SHE wanted to see the little man on his birthday. Bossman told his father that if SHE wanted to see the little man, SHE needed to go through him first. SHE would need to call Bossman, listen to what he had to say, AND abide by his rules!

Friday night, the MIL finally called the house. Luckily, the kids were not home, so it was the perfect time to talk to her. Without bothering you with all the details, it's safe to say she was full of poop. BUT, Bossman told her what he expected of her if she was to come back into the kingdom our lives.

So, she came over on the little mans birthday. It was fake and phony, but the kids were happy to see her AND she didn't say anything inappropriate! For once, she was the one on eggshells and we were NOT!

Just so you know, the main reason this was done was because of D. She was really having a hard time of it and the stress of all the "family" drama was taking it's toll on her. She was stressing out on what was going to happen when she came for the graduation. She didn't ask Bossman to make nice with his mom. She understands where he coming from, but Bossman just didn't like seeing his sister under all that stress.

So, for now, the kingdom is at peace. This doesn't mean that the king will be visiting the peasant anytime soon, but she will probably come for the graduation. BUT, after the graduation, there will be very LIMITED contact with her. Actually, since there is nothing major coming up after the graduation, there will probably be NO contact for quite a while. (I hope, I hope, I hope)

After the call on Friday, Bossman was feeling a little spanky, so guess who got a spanking? He used the BS! Horrible. I tell you, that thing is evil and should be disposed off. I threatened to break it, and was told that if anything bad happened to the BS, he was going to buy a bigger, better one. Is there such thing as a BETTER BS? I don't THINK so! But I'm not willing to find out!

As he was spanking me with the dreaded BS, he decided to pull out his cell phone and make a little video. NOW, before you all get excited, I deleted it. Sorry, but as close as I am to some of you, I'm just not ready to go THAT far with you all. I will say though, it was kind of neat to watch that little clip. My butt didn't look as bad as I thought it would and I didn't sound as weird as I thought I would. It was fun to watch, but I made sure that after watching I deleted it! I wasn't taking ANY chances!

So, that's it. I probably won't post again until next week. I have to clean my house and get ready for the graduation and everything else! I'm tired just thinking about it. My daughter got her cap and gown the other day and I bawled like a little baby! I am excited for her, but I'll be glad when it's over.

Have a good week! I know I will.

to-do list

So, you may have heard, my daughter is graduating next week. My son is turning 10 on
Sunday. Life is crazy. So I thought I'd write out my to-do list.

Order cakes for birthday and graduation

get goodies for goodie bags (10 year old boys, what the heck to do get for THEM?)

get decorations for graduation party

pull hair out

glue hair back in (I don't want to be bald at the graduation, it's outside and my head might burn)

buy new dress

take back new dress because it looks like crap!

clean the bathroom (how does one man have so many whiskers?)

clean carpet in dining room (I will NEVER put carpet in a dining room again, at least with kids in the house)

kill the cat (well, this probably needs explaining...)

shave my legs (only if I can find a dress, otherwise I'm wearing pants and screw the legs)

Oh man, this list is making me tired. There is so much more, but my brain has just locked up and I can no longer think straight. There is one thing I know. These things are going to happen whether I get all that crap done or not. My legs may very well be hairy, the bathroom may well have whiskers in the sink and the carpet will probably not be very clean....but...

My son, my baby will still turn 10. My daughter, my angel, she will still graduate. And I...well, I should probably add, get kleenex, to my list, because there is going to be a lot of crying going on around here.

So, that's what's going on in my life....how about you?

P.S. That killing the cat thing, well, see, it's like this. We just bought a new sofa. It's beautiful chocolate leather. It's a sectional. It's got a big ottoman to put your feet up. Basically, it's fantastic. I'm betting that right about now, you've figured out why I must kill the cat.

The cat has scratched the sofa! BIG TIME!

So, pray for the cat.

*no cats were harmed, although there was a lot of swearing and threating going on.

Week in review

I feel like I've been running around in circles. Things seem to be happening quickly and I am feeling a little out of control.

My daughter, my baby, is about to graduate. This week was mostly about her. Monday was a choir performance, the last, for my girl. She's in the Madrigals, which is the best choir in the school. They sounded wonderful. She had a solo. Of course, she did great. At the end of the concert, they gave roses to all the seniors. Mine started crying. It was very moving. Ok, I admit, there were a few tears in my eyes also.

Remember when you graduated? It was all so exciting. I remember feeling excited and scared at the same time. I remember thinking that these people would always be my friend. HA! I'm not in touch with any of them. I tried to warn my daughter, but like all people her age, she can't imagine the future.

On Wednesday her choir had an awards dinner. They gave out the awards to all the choir members and then gave out awards for different categories. My daughter was voted "Comic Relief". I don't know WHERE she got that from....LOL Apparently, she's the class clown. The paper they handed out to the parents states, "No matter what is going on , we can always depend on a comment or gesture from this person that will make us all laugh. It's is healthy to keep people like them in our lives." Well, it's defiantly been healthy for me to keep her in my life!

After handing out all the awards, they had an "open" mic. The kids were allowed to get up and sing whatever they had chosen. Mine played the guitar for her friend and sang harmony and then later, she did a solo. Ever heard the song "At Last"? My daughter can sing that song better than most. Gives me chills every time she sings it. Pretty much everyone else thought the same, as people were coming up afterwards telling us how much they enjoyed it. Can you say, PROUD?

I just loved watching her with her friends. It made me realize that she has a life that doesn't include me. I've always suspected as much, but seeing her interact with all the other kids, watching them with all their little inside jokes and such, well, it just proves that she's moving on. She's growing up. She's a person that people like to hang out with. She makes people laugh. I'm sad that my time with her being a little girl is over, but I'm so happy that she is such a great person. I'm glad she's able to make people smile. I'm not the only one to smile when she comes into the room.

Thursday night, the wildchild went to Gradnight. For those of you that may not have heard of this, let me explain. Grad night is a night that Disneyland sets aside for graduating seniors. The grads show up around 9pm and stay until 6am. They have DJ's and bands and all sorts of great things for the kids to do. My daughter arrived home Friday morning around 10am. Apparently, she had the best time. She has been lamenting all evening about how sad she is that it is over and wishes she could do it again. I keep telling her to live in the moment, for you won't get these moments back again. The wildchild claims that there were thousands of kids there. After the pictures she showed me....I believe it. My daughter said there were seniors there for Ohio, so I guess people come from every where to participate. I know they have multiple grad nights, for they don't want rival schools coming to Disney on the same night. We know the other schools in our area did not attend this one. Can you imagine being there with all those teens? I attended grad night when I was a senior. It was fabulous. I'm just glad my daughter was able to experience it also.

So, there's my week. Next week is all about the little man. He will be having an open house at his school next week, plus, he will be celebrating his 10th birthday. After that, we have graduation.

Can somebody stop the clock. I don't want this time to end.

So, what's your best "senior" moment? Come on, you know you have one!

Something new

I have a post going on the "one word" email. If you didn't get the email (I don't have ALL ya'll's e-mail, ya know) please, send me an e-mail with one word that you think describes me. I'm having a great time opening these e-mails and seeing just one word. Some of them have CRACKED me up. So, keep them coming, I'm going to write a post about them soon, but don't worry, I won't use your name if you don't want me to.

On to something else. Bossman and I have started something new. Now you all know that the d/d is a little shaky over here. We don't have much consistency or time to consider us in a real d/d relationship. We try, but we just aren't good at it. God knows I wish we were, but well, sometimes beggars can't be choosers.

Ok, here's the deal. I know you aren't going to believe this when I tell you, but it's the god's honest truth. I am pushy. More to the point, I tend to butt in when people are talking to Bossman.

Example, we were getting new tires on the car that we are giving the wildchild. (Actually, we already gave her the car, she was on to us...) While at the tire place, the man was asking Bossman all the pertinent information, name, addy, so forth. When he asked for the addy, I had to butt in before Bossman could answer. I don't know WHY I feel I need to butt in, but I do and it annoys the heck out of Bossman.

So after the lastest episode of me not keeping my big mouth shut Bossman decided it was time to try something new. So, in a new twist, he's decided that when we go out to eat, he's going to order for me.

Since he made this decision, we've eaten out twice. The first time it was just he and I. I had forgotten about the deal so when the waiter came by our table, Bossman jsut ordered for both of us. My first reaction was...HUH? But then I remembered the deal, so I just sort of played along with it. We both sort of chuckled and grinned over it. It was interesting. I've never had someone order for me. I have to admit, I kinda liked it. It made me feel special. Weird, but special.

The second time we did this was tonight. We went out to dinner with my youngest SIL. She's moving to Vegas with D. Partly to help D with things while she's getting treatment for the cancer, and partly to get out of this small town and her life that just isn't going as well as it should. So, we took her to dinner to say goodbye. Again, I forgot about the whole "deal" until Bossman asked me what I wanted to eat. I sort of grinned at him, told him what I wanted. When the waitress came to take our order, she asked ME before him what I would like. I looked at him and he immediately spoke up and said what I would like. The kids and my SIL looked at us like we were nuts and we immediately looked at each other and started cracking up. Bossman just told everyone it was a little thing between us, an inside joke, if you will. All I know is it was FUNNY!

Later this evening, when we were talking over the whole dinner, Bossman said maybe we should continue our little "deal" when there are others with us. I thought about that for a few minutes, but you know, I liked it! I told him that although it was a little embarrassing, it was mostly funny and it made me feel special. It somehow made me feel closer to him. We had a little secret. He was being dominate in public. I LIKED it.

Well, what do you think? Do you ever let your hubby or partner order for you? How does it make you feel? Is this weird or what? Tell me what you think, I'd really like to know!

Thank you all.....

For the wonderful birthday wishes! I really did have a great birthday. I would have to say it was one of the best.

I hope all you mothers out there had a great mothers day. My little nephew turned ONE on mothers day, so we had a nice bbq, at the park, to celebrate both Mothers day and his birthday. It was really nice to spend time with the family and my Mom. We jumped in the jump house, played horseshoes and badminton. Really a fun time. I made a special slide show for my sister of the little man, that included just about all 12 months. It must have turned out great because she cried! Seeing how much he has changed has just amazed us all. It's shocking to me that a little person like that changes so much in such a short time. As you get older, you tend to forget things like that.

I guess I forgot to mention that Bossman bought a new toy.

This is the real picture of it. Isn't she pretty? She's used, but she's cute! I look great in it.

Actually, we had to buy Bossman a new car because we decided to give our other car to the wildchild for a graduation gift. Truth be told, she already drives it, so it's not like it's a big surprise or anything. BUT she thinks we are making her pay us for the car. NAAAHHHHH! We couldn't do that to her. We've decided to let her keep thinking that until graduation. We are going to buy her seat covers and new tires and stuff like that. Oh, did I mention, it too is a mustang? It's older and it's not a convertible, but who doesn't want to drive a mustang?

Ok, truth be told AGAIN, not me. I'm not a huge fan of mustangs. I mean, they are cute and all, but they are not that comfortable to ride in. Not a lot of leg room on the passenger side. The doors are heavy to open. And convertibles? Well, my hair likes to flip all over my face. The hats I try to wear always try and blow off and then I end up with hat hair. Convertible hair is NOT fun and really not that attractive. I will admit, it's nice when you're just cruising around town, but on the highway....not so fun.

I'd like to thank you all for your support regarding the MIL. Bossman did NOT call her for mothers day and that may seem harsh, but it's not. Not when you realize that the person that is your mother, talks bad about you to others. Not when you realize that the person that raised you can only think of herself and not others.

The FIL tried to make a half-hearted plea to his son to call his mother, but the FIL knows that my husband is right about most of this. Bossman and I are willing to admit that there are two sides to every story. BUT, why is it when the MIL is in the same room with 5 other people, she comes out of that room with a completely different story than the rest of the room? That's when you know, you can never win.

Bossman summed it up the best when he said..."It's like someone coming in and telling you your floor is dirty. That's all they say, they come in and say, wow, your floor is dirty. But, the next day, you turn around and tell everyone in the family that this person said, your floor is disgusting. It has bugs and fleas and old food and nasty, sticky stuff all over it."

Is it the same thing? I don't think so. But that's what the MIL hears.

I will say that as a mother I felt bad for her yesterday. I thought of how sad it would be if one of my children didn't want to speak to me again. I thought of how I would do anything in my power to make sure that that, never happens to me. I thought about how I could NEVER ever call one of my children evil and that I would NEVER try and turn my children against one another just to make them on MY side.

And then I thought about how sad it would be to end up being old and all alone.

Unfortunately, that's how it's turning out to be for the MIL.

So, any news on the spanking front? (or is that back?) Nothing new to report here. Time just hasn't been our friend when it comes to spanking. I was suppose to get a spanking for the little fender bender that I had. When I say little, I mean, at least 1200 dollars little. Or more. No, it wasn't in the new car. It actually happened when Bossman was out of town. See some goon parked a trailer behind my car and when I backed out of the garage...well....~sigh~ I think you get the picture now.

In any case, the spanking never happened. This is what happens to us and this is why it's so hard to carry on a traditional d/d lifestyle. Things happen that need taken care of but they just keep getting put off, until finally, it's too late. Spanking for it now really won't help the problem when you wait too long.

It's ok. I'm happy with what I get, when I can get it. So I won't complain too loud. At least not as loud as when I'm actually getting spanked. I complain REALLY loud when that's happening.

And that brings me to another thing. Why do I complain so much if this is what I want? It just seems so backward. Girl wants spanking, girl asks for spanking, boy finally spanks girl, girl complains and whines about it, boy spanks girl anyway, girl finally happy.

Seems a little twisted there, but oh well. At least nobody can accuse me of being normal........

40???

First we did this....

Then HE used this 40 times....

And gave me this....
Because we just got a new one of these (not for my birthday, actually for Bossman)......

We had to pick it up from the mechanic...

In the evening, I THOUGHT just the kids and Bossman and I were going to dinner....

Little did I know, my whole family was waiting at the restaurant for us!

My sister, very thoughtfully gave me these.....

The candle is battery operated so that my arthritic 40 year old hands don't have to use matches. (Isn't she thoughtful?)

And this.....

Well, if you look closely you'll see, it's an old lady cane. Complete with dirty old man repellent and a horn and rear view mirror.

As you can tell, I had the BEST birthday EVER! This is the first time I've ever had a surprise party! And I was surprised. We had a lot of fun and of course, I had to endure the singing while the whole restaurant looked on. My kids thought that was too funny! Anything that embarrasses mom is very amusing to them. I was glad to amuse!

Bossman did an amazing job planning my birthday. And did I mention he got my diamond earrings?

Oh yeah baby...it was a GREAT birthday!

Thanks for all the birthday wishes, I love you all and you all made me smile! Thanks for being a part of my best birthday!

Now I think I'll go eat some CAKE.......

prom and stuff

Prom went GREAT! The wildchild had a great time and all day yesterday kept lamenting that prom was over. She looked forward to it for so long and now that it's over, she can hardly believe it.

The bad news....the new love interest told my daughter, over text messaging, that he could no longer take her to the his prom. A girl that he knows just broke up with her boyfriend and so he feels he should take her.

There are so many things wrong with that last paragraph I hardly know where to begin.

1. How do you ask someone to prom and then back out?

2. Earlier in the day, he asked her what color her dress was, so he could make sure and match....how does someone go from asking that, to canceling out on the whole thing in a matter of hours?

3. Since when is it ok to break up with someone over a text message?

Anyway, the wildchild was heart broken but didn't want to worry about it because she had her own prom to worry about. Turns out she had a wonderful time. She got her nails done, her hair looked beautiful and she even donned fake eyelashes. She looked amazing. Bossman asked if I ever thought our daughter would look like a woman. I have to admit that I NEVER thought this time would come. It sneaks up on you.

I appreciate all your comments about the MIL. This has been hard, but as you all realize, the kids are the most important. She continues to tell others in the family about how horrible we are, things that we've said (lies). Fortunately, we all know how she is, so no one is really buying into her lies. I'm still torn on what I should do for graduation. Do I invite her to the graduation, but not the lunch after, or do I just not invite at all. The graduation is being held outside in a stadium and we could easily avoid her at that, so I'm leaning toward sending the announcement to her for that. Problem is, the rest of the family is coming to the house for lunch after. It will be weird to not have her here, but on the other hand, we are afraid that she won't behave herself and ruin everything. I feel like I'm between a rock and a hard place. But in the end, Bossman says, we are NOT inviting her to our home. He said we should leave it to the wildchild on whether she should be invited to the graduation. He doesn't want the wildchild to come back later and say that we didn't let her invite her grandma. BLAH! I don't KNOW anymore, I just want it to all go away!

Guess what? I'm 39.95. A bargain right? Tomorrow though, the price goes up to 40. Yep, it's the big 40. Seems strange to think that I'll now be in my 40's. But I've got a lot of friends that have assured me that 40 is the new 20! And you know something, I believe them. I think I'm looking forward to my 40's. So many changes will be happening. My kids are growing up, and I'll be able to spend more time with my husband. We are making more money, so we will be able to enjoy life without the financial worries that plagued the 30's. Although I have been dealing with a few health issues, Bossman and I are still pretty healthy and trying to get healthier. So, what's not to like about the 40's? I say, bring them on....I'm ready!

Well, D's having another treatment today. She's going well, so we are grateful for that. Hopefully, that tumor will shrink away to nothing.

So, I guess that's it. Life sure has it's good and bad, doesn't it?

How was your weekend? I would like to know, I'm nosy that way....

I sure hope you have the best birthday EVER!!! You deserve it!
I love you!

grace

I survived!

Bossman is home! The spider has been killed taken care of.

I got into a tinsey, tiny little bit of trouble while he was away. I accidentally backed into something and cracked our plastic bumper. Opps.

I didn't look behind me, and just started backing up. Again I say, opps!

Bossman isn't too pleased with me. I told him what happened and right away he said it deserved a spanking. I'd ask if you all agree, but I think I already know the answer to that question, so I'll not bother you all with that. I'll let you know if I weaseled my way out of this one or not.

We've gotten some news on D. She had a ct-scan and the tumor has gotten smaller. They will continue the treatments until the tumor doesn't respond anymore. Hopefully by then the tumor will be small enough to remove. If not, there will be a transplant. But we aren't thinking about that.

I have to admit, I've been holding out on all of you. We've had a big falling out with the MIL. BIG! HUGE!

It's very stressful and I'm not sure how we are suppose to deal with it. I've written a whole post on it, but it doesn't really explain it the way I want it to.

Somewhere along the way you have to look out for yourself and your family. Normal people look out for their children and would NEVER try and pit one child against the other. My MIL has done this for years. BUT, the straw that broke the camels back is when she brings my children into it. When she tells lies to our kids to make herself look like the victim, well, that is unacceptable.

Bossman finally had to tell his mother not to call our house anymore.

Thats right. We've had to tell her that we can't be in her life anymore. She is not allowed to call our kids anymore. (Well, we told her that, but we told the wildchild that if she wants to talk to her grandma she is more than welcome. But that is up to HER!)

Do you realize how hard this is for us? This is my husbands mother. We love her. We used to do EVERYTHING with the in-laws. Now we've had to cut her off.

It's not something we take lightly. We HATE this. It's been killing me. I feel so bad about it. How do you NOT feel guilty and upset about something like this?

I'm not sure how this will all work out. I'm not sure if she will even be invited to the graduation. At this point, I'm not sure of ANYTHING.

Well, I'm sure of one thing. My kids and MY family....they come first.

So, anybody care to share how THEY deal with people like this? Especially family? Because I've run out of answers.....

Lonely

Bossman is gone. That's right, you heard me....

Bossman is gone.

Oh, ok, so he'll be back tomorrow, but still.....

I miss him.

We are very rarely apart. I can probably count on one hand the times that we've had to be apart for more than 24 hours.

He left yesterday. Won't be home until Wed.

How am I suppose to get any sleep? He's not here. What if there is a scary noise, like there was last night? Who's gonna get up and see if the boogie man is here?

Who is going to take the trash cans out to the sidewalk tomorrow?

More importantly, who's going to kill the scary spider that is up on the wall giving me a hairy eyeball and clearing waiting for me to let my guard down so he can attack me at any given moment?

Anyway, I'm bored. So, if you have AIM and want to chat with me today, I just downloaded it. I let Bossman take my baby laptop with him and we downloaded the chat program so...well...you know, so we can CHAT!

So, if you want to chat, have AIM, look me up. My screen name is my e-mail address.

cal_angel39@hotmail.com

And, if you're not busy, could you come by and kill this spider???

Prom dress

Prom is next Saturday. Actually, my daughter is going to 2 proms. I KNOW, Ms Popularity. This first prom is at her high school. She's going with a friend. Actually a whole group of friends. The second prom she is going with her latest love interest who goes to a different school. He's the captain of the football team. He went to her school last year, that is how they met. But they just started hanging out last month. I think a friend re-introduced them. Since she seems to have a new "love" interest every month, we'll see how long this one lasts.

~sigh~

Anyway, without further ado, I've found a pic of her dress online and I also took a couple of pics of her in it. The pics of her are not that great, I'm thinking I'm going to have to take the pics of the actual prom outside because the inside pics didn't turn out so well.

So, Theresa? What do you think?

day by day

Things change day by day around here.

I was planning a big graduation party, but graduation is on a Friday and I was thinking nobody (except family) would be there. So then I was thinking of having it on Saturday or Sunday. The wildchild has different ideas. She has plans, with people, other than her family! Typical teen.

So, I am actually happy about this because really, who wants to plan a big party anyway?

So we will have a family thing at the house after the graduation and leave it at that. Easy enough for me.

Prom plans are going well. The dress is beautiful. We got a really nice necklace and earrings to match. We are still working on shoes. My girl, she's picky!

Also, my foot is feeling better! I've been taking my nephew out for walks everyday and I went back to the gym and walked on the treadmill again. It still doesn't hurt, so that's a good thing. I just found out that there are pilate videos on my cable ONDemand that I can watch for free! Thanks to Amber! *waves to Amber* I'm going to give that a try.

As for spanking...we've had some of that TOO! Not as much as I'd like, but we've been fitting it in when we can. The wooden spoon got some work in and we haven't seen that one in a while. I think I liked it better in the closet, but I think Bossman had a different feeling. I think he liked it.

So, anything new in your neck of the woods? Tell me something interesting!

This meme was so fun, but I just can't leave it without explanation.

The heart beats on

Well, I took a chance and went to the Y. Bossman called and told us it wasn't crowded and asked if I'd come. I told him I wasn't coming, but the wildchild was going to go. At the last minute I decided to surprise Bossman and show up with the wildchild. Of course, he was on a treadmill that was facing the window and saw us drive by, so there wasn't much of a surprise.

I decided to just walk on the treadmill. They are the fancy ones that will show your heart rate as you walk. I monitored mine and it was fine. Up to about 130 when I was going my fastest and down to 88 when I was done. NICE! I didn't have a heart attack, so that was a good thing. I got going pretty fast and ended up walking about 2 miles in about 45 minutes. Not bad for a beginner.

Now the bad news, I hurt my foot. Actually, my foot is hurting me! I woke up the next day and could barely move my left foot. You know that bone that sticks out on your heel, the back of your heel? That HURTS!

I've had this problem before. It takes a good 2 weeks before it gets better. I decided I wanted to go to the doc and make sure because I was bummed. I really wanted to walk some more. It was fun and I felt good afterward. Bossman made sure and get in plenty of "I told you so's".

I went to the doc and he said to rest it for 2 weeks. So, I now have a legitimate excuse for not exercising. And although you'd think I'd be happy about that, I'm NOT!

I just hope this doesn't turn out to be a chronic thing. I really would like to continue this stuff and having my foot hurt is not good. I'm sure there are some things I could do that don't involve my foot, but walking is where I'm most comfortable. I guess I'm going to have to step out of my comfort zone if I plan on getting into shape.

I would really like to lose some weight. Bossman and I are taking a vacation this summer, (without kids...whoo hoo) and I would like to look fairly decent in a pair of shorts. Plus this vacation will probably involve some walking. My foot cannot hurt!

So, I've got about 3 months until vacation, so my foot better behave itself because I've got to get moving!!!!!!

Is this what getting old is all about? Cuz I don't like it....not ONE bit!

Can you believe it?

With all the excitement of going to D's house for Spring Break, I forgot a momentous occasion.

On March 30, my blog turned 4!!!!

Hooray for me! Hooray for my blog.

Seriously, I never thought I would keep up a blog for such a long time. I thought for sure I would get bored and give it up. Ok, there were some very boring parts, but for the most part, I've enjoyed having this small piece of web space to call my very own.

I've been lucky. I haven't caused much controversy I've made loads of friends and I've got nice little record of what I've been up to for the last 4 years.

I've gone back and read some of my posts. Four years ago, my son was 5, my daughter was in 8th grade. I thought that turning 36 made me old, HA!

2004 saw me mourning the death of my grandmother. My MIL was still a christian and I wasn't sure if my daughter was going to pass on to high school.

And guess what? I survived it! Time has marched on and taken me with it.

Anyway, thanks for the memories dear Blog! Most importantly, thanks for sending me such wonderful friends. It's been such a treat to meet such great people through this blog and I am truly blessed to call you all friends. We may not have met face to face, but I am honored that you have shared a little bit of yourself with me.

So, here's to my Blog! Long may she live!

HUGS!

The worst thing EVER!

Yesterday at 12 noon, my time, the cable/internet went out. It did not come back on until 8 this morning.

GAH! Do you KNOW how hard it is to live without tv and computer???? It was HORRIBLE. I don't even know how I survived! I have prepared for every natural disaster. I have extra water. I have extra food. I keep gas in my car. I have a first aid kit. I have extra clothes, blankets. BUT nobody, NOBODY talks about what happens when you can't watch tv or use the internet. NOBODY!

And, not only that, but last night was the first night that Desperate Housewives came back on. I had to MISS one of my favorite shows.

I just sat in front of my tv with a rag covering my forehead, waiting and waiting. The tv even said, this channel will be available in a moment. A MOMENT people! I waited for HOURS!

~sigh~

I've recovered somewhat. I'm sitting in front of the tv and I'm on the computer and my head doesn't hurt as much anymore. I've heard that I will be able to watch my show on the computer, so all is not lost. Life is much better now!

I have another small problem. My daughter feels the need to go to her prom. I don't know where she got it in her head that I was allowing her to grow up. Some where along the way, she grew up. What the heck? Who authorized this? I'm going to write a stern letter to the management and get this taken care of immediately.

In the mean time.... I have to buy her a prom dress. My daughter thinks she's related to the Trumps. She wants a 200 dollar dress. It could have been worse. Some of the dresses were 4 and 5 hundred. 2 hundred, that's chump change...right?

Luckily, she's had some help from family and friends. She's been working for a lady in our church once a week and the lady gave her 100 toward her dress. How nice is that???

But, there is still shoes, and jewelery and, and, and.....

Ok, just breathe.....head between my knees and BREATHE!!!!

Oh and lookie, lookie at the counter. Only 1 month and 3 weeks until graduation. That means I have to pay for a party, a new dress, and a gift! Oh yeah, a gift. She wants a car.....who doesn't? I thinking of getting her a lap top. What did you get your graduate for graduation? Give me ideas!!! HELP! Actually, she'll be lucky if I even make it to the graduation. I'll be nothing but a big puddly mess.

I better get on that letter to the management...

bits and pieces

I'd like to thank you all for your wonderful English lessons. Although I liked English class in high school, I seem to have forgotten some of it in my old age.

D is doing better. I don't think she fully realized the seriousness of her illness. She saw the surgeon on Monday and was upset because he informed her she could get surgery right now because the tumor is too big. I don't know if I mentioned this, but her tumor is 12cm. That's HUGE. If she got it out now, she'd only have 30 percent of her liver left and she would go into liver failure. See, I sort of knew that, or assumed that, but I don't think it quite sank in for her. I tried to cheer her up the best I could and she is still being very positive. I mean, the chemo WILL shrink the tumor. As a matter of fact the chemo WILL make the tumor disappear...right?

Now, lets talk about the pregnant man. Let me say this first. I don't have a problem with a girl becoming a boy or vice versa. But, this "girl" became a boy and NOW, he wants a baby? So he's using girl parts to do that? This troubles me. And now I'm going to tell you why....(not that you asked, but it's my blog and all, so there.)

First of all, pick a team for god's sake! How can you be a girl and a boy? I mean, I KNOW there are people that have both parts, but PLEASE! If you are going to commit to one sex then for goodness sakes, COMMIT already. Don't decide to be a boy and then decide to be pregnant. It's NOT natural. IF you naturally feel like you're a boy, regardless of how you were born, then don't become PREGNANT! Sorry, doesn't work for me. And what's with all the publicity? Is it really news worthy that someone who was a girl, became a boy and now is having a baby? Does this make a man pregnant? NO! He was a girl already. Personally I'm sick of hearing about it.

This is all my opinion, so therefore, don't be hating if you don't agree...k?

Bossman signed us up for the YMCA. (Why do I have an urge to sing and wave my arms in letter formation?) This sounds like a great way to get in shape right?

I haven't been yet. I have great fear.

Remember when I got sick? Check the archives in November 2006 for the complete story. (see how lazy I am? I can't even bother to find the link for you) Anyway, I still have a tiny little problem with my heart. It likes to beat fast.

Most of the time, it's fine. But sometimes it races for no reason. Sometimes, it just likes to beat in the 100 range.

I am so worried that I'm going to have a heart attack that I don't like to exert myself.

So, I watch my family go to the Y and I stay home, on my fat butt, and worry about my heart.

Listen, I've gone to the doc. He gives me pills. And then....he gives me pills to combat the side-effects of the first pills, and then....he gives me more pills...

I think you are getting the point.

And in case you don't remember....I have an HMO. In case you don't know about the HMO, lets just say this. Going to another doc, not as easy as it sounds.

So, I'm going to the doc for the annual pap at the end of the month (fun, fun, fun). I've decided to tell him that I MUST have a stress test. PLEASE! Give me some peace of mind!

Listen, my mind tells me that my heart is ok. I've had LOTS of ekg's. I've had an echo-cardiogram. My heart looked fine. So, I don't think I'm going to die any time soon, but still....I want PROOF. Is that too much to ask?

My renewed obsession? The Sims! Oh how I love playing God! So much fun. Anyone else like the Sims?

Well, this post has clearly showed you what a boring life I lead. I watch WAY too much TV. (thanks DVR) And I spend too much time playing on my laptop.

It's not much of a life, but it's MY life.

Life goes on

Life goes on around here.

D is doing ok. She had a lot of pain last week, but she's doing much better now. The MIL is crazy as usual...calling D's doctor when D didn't answer the phone one day. ~shakes head and rolls eyes~

Yesterday left me and Bossman alone. (or is it Bossman and I?)

Anyway, he gave me a very nice spanking. The hairbrush was used with vigor. I'm still feeling some of the after-effects today.

I've had my pity party and I'm moving on now. I just needed a few days to sit around, eat cheetos and feel sorry for myself. Then I watch Oprah's Big Give and realize life can be so much worse.

So, enough about me...what's going on in your world?

mental crash

I think I've mentally crashed. I am in no mood for anything. I'm not PMSing, so I know it's not that, but I'm not really sure what it is.

I think all of the drama is starting to take it's toll. I haven't really accepted the way things are now. Constant worry over what will happen with D, constant worry over the MIL are weighing heavy on my mind.

I would like to go back to the Friday before Easter. My biggest problem was trying to figure out what to put in wildchilds Easter basket. As Bossman and I are wandering the mall together, trying to figure out what is appropriate for a 17 year old girl and making sure that it equals the amount we've purchases for the little man, (we have to be fair, they WILL call us on it if we are not!) we got the call that D was in the hospital. I think back to the moments before the call.

I want that moment back. That was the moment when the only thing that I was worried about (other than the Easter stuff) was whether the MIL was going to make an appearance a the Easter dinner and did m*slims even celebrate the holiday?

One moment. One phone call later...

Now I can't stop thinking about death and dying. What about my kids? What if they get some horrible thing? What if they get hit by a car? What if Bossman gets in a car accident? What if...what if....what if?

And to top off the misery, I've been drawn to blogs about death and dying. I can't seem to stop clicking on those blogs and reading about the experience these people went through.

It's morose really. Someone please just shut off my mind. I can't stand the thinking any more!

You don't have to say all the things that people say...

It will be all right...

We can't think of the "what if's".

Life goes on....right?

It's true. Life does go on. After the phone call, we continued shopping. We went to church, we celebrated Easter. We lived our lives, just as we always do.

But I'm wallowing in the things I know I can't change. The things I don't know will even happen. The things that have happened to others.

And I wonder....

What is the purpose of it all?

as promised

After the best spring break EVER, we got home.

Yay home!

Sunday was pretty much a lazy day. I wanted nothing more but to sit on my lazy butt and read blogs and do NOTHING!

The kids had other plans.

As long as those plans didn't involve me...I didn't care.

So the kids found things to do. Friends to hang with, video games to play, stuff of that nature.

Which left me and Bossman.....

alone.

So, since it had been a very long week and an even longer time since we had even thought about spanking....

A spanking was had.

Don't let anyone fool you into thinking that a hand cannot be painful. I'm here to inform you that a hand, Bossmans hand in particular, can be quite painful.

After a long bout with his hand, we moved to the bath brush.

Not sure why this was necessary. Could be because I wasn't really listening. Come on! Who listens when they are getting their butt whacked? So what if I didn't quite keep my hands behind my back.

When I thought the end was near, I was relieved. Great spanking, just the right amount of sting, just enough to get my engines running.

So, why the need to stand in the corner? What purpose is to be had? And why, for the love of spanking, do I need to keep my hands behind my back?

Maybe this was because he was getting ready to use the belt.

I still blame all of you for this travesty in my life. It was all of you that made me express an interest in the belt. Who in their right mind likes being spanked with the belt, besides you all?

ME, that's who!

Monday came. With Monday came piles and piles of laundry...my favorite! Bossman informed me that he would like the house straightened up and the laundry done.

Guess what I did Monday?

I sat on the sofa and blogged and watched a lot of stuff that I had recorded.

In my defense, the DVR was FULL. I needed to watch all that stuff before things started getting lost.

But, Bossman didn't quite see it that way.

Nope, he wasn't a very happy camper when he came home and I hadn't done even ONE load of laundry.

The kids were home. So I wasn't so worried that I would get a bad spanking.

Guess what? He took me in the bedroom, pulled me over his knee, and used the BS, right where it counted.

OUCH!

My buns were still sensitive after Sundays fun, so those whacks with the BS, they hurt. And I was trying hard to be quiet. I didn't want the children to hear.

Needless to say, I got the point. I did 3 loads of laundry yesterday. Sure, I could have done more, but I was busy. I mean, really, I typed out those long posts to all of you. Surely that was more important.

Bossman let me get away with it for now, but I'm suppose to make sure and get the laundry done today.

Guess this means I should be doing laundry right about now.

~sigh~

But, this is so much more fun!

2 posts in one day???

I forgot to mention a couple of things in yesterdays post. I got so caught up in the story that I neglected to mention how the procedure went on Monday.

Everything went fine, there wasn't much pain and she seems in good spirits. Since she didn't have to worry to much about the MIL, she was able to relax and things look really good.

They put the chemo straight into the tumor so there shouldn't be many side-effect. She shouldn't lose her hair or anything. The tumor is feeding off of two main arteries so next month they will probably put some chemo in the other main artery.

I was going to carry on with the story, but I decided to make it short and sweet. It boils down to....

As soon as the door closed and we left, the MIL started yelling and screaming and saying all kinds of horrible things about Bossman. She tried to turn D against her own brother during this time of need. Can anyone say Selfish?

D, bless her soul, stood her ground, yelled right back at her mother and told her to leave.

After an hour or so, after the slaveboy FIL loaded the car, HE went in to say goodbye. D went down to talk to her mother and it was a decent conversation, so it didn't end hateful, at least on D's end.

We probably won't be speaking to the MIL for a long time. At least that is what I'm hoping. We are the kind of people though, that if the MIL was to call and say she was dying, we would be there.

Now, for a short recap on how the MIL handled this entire situation.

1. On the day D found out she had cancer, her mother called her bawling about how the whole family hates her.

2. Same day, she then called D to tell her why she and the FIL were having so many financial difficulties. (Blamed it on the FIL)

I could go on, but I think you get the picture. This is why we went to Vegas. To try and keep the insanity to a minimum. We felt bad that D was left to handle the MIL, but she said she knew it would happen sooner or later and she's just glad that she LEFT!

So there you have it. See why I called the first post selfish? She is undeniably the most selfish, self-centered person I know.

Well, I've typed myself out. I can't think about the MIL anymore.

Look for uplifting posts...

I got a spanking yesterday.....hehehehehe!
