facebook etiquette

Opps..."My BAD!" I accidently deleted this post last night. Thanks for the email comments! I wouldn't have noticed so quickly without having you all keeping me on my toes. AND...for those of you reading this for the first time...you'll appreciate the use of "my bad". LOL

I'm on facebook a lot! I have a lot of people as my friends, some are from my teenage years, some are family, some are from church and some are just people I hang with now. As a matter of fact...some are blogger friends.

Now, my side of the family is pretty spread out. Most of my family in in the Chicago area. That is where my mom grew up and it's where her brother and his family live. Actually, the brother (my uncle) moved to Florida. So see, I've got family in chicago and I've also got family in Florida.

I don't know this side of my family very well. My mom married an army guy and we moved around a lot. I had never met my uncle or cousins until about 5 years ago when my grandma died. Now, we are all on facebook and we are getting to know each other through our comments and our pictures and stuff.

I also have a few of Bossmans family on my facebook. One of them is Bossmans aunt. She lives a few hours from us and we've spent a little time with them on holidays and such. She happens to be the m*uslims sister. Although she's not quite as kooky as her sister...she has issues too.

Last week I posted a video of my daughter performing a song she wrote. She is playing the guitar and singing. She was performing in a coffee shop. I put in on facebook because I'm proud of her and I wanted my family to see what a talented daughter I have, since none of them have met her.

Heres where it gets crazy....(I know, so far this has been a boring story)

As I expected, the usual family and friends commented on what a talent she is. Bossman's aunt..I'll call her K, left a very nice comment. Then...my cousin...we'll call him S, left a comment. The comment was... and I quote:

That was very cool! Tell her she looks and sounds great!

Now, does anyone see anything wrong with that comment? Don't be shy...please..if you see anything remotely harsh or judgemental or bossy, tell me...before you read the rest of this.

Of course there is NOTHING wrong with that statement! It's a very nice statement.

So, why did K feel the need to leave S a comment in his inbox? Not sure...but this is what he sent me....

I got this message from K, I believe. What's up with this?

"The Wildchild's talent can stand on it's own. Telling everyone to tell her she's great is a little controlling, don't cha think. People know talent when they hear it. Tell her yourself, and allow us to do the same. thanks....no offense! "

Did i say something wrong?

Hope you're doing well!

Ok, I changed the names...but this is exactly what he sent me!

I was shocked! Why would she feel the need to email someone she doesn't even know and say something so stupid? He wasn't telling people to tell her she's great...he was telling ME to tell HER that she was great. He isn't friends with her on facebook, they don't know each other, so why would he tell her anything?

Well, needless to say, I was a little ticked off! I mean...seriously? Don't tell my friends what they can and cannot say to me. If he had said something offensive...maybe I could see it....but this? This is just dumb!

So, I wrote her an email...I'll be honest...it wasn't very nice.

I pretty much told her that she must have misunderstood what was being said and that if she has a problem with something that someone says on MY post then she should talk to me about it. Unless I post something controversial, something that I want people to debate...I don't need her to offend people that make nice comments about my daughter!

Then...I committed the unpardonable sin. I deleted her from my friends list!

Now, she did email me back and apologized, but it wasn't a very nice apology, in my book...she sent me this....

Ok OK Ok, my bad. I DID misunderstand. I don't know him, though why does that matter? Anyway, I just know how fragile young talent can be, and I wouldn't want the wildchild thinking that people have to be prodded to tell her she's great. That instills insecurity. Sorry I embarrassed you girl. Pass on my apologies. Though he doesn't sound too forgiving at this point. Please forgive the screw up. I'm a little protective because of my own daughter I guess. Does S own a beebie gun. Sure hope not!

First of all....please don't say "My bad" when apologizing to someone! It's just no good form. It's slangy and it's just something you say when you are trying to be cool. It's fine when goofing around...but if you want to be serious...don't say MY BAD!

Second thing is... My daughter went and read the comments and because she's 18 and immature, she made comments about how ugly she is and how she hated the video. BUT, she thanked everyone for their nice comments. K felt the need to go to my daughters facebook and post on her wall a lecture about how she shouldn't be posting things about herself and she should just take comments nicely.

Now, her point to the wildchild was valid....but....do you lecture someone in public or do you message them in private? AND...isn't it MY job to do the lecturing?

Anyway, back to the point...if I even have one. I deleted her. Now, my kids and my husband did not delete her and that's fine...I don't expect them to. If they want to delete her they can. The only reason I deleted her is because I want to have peace of mine that when I post something about my kids, I won't have her insulting my family or friends.

Does that sound reasonable?

Well, after the last email she sent...I didn't respond. I was over and done with it and I moved on. Oh...I apologized profusely to my cousin and I hope he doesn't stop commenting on my stuff.

So, today, she sent me another email. This is what it said:

I am sorry I offended your friend! I totally misunderstood his comment. My bad, as I said. You didn't have to take me off of your friend list. That's kinda harsh dontcha think. We are FAMILY.

Again with the "My bad"?????

Um....I told her in my last email that he was my FAMILY and I explained the whole thing that I just told you guys....but still...I get this email back.

I haven't responded...instead I come to you. What do you think I should do next? I've already moved on. And although I was upset by the whole thing...it's not like I'll never talk to her again.

So should I make her a friend again? Should I write her another note...or should I just ignore the whole thing? (I like the 3rd option the best)

And finally I ask the biggest question of all...

What's for dinner? What is facebook etiquette, anyway?

Love our Lurkers Day!

I love my lurkers! There....I said it! I LOVE my lurkers!

See, I too, am a lurker. I read tons of blogs without commenting.

I know I should. I mean really....who doesn't love a good comment? Any comment really...except the bad comments...the mean ones...people probably don't like those kind of comments...

ANYWAY...I do love getting comments.

So, why don't I leave comments? Well, most of the time I don't feel like I have anything to contribute. I mean, most of the time, people have left some really great comments and I feel like I just can't compete with what they have said. Sometimes people have already said what I was going to say.

Let's be honest though....

Most of the time, it's just pure laziness. ~sigh~ yes, I admit it! I'm lazy! Sometimes I just don't feel like signing in to blogger, typing out the comment and then...if there is word verification, I gotta try and read the words and type them in and if I get it wrong I have to do it over again and then sometimes blogger eats my comment and I can't remember what the heck I wrote and if it was long then I have to type the whole thing over again and then and then and then.....

Well, I think you are getting the point!

But today...today I'm asking, no I'm begging, Please, please, please please, with sugar on top, will you leave me a comment? It doesn't have to be long. You don't even have to sign your name. As a matter of fact, I can't remember if I have word verification on, but as soon as I'm done typing this...I'm going to turn it off so YOU won't have to worry about that.

Listen, I know, sometimes it's just a pain to leave a comment and frankly, I bet if you've been reading a lot of blogs today, people all over have been begging for your comments. So, you are probably already signed into blogger, which means that is ONE less step for you to do here at my blog.

See, it's easier than ever to leave a comment today!

In all seriousness though, I am very happy to have readers. I do like getting comments and would love to hear from you. So, if you are at all in the mood to leave a comment today, please do. I'll be happy to hear from you!

And, if not. That's ok too! I still love ya for stopping by!

Have a great day!

Thanks

Thank you all for the positive encouragement! Bossman is right...things are never quite as bad as they seem. We thought Bossman was having a tooth pulled last Thursday (the day of the last post) but he will have it pulled Friday. (As in next Friday) They don't seem to think it will be that bad.

We won't know anything about D until Wednesday or Thursday. For now, she's ok.

The other SIL, well, she just needs to pull her head out of her butt and take the help that is offered her. Otherwise there isn't a damn thing we can do for her.

As for the shower....looks like the insurance might pay for some...so we might be able to fix it. Still unsure how it's all going to work, but between the home insurance and the home warranty, we may just scrape by without much out of our pockets.

So, I think I'll take some of the advice you all gave. Since I have it on great authority that the sky is NOT falling down, possibly just some dark clouds, I will enjoy the rest of my house. I will go out in the back yard, watch the birds, breathe the fresh air and remember to enjoy the life I have, dark clouds and all!

I hope you all have a great weekend. Mine is already turning out really nice!

to do list

Take Bossman to get a tooth pulled.

Wait for word on D. Her liver is failing....

Wonder if Bossmans other sister is still living in her car with a broken nose that her boyfriend (hopefully EX!) gave her this weekend.

Tear out shower in new house that has leaked all over the little mans closet. Since it looks like the home warranty and the home insurance won't pay...we will now have to re-do the whole thing ourselves...with money we don't have!

Watch for falling sky.

Where were you when the world stopped turning?

I posted this in 2006. I just added the video.

I'll never forget.

I was still in bed, trying to catch a few more winks before I had to get up and take the wildchild to school. My phone rang. Who could be calling so early in the morning? It was a friend. I met her at the other end of town and she drove her son and my daughter to school. She said he son wasn't going to school that day. Had I turned on the TV yet? No, I hadn't. "It's bad" she said. What? What happened? Something is going on in NY. Turn on your TV. Ok. Thanks for telling me.

I reached for the night stand for the remote. Bossman asks, "what's up?" D just said something is going on in NY and I should turn on the TV.

There is was. A plane had hit one of the towers. I didn't want to look, but I couldn't look away. Should I take my daughter to school? We decided yes, this was too much for a child to watch, and by then, we knew it was the only thing that would be watched on that day.

Right before I left to take her to school, a second plane hit. It was just too much. I got in the car and headed off for the 30 min drive to her school.

In the car I didn't want to turn on the radio. I knew it would be bad. My daughter was only in the 6th grade at the time. She wanted to know what was going on. I told her there was a plane accident in NY. At the time, I didn't know that one of the towers had fallen. I didn't know that terrorist had attacked our country. I didn't know.

At the time, my daughter was going to a private christian school. I knew that whatever was happening, would be taken into consideration at the school. Although I had strong feeling that I wanted to keep my daughter close to me. I knew my daughter would be in good hands.

After dropping my daughter off at school, I turned the radio on. It was then that I found out that one of the towers had fallen. I switched the radio off. I couldn't understand what was happening, but I wanted to get home. I needed to get home to my husband and my 3 year old son. My daughter was safe, I knew that, but I almost turned around to take her home. I didn't turn around, because I knew this would be bad and I didn't want my daughter to see me upset. So I went home.

My son was watching Blue's clues in the bedroom and Bossman was glued to the TV in the living room. I got home in time to see the second tower fall. I went in the bathroom and cried.

The rest of the story doesn't need to be told. I'm sure everyone has a similar story to share. It's a day that will forever be etched in our hearts and our minds.

I'll never forget.

God Bless America!

clocks and flu

Our bedroom is bigger now. We had a stereo in our old room. It had a clock on it. Because the alarm clock is on Bossmans side of the bed, I always used the stereo clock as my main clock in the night.

Without the stereo, I can't see what time it is when I wake up. This was a problem. So...Bossman and I decided to buy another clock for the room.

We head to the store to buy a clock. Since the room is bigger, we thought we should get one with big numbers. Turns out, you can see this clock from the MOON!

Even on the dimmest setting this clock is BRIGHT! So bright, in fact, that the other night, while laying in bed with Bossman, we were discussing the clock and I was complaining that it was way too bright. To prove my point I started making shadow puppets on the wall. That's how bright this clock is! Of course, we both started cracking up. (I suppose you had to be there...LOL)

Well, the clock has a new home in the garage. Sorry, but I like sleeping in the dark, not with a sunlamp lighting the room.

Now lets get to the serious stuff. The little man is sick. He's been sick since Sunday with a fever that won't go away. My sister was here Saturday for a BBQ with her family. Turns out my sister tested positive for the swine (H1N1)flu on Tuesday. I took the little man to the doc on Tuesday and the doc didn't think he had the flu, he thought he had a sinus infection because although he had a fever he didn't have any other flu symptoms. BUT....yesterday I got a call from a friend whose son had hung out with the little man the day he got sick. The boy came home sick from school yesterday. I told her about my sis. She took her son to the doc which performed a h1n1 test on him and it was negative...he just has the regular flu.

So, I'm pretty sure that my son has the flu. Today is the first day he hasn't run a high fever so I think he's finally getting better. Whether he has swine flu or not...I don't know. But since he's on the mend, I guess it doesn't matter, unless the rest of us get it. So far...the rest of us are good!

Oh, and my sister is doing fine also!

still unpacking

So....we are still unpacking. Who knew I had this much junk stuff? I thought I got a rid of a lot of things, but it turns out...I didn't. Luckily, there is a lot more space to store stuff...so all my junk stuff looks really organized!

I don't have much to write about. Bossman has hinted on several occasions that he was going to straighten me out...but so far, nothing. Some could call this a good thing, but I don't. I'm cranky and disagreeable. I can't help it, moving brings out the worst in me.

If you get bored this weekend...please check out my new favorite website. I promise you will laugh! The website is http://awkwardfamilyphotos.com/

Hope you have a great weekend!

Hey diddle diddle

As I was unpacking a box of books, I came across some old books that my mother had given me last year. Most of them were nothing of interest. I did find an old nursery rhyme book. Some of the front pages are ripped, so I looked it up online and it was first copywrited in 1947.

Anyway....this book is super funny! Some of the poems are old favorites like "Mary had a little lamb" and things like that.

But, I didn't know some of the other verses of these poems. For instances, "Old Mother Hubbard", we all know the first verse:

Old Mother Hubbard, went to the cupboard
to get her poor dog a bone.
But when she got there
the cupboard was bare
and so the poor dog had none.

But...did you know the second verse?

She went to the bakers
to buy him some bread,
but when she came back,
the poor dog was dead.

WHAT? The poor dog died? How could this happen? And furthermore...this is a childrens book! But don't worry, this is the third verse.

She went to the fruiterer's
to buy him some fruit
but when she got back
he was playing the flute!

Isn't this the funniest thing? Bossman and I were cracking up. One minute he's dead and then he's alive again. Nothing like confusing our children.

Another poem I found is really my all time favorite. I had never heard this poem before. After reading it Bossman and I have decided it's a tad on the pornographic side.

Here's the poem...tell me what you think.

Little Pussy

I like little Pussy
Her coat is so warm;
and if I don't hurt her,
she'll do me no harm.

So I'll not pull her tail,
Nor drive her away,
But Pussy and I
Very gently will play.

She shall sit by my side,
and I'll give her some food;
and she'll love me because
I am gentle and good.

I'll pat little Pussy,
and then she will purr,
And thus show her thanks
for my kindness to her

I'll not pinch her ears,
nor tread on her paw,
Lest I should provoke her
to use her sharp claw.

I never will vex her,
nor make her displeased,
For Puss doesn't like
to be worried or teased.

By Jane Taylor

Maybe Bossman and I have a sick sense of humor...but this poem just cracked us up. I actually hate the word "pussy" and this poem is just over the top. If you read it with a sexy voice...it can be very erotic! LOL

Lastly, for all you spankos, I found the perfect poem for you!

There was a little Girl

There was a little girl, who had a little curl
Right in the middle of her forehead,
and when she was good, she was very, very good,
but when she was bad she was horrid.

She stood on her head, on her little trundle bed,
with nobody by for to hinder;
She screamed and she squalled, she yelled and she bawled,
and drummed her little heels against the winder.

He mother heard the noise, and thought it was the boys
playing in the empty attic,
she rushed upstairs, and caught her unawares,
and spanked her, most emphatic.

This one was by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.

Ah, childrens poems. Who knew they could be such great entertainment?

Drive by blogging

I haven't much time to blog. I should be cleaning or unpacking something. But my back aches and my feet hurt and everyone is gone for the moment...so I will give you all a quick update.

Having your own house is fantastic but moving SUCKS! (and not in a good way)

We've lived in our rental for 8 years. The carpet is 19 years old. You don't realize how dirty you are until to take everything out of a room...or a whole house. We are freaking dirty people! I am disgusted at how much dirt we were living with and didn't even notice!

Luckily, we don't have to clean the carpet or do much to the walls, as they will be painting and replacing carpet.

As for the new house...it's great! It's full of stuff and I am so overwhelmed I don't quite know where to begin. I can't seem to make the furniture work the way I want it...so everything is sort of haphazardly placed until I can take the time to fully think about it.

One of our dressers was old and someone fell on top of a stack of drawers and they all BROKE....so I have clothes scattered everywhere...I'm not sure what we are planning on doing about that!

Other than that....we are still alive! Thank goodness I have a full week to clean the old place...I've been going there everyday and doing a little scrubbing...fun fun fun!

Oh and guess how we introduced ourselves to the new neighbors? We had the little man crash his bike in the middle of the street! That happened yesterday and THANK goodness he didn't get hit by a car. The little man was down the street when it happened and Bossman was out working in the garage when a neighbor comes running down the street, asking if he was the little mans father. Bossman takes a look down the street and sees the little man sprawled across the road. And people holding up his head. He thought the little man had been hit by a car. I was at the store and I got the frantic call to come home immediately! I got another call a few minutes later saying the little man was fine but was pretty banged up!

He's fine, just some road rash on his left side of his body...head, shoulder, hand and knee! Poor kid!

Oh, I don't recommend that method of introductions. Going to the door with cookies would probably be a better choice!

Anyway, that's what's going on in my world....now I better get going I gotta go clean or unpack something!

termite tent

Since there were some that didn't quite know what a termite tent was....I thought I would post a pic. Mind you....this isn't my house. My house won't be tented until next week.
So...here you go.....a termite tent!

They will leave then tent on for 24 hours....then let the house air out for another 24 hours and THEN....we will finally get to go into our new house! We will probably be able to go in on Thursday or Friday of next week.

Termite go in....but they don't come out!

Anyway...that's what's going on in my world. I'm glad to see there are still people getting spanked! I'm heading over to MaryAnns to read about her spanking!

After that....back to packing!

Just checking in

Just thought I'd pop in and say a quick "hi."

HI!

So, what's new with you? Things good? Life good? Everyone doing ok? Has anybody, beside Ronnie, gotten a good spanking lately?

I'm insanely jealous that the LA Kink group got together without me. I'm so sad that I couldn't be there! Remember being a kid and your friends ask you to come out and play and your mom says no because you have to stay in the house and do your chores? That's how I felt this weekend! SAD! (This is the part where you all lavish me with sympathy and tell the gang how mean they were for meeting without me!)

Actually, I am glad they got to meet. I'm sure we will get together again and when we do, it will be all the more sweeter! I am so excited about the house, I can almost forgive them for meeting without me!

So, no spankings to report here. Things are busy, busy, busy! I can honestly say, I really, really deserved a spanking last week. But things got hectic and I think Bossman forgot about the "incident".

I suppose some of you detail whores (PK) want to know exactly what a perfect little angel like me needs a spanking for. It's not that exciting really.

Really, it's not.

See, last week, my neck pain was acting up. The neck pain is an ongoing issue with me. It's sort of a medical mystery. I get it every 6 to 8 months. It's a radiating pain, sort of an ache, in my neck and shoulder. It's not a sore muscle. I can move my arm and shoulder freely. But it throbs. And it moves. And it hurts worse when I breathe. Since breathing isn't really something I can stop doing, that's kind of the problem. I noticed that it hurts really back when I'm breathing heavy.....like walking fast....or sex. You know, things that make you breath more...

It also hurts more when I sit on something soft like my sofa or if I slouch and don't sit up straight. Laying down is also painful, but after laying down for a few minutes it tends to get less painful.

Doctors don't know what it is. It comes when I least expect it...hangs around for a week or two and then is gone as fast as it came. I've had tests and x-rays, but nobody really knows what it is.

Anyway.....I think it has to do with some sort of inflammation. There is some medication that the docs gave me for it...but it makes me feel weird and I don't really think it helps. BUT...Bossman thinks I should take it.

I see his point. There have been times when I've taken it and it has gotten better. But I don't know for sure if the meds helped it...or it just was one of the times when it died down. (it does that) So, when I got the pain last week, Bossman wanted me to take the pills.

He brought them to me while I was laying in bed and then he went into the bathroom. I pretended He thought I took them....and I didn't tell him that I didn't. He just ASSUMED I took them. (we all know what happens when you assume things!)

Later that day, we were out running errands. He asked me about the pain and the pain wasn't too bad. It seemed better. So I told him that it was feeling better. He said, "I guess those pills helped." In the "I told you so" tone of voice.

I couldn't help it.....I had to tell him the truth. I had to tell him I didn't take the pills. If I hadn't told him, he would have continued to think the pills were helping and I wanted him to know that the pain was less...without the pills!

So, I told him.

He said if ever there was a time I need a spanking.....it was then! Good thing we were in the car and not at home.

Since then....we just haven't had the time and I think it's been forgotten. BTW, the pain is still around a little, but I hardly notice it. I think it's on it's way out.

Other than that....we've been doing nothing but packing. The house is full of boxes. The papers are getting signed today. The money is exchanging hands on Friday. The termite tent is going up on Monday and we will be able to start moving next Thursday!

Next Thursday is also the first day of school! YAY! So between all the packing and moving, I have to go school shopping with the little man. Who, by the way, is NOT so little. The boy is 11 and I have to buy him adult sized clothes! He already a size 8 and 1/2 in shoes and that is MEN size. He has also outgrown the boys department in pants and shirts!

When did he decide to grow? Who allowed this to happen? I know I didn't give permission for this.

As for everyone else....things are going fine. D is still on treatment and feels like she has a new lease on life. She's planning a visit for next month...so we are excited about that. The other SIL is doing ok.... Don't get me started on the MIL....she's decided to start calling me again....THANK goodness for caller ID! AND......

The wildchild has decided to move to Arizona. Her plan is to move in the beginning of next year. She saving up her money for the big move. Don't ask me why she wants to move so far away...I don't know why, other than she has found out it's way cheaper than CA, and she wants to live in a bigger city. She has no interest in school, so don't ask what she's going to do for a living. BUT, she's 18 and she has not responsibilities....so I guess if she wants to take on this adventure then....good for her.

I'm betting she'll be home in 6 months! LOL

I guess that's if for now. I am hoping to get back to this blogging thing after the chaos dies down. Maybe I'll have something thought provoking to blog about. (keep dreaming grace, keep dreaming!)

Until then...I hope all is well with you! I'm still around and still try to read some blogs when I'm trying to relax.

Enjoy the end of summer!

ZZZZZZ!!!!

I can't believe we made it to Z! There have been weeks when I've thought of skipping it and I think I was late a couple of times but YAY! I made it!

Before I get to the Z's I'd like to give a small update on life. Both of the SIL's are doing well. Well, D is doing GREAT and is so happy that the cancer is retreating! She feels like she has a new lease on life! I am so happy for her and selfishly, I'm happy for the rest of us. I certainly wasn't looking forward to a life without D!

As for the other SIL...well, who knows? Bossman has offered to help her get on her feet, but she is unwilling to do anything to help herself. She is in denial that she has any sort of drinking or drug problem. Everyone that knows her, knows she has problems with both. Not much you can do with someone when they don't want to admit they have trouble and are unwilling to do anything to help themselves. All I can do now is pray that she doesn't try it again.

Isn't in ironic that I have one SIL that want so bad to live and has had to fight for her life and one that is ready to throw it all away at the drop of a hat? The MIL has surfaced. We've only had contact with her about 3 times this whole year. Out of the blue she decided to call. Of course there was a whole lot of denial. Of course SHE didn't do anything to cause us to not want to talk to her and she can't understand why any of us wants to stay away from her. Of course she thinks that it's all about her being a muslim. (it's not...but she doesn't want to admit that she's done anything...so being muslim is a good excuse for us to not talk to her...right?) Of course, she knows that Bossman won't talk to her...so she calls during the day when she knows I'm home and she blocks her number so I don't know who's calling.

Of course!

But I am a good DIL and I have talked to her a couple of times. I've been very nice and she's been nice too. If I only have to speak to her once in a while...I can handle that!

As for the house.....WE got it! The underwriter has signed off the loan and we are giving our 30 notice on Friday! We will probably be moving the weekend of the 20th of August! I can't WAIT! I'm so excited! Bossman is taking the last 2 weeks of August off of work so we will have 2 weeks to move. It's going to be a chore moving 8 years of stuff...but I'm looking forward to sorting through all the stuff! I'm sure that after a day or two of sorting...I'll be sick of it!

So, that's life in Graceland....things are humming right along!

Now...on to the Z's!

Zebras
zippers (sexy when pulled down....YUM!)
zoinks! Scooby and Shaggy are my favorite!
ZZZZZZZ I love my sleep! My bed is comfy!

Well, I guess I can't think of any other z's! I sure did enjoy doing Gratitude Tuesday! It's nice to take time and be thankful...especially when life is sucking!

So, go....be grateful!

Y?

Just when you thought life was getting good. The good news from D was amazing and it turns out it was even better. There were over 20 tumors in her lungs...2 months ago. Now they only see 3. How's that for good news?

Yes, last Monday was great until.....

I was home alone Monday evening. Bossman was playing softball and the little man went with him. The wildchild was at work.

I get a call. Without boring you with the details, the call came in stating that Bossmans youngest sister (she's about to be 30) was found on the beach unconscience. Apparently, she tried to commit suicide.

I didn't know what to do. I didn't know if she was dead or alive. The in-laws didn't call me...it was someone-who knew someone-who got a text from someone, type of thing. I thought of calling the in-laws, but it's been so long since I had talked to them, and I didn't have their number. I knew Bossman had his Dad's number...but he was playing a softball game and I knew he probably won't answer. I would have gone to the softball field...but it's about a 20 minute drive from my house and by the time I got there the game would have been over.

What to do..what to do? I decided to call the hospital to see if she was there. I told the hospital I was her sister. I DO have the same last name, so it wasn't a stretch. This is exactly what I said. "Hi, someone called and told me my sister was brought to the hospital. Can you confirm if she is there?"

They said I had to talk to my father.

I freaked OUT! Seriously. I thought she was dead! By this time, I knew the game was probably wrapping up, so I tried Bossman's cell. He picked up! I tried not to freak out on the phone...but he could tell by my voice that something was bad. I told him and he phoned his dad immediately. He called me back within 5 minutes and said she was still alive but in a comatose state.

Apparently she took a handful of tranquilizers. She had been texting people and telling them that the next time they saw her she would be dead. Some of her friends started looking for her. Thank goodness....someone went to the beach and found her there unconscience. If they hadn't found her in time....well.....you know.

Anyway, long story short, the next day they put her in a pych ward for a night and now....lo and behold...she's fine.

But, she's not fine. She's got serious problems, but doesn't want to face them. There isn't much you can do when a person doesn't want to help themselves. She says she's going to get counselling. Oh how I hope this is true!

I can't tell you how scared I was. I really thought she was dead. I've known her since she was 7 years old. I took her on her first scary ride at the amusement park. Yeah....it was scary scary stuff.

So...on Y day, I have to ask Y? Why do that to yourself and then claim you are OK? Why put your family through such a scary thing and then deny that you have problems?

Seriously....I don't really want to know the answers to those questions. They don't have answers really. It's a mental thing that I can't understand. I know that...I just want to know why.

I think you have to be brave to kill yourself. Most people would probably disagree and say it's a cowards way out. I don't think so. I can't imagine killing myself. I am not that brave. I could never ever go through with it. I would be too scared. Maybe that's the key. Maybe if life is scary for you, killing yourself isn't so scary.

I don't know. I'm just typing things that are popping into my head.

Anyway, I am grateful today. I am grateful that she is still alive. I am grateful to her friend for finding her in time. I am grateful for Bossman, who is by far the best big brother a person could ever have. She is lucky to have him for a big brother.

Y...lets think of other Y things.

Yo yo's
yams (with marshmellows)
yawns
Yarn
Yippee
Yoodle
Yikes
Yes (isn't it nice when the answer is yes?)
yard stick (don't know why I, but I think yardsticks are HOT)
yard sales (I LOVE going to yardsales. There are so many good things that people don't want...LOL)
yearn
yellow
Yosmite
Well, that's all I can think of. It's been a rough week, but it could have been worse. We should know by Friday if the loan is a done deal on the house. THEN...I can start packing!!!

I hope your week was better than mine. Mostly I hope you all have a great week. I know I'm going to try!

Gratitude Tuesday...a day early

I know it's not officially Tuesday...but in Australia it is. So technically I'm not a day early.

Oh well, it doesn't matter if I'm early, the news I have to share is so good, it just can't wait until tomorrow. I'm so incredibly grateful, I can't STAND it!

The good news? You want the good news?

Eh, you can wait for it! First I want to give you my X list. (HA, Amber...I AM going to do the X's...LOL)

X-ray: How glad am I that we have x-rays and MRI's and CT scans and such? Where would we be without those things to tell us if something is wrong? My SIL, D, would be dead without that kind of technology.

Ok, fine I don't have any more X's! BUT, I do have really good news and I think I'm ready to tell you about it now.

D is in Houston getting scans to see if the treatment is working for her cancer. I just got a call from her......

The cancer in her lungs is 75% gone! That's right! 75%! The cancer in her bile ducts is cut in half and the tumors in her liver has shrunk significantly!

YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYA!

The doctors told her that they haven't seen anyone make this kind of progress in this short of time. She's only been on the meds for 2 months! They said she is the number one patient. OMG! This is so exciting I have goosebumps just typing this!

So yeah, We are all pretty grateful here in Graceland today! It's seems like it's a miracle! Miracles happen people! Hope is always there, even when people say there is no hope.

I know God had a hand in this. But whether you believe in God or not, it's still amazing! I'm so very grateful for the doctors and the scientist that made this possible. Sure...we don't know what the future holds. But we know that for now, the future looks AMAZING!

One more thing I'm grateful for is YOU! You have sent up prayers and good thoughts for someone you didn't even know. This is such a gift. Every thought and prayer was heard and appreciated. That's why I just HAD to come here first and tell you all the good news!

Take the time today to be grateful. As a matter of fact, take the time everyday to be grateful! There are so many things to be grateful for but it's sometimes hard to see them. Life is good...let's not waste a second being ungrateful!

It's not you...it's me.

Let's be honest...I am not in a blogging mood. I forgot today was Tuesday and so I didn't get a W list up. I barely remember to do the friday fill ins and frankly...

I'm not having fun on this blog anymore.

Look... It's not you, it's me.

I haven't had a thing to write about in a long time. Boring, mundane things like the new house (might have to be tented for termites), the kids, (still good and enjoying summer)or even Bossman, (still my hero) are not even keeping MY interest.

No, I'm not shutting the blog down. That would be liking pulling the life support plug on my best friend. So, I'll keep the blog here. I like knowing that when the world is rough, I still have a place to write my thoughts and get feedback.

But, you and I both know that this blog needs some life support and right now, I am not in the mood to give it that.

Really I'm just hoping that if I say all this, that some ideas will now come flooding into my brain and out my fingers and onto my computer screen.

A girl can hope!

All this really means is that I don't have a list for gratitude Tuesday and I'm too lazy to write one. This doesn't mean I'm not going to post. I'll still try to remember Friday fill ins...only because I enjoy them and I will TRY really hard to do an x list. (yeah, like x will be easy...LOL)

BUT... if I'm not around much, blame it on summer. Or laziness. Or Congress. I don't care who you blame, but don't blame me.

Oh and since I'm here....heres some really great things that I'm grateful for that begin with W.

whips (ok, I don't really have any first hand experience with a whip...but I think they are sexy to look at. Also, just a note...I don't really CARE to experience a whip. In case Bossman is reading this...)

whipcream Whip cream is very sexy. Plus it's very tasty. Don't you love squirting the whip cream into your mouth? LOVE IT!

Weekends Who doesn't like the weekend?

wonder I love the look of wonder in a babies eyes the first time they see something new. Just awesome.

winter I love cold winters, which we don't get much here. Fireplaces and hot chocolate make winter wonderful.

Did you really think I'd leave ya without a W list???

It's Friday!

The inspections went well! YAY for us. Seems now we just have to wait for the appraisal and then once the loan is secured we are IN. Although we are pre-approved, things can still go wrong...so I'm just not going to worry about it. (yeah, right!) If it's meant to be, it's meant to be...and if not...oh well.

I hope you all have a great 4th of July! Those of you across the pond? You can still have a great 4th, and 5th and...well you get the point, right?

Here's my Friday fill-ins....enjoy!

1. When I heard Michael Jackson was dead, I was shocked.

2. Spankings are best medicine.

3. It's late, but I always watch Will and Grace before bed.

4. Bossman is my soul mate, always.

5. My eyes have seen the work of God, and it was a miracle.

6. Bossman used the wooden spoon this week strongly.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to hanging out with the family, tomorrow my plans include a 4th of July BBQ with my sister and family and Sunday, I want to just hang out with Bossman!

Updates

The wildchild didn't get into American Idol. She was there all day long and she said her group had a bunch of amazing singers and none of them got through. We knew it was a long shot. I am so proud of her. She has wanted to try out for years and every year there is a problem. She finally did it. It's too bad she didn't get through, but that's the breaks!

Other news....

D is doing GREAT! She's been on an experimental drug and she goes back to Houston in July to see how well it's working...BUT... she got a blood test back and the numbers were the lowest they've ever been! She was so happy she was crying! She had to tell me right away that it was good news because she was crying so much. So we are extremely happy with this news! We will know for sure how things are going in July. She has a friend that has been on this drug for 2 years and she is virtually cancer free. We are all very encouraged with this good news!

More news....

We are having all the inspections on the house today. So, if those are are good, we will be 95% home owners. Things can still go wrong with the loan, but our morgage guy seems to think everything will be fine. So, I'm getting excited. Our own house? I never thought it would happen. Of course, now that I'm getting excited and dreaming of painting and decorating...NOW something will fall through...right? Well, all I can do is hope and pray that it all turns out ok! I want this house! I can't wait to move into it.

Spanking news...

OUCH! Have I mentioned that spankings hurt? It's been a little while since I got one and uh, yeah, it's true what they say....spankings hurt worse if you haven't had one for awhile. Or maybe I'm just a wuss! OR, maybe it was the damn wooden spoon. But the good news is, we are still doing the spanking thing. And I am happy about it! Although, now that I think about it, I'm not so happy about it when he's actually doing it. No, I'm not happy about it at all. I'm ashamed to admit this but... I do whine and complain. I know, you are shocked by this revelation. I'm sure you are thinking that it's not possible that I whine and complain. I'm sure you thought that I take my spankings like a lady. HA! You couldn't be further from the truth. I'm sorry to burst your bubbles, but I can't help it.

Well, I guess that's all the updating I have for now. Are any of you as surprised as I am that it is already July? Where does the time go?

So, that's my update! How are you? What have you been doing this summer? Am I the only one that thinks spankings hurt?

V day

Today is the V's! Only 4 weeks of gratitude Tuesday left. Hard to believe that we've almost finished the alphabet. I've had fun with it!

So, let's see if I can think of V words that I am grateful for.

Vests? Nope, not really grateful for vests.
Valentines day? Uh, no. I think that is a dumb holiday that is just making the card companies rich. Why do we need a day to celebrate love? I think we should do that everyday!

I do like my vaccumm. We have a kirby...which is like the king of all vaccumms. It's so powerful that it's messed up the padding under the old carpet in our house. The carpet is super old...but still.

Villages are cool. When I was a child we lived in Germany. The villages are so cute there. You can be on the highway and then suddenly you go through a small village. I miss that.

I do like a good vacation. Unfortunately it doesn't look like there are any vacations on the horizon for me. That's what happens when you buy a house. You have no money left.

I totally got into the Twilight seris so now I am in love with vampires! That Edward Cullen pushed all my buttons!

Out of all the flavors of ice cream in the world, I'm a true vanilla at heart! (hard to believe huh?)

I do love our vehicles. There was a time, not that long ago, that our vehicles sucked and we could barely make it across town!

I can't wait until this house is vacant!

What kind of girl would I be if I wasn't grateful for my vagina?

I love visiting Vegas! My SIL is there, (update on her tomorrow) and it's just fun. But my favorite part of Vegas? The valet parking!

So, I guess that's it for our V's! I thought it was going to be hard, but it turns out that it was easy once I got started.

The wildchild is in LA, as you read this, trying out for American Idol. Of course we all know that the chances are slim that she will make it on the show, but who knows what could happen. She has a beautiful voice, but they only give you about 30 seconds to wow them before they move you on. You have to jump through about 5 hoops and if you manage to pass through all of them...you get an audition with Simon and the gang. If the wildhchild does manage to pass through all the hoops tomorrow, she won't get the auditon with the gang until 3 or 4 weeks from now.

I know the wildchild can make it in the music industry. But she has to work hard at it and get in with the right people. Of course we all know how hard it is to make it in that industry, so.... who knows!

In any case, she's having quite an experience. She and her friend are planning on being there at 3 in the morning. Whatever happens, she'll have quite a story to share.

That's it for today...now go out and be grateful!

TGIF

Happy Friday Everyone!

1. She had a great set of knockers. (At least I think Bossman would say that about me...LOL)

2. Bossman is by my side, always.

3. I know this: Buying a house is stressful business!

4. Life is good, still.

5. These words apply to me: Stressed, happy, healthy and tired.

6. The day I got married the sun was shining.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to having the youth group over, tomorrow my plans include hanging out with Bossman and Sunday, I want to try to not worry about the wildchild, who is heading to LA to try out for American Idol!

Guess what?

Looks like we are in escrow!

Ok, I'm not sure what that means. I mean, I know that I signed some papers saying I wanted to buy a house and I guess that means we are getting the house unless.....

We have 17 days to back out of the deal if we want to. We also have 17 days to get the inspection and the pest report. If both of those things check out well, the house will be ours. Unless the bank changes their mind and decides not to lend us money after all. So, yeah. The house is almost ours! I won't count on anything until I have the keys in my hot little hand!

~other news~

I don't have any other news. There haven't been any spankings lately, but then again, I've been a complete angel, so there has been no need to get a spanking. ;)

If I must be truthful...well, we just haven't had any time to think about spanking. Summer is here, so the little man is home a lot more and Bossman has been super busy with work and his band. Of course there is this little thing of buying a house that has us both a little stressed!

I'm not worried though. Bossman hasn't lost interest, we just haven't had the time. So, everything is good.

Now, who's coming over to help me pack???

You, you, you, you, you...I wanna talk about U!

Can you believe we are already on the U's? Seems like yesterday we begain this little journey to gratefulville!

I know today is the U's. I am grateful for things like Umbrellas, unicorns and underwear. (especially when pulling them down...LOL) I also am in love with unicycles, ukelelies and uncles.

But really I am grateful for U! I know, I should save this for a few weeks when we are on the Y's, but when you are grateful for something, why should you put it off. Tell the world, I say!

So, I'd just like to say that I am grateful for all of U. U make this blog fun. I am comfortable telling U things about my life knowing that U all will be supportive. I can bounce things off of U and U will tell me your opinions. I may not always answer my comments, but I read them and I think about them and sometimes I even take your advice. So even though we may not be real life friends, we are real life friends. I take from here and use it in my every day life.

So thank U all! U all are the best! I appreciate U all!

Now go...be grateful!

the weekend

Bossman went out of town this weekend. A business associate gave him VIP tickets to the Nascar race. Since there was only two tickets I decided to stay home with the little man and Bossman took his father to the race. They left on Saturday and didn't come home until 1am on Monday morning. The little man and I went to the movies on Saturday night and we ended up going to the zoo on Sunday. It was nice spending time with my little man, but I sure did miss Bossman.

So that was my weekend....

My sister came back from her trip to see our father. I haven't spoken to her yet, but she did post pictures on facebook. Since I am nosey curious, of course, I took a peek. Weird thing.... After seeing them, I realized something very important. I realized that I have no need to go visit him. I have no need to see him. As I looked at the pictures it made my stomach hurt. I didn't get a warm fuzzy feeling. I was looking at a stranger. I was surprised that I had that gut reaction when I saw the picture of him. I've since gone back and looked again and I still get the same reaction. I guess that means I don't really need him right now.

Maybe someday. But for now, I think I'll just not worry about it.

~house news~

We have put an offer in on a different house. We got a counter offer and I think we are going to accept the offer. We want to go look at the house again before we sign anything and I think that is going to happen today or tomorrow.

We found out the other house had a price drop. We also found out that there is a problem with that house that will cost 20 grand to fix. Oh yeah, 20 grand! Thank goodness we didn't sign up for that house. The only way that house would work for us is if they drop the price 20 grand. I have a feeling that house will be on the market a long time!

That's what going on over in Graceland. Things are busy, life is good.

How's your summer going so far???

Friday fill-in

1. All children alarm their parents, if only because you are forever expecting them to listen to you.

2. Show me a good loser and I will show you a good game to play.

3. A good spanking with sex after is like eating an entire box of chocolate liqueurs at one time. (Filling, but satisfying....)

4. Too bad that all the people who know how to run the country are busy giving TV interviews and not left alone to do the job.

5. I have yet to hear a man ask for advice on how to combine boobs and butts.

6. It is impossible to think of any good meal, no matter how plain or elegant, without sauce or pasta in it.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to finishing up vacation bible school, tomorrow my plans include taking the little man to the drive-in and Sunday, I want to take the little man to the beach!

I'd like to wish all the Fathers a very happy Fathers day for this Sunday. We all know where I stand with my father, so I like to celebrate the father of my children on Fathers day. Bossman was lucky enough to score some Nascar tickets for this Sunday. One of his associates gave him two VIP tickets. Since the race is in Sonoma, which is roughly 5 hours from me, I decided not to go with Bossman. He's going to take his father with him, which I think is a perfect way for him to celebrate Fathers day! They are leaving Saturday night and won't be home until late Sunday. Therefore, I get to spend some time with my little man this weekend.

I hope you all have a great weekend!

gratitude Wednesday

I would just like to thank you all for your comments on my last post. You are all such wise people.

I'm a pretty forgiving person. A lot of you mentioned forgiving my father. Although in my mind, I've forgiven him, maybe my heart hasn't done the same.

I've been thinking it over quite a bit and I'm still unsure what I feel about the whole thing. A part of me would love to just forget about him and not deal with him anymore. Another part of me wants to keep in my life..."just in case". I'm not sure what the "just in case" is all about, but I feel like if I don't keep him in my life...I might be missing out on something.

Of course, the other part of me wants to keep the door open for my kids. Although they have never met him, he sends them cards and such, I would hate to shut that door on them. Maybe someday they would like to get to know their grandfather.

See, I grew up in an Army brat home. So we moved...ALOT! I never really had family around. It was just my mom, step dad, brother and sister. I had grandparents that visited once a year and that was IT! I never met my uncle, my cousins or any other family until I became an adult. I always wanted to have a big family. I think it's because I didn't have one. So, I don't want my kids to feel like they missed out on anything. (Ok, I'm just being a mother here, and chances are they could care less...)

Well, luckily my sis hasn't posted a whole bunch of stuff on Facebook. Maybe she knows I'll see it and won't like it. She's just been posting generic stuff like "she's just hanging with family and friends." She hasn't posted any pics or stuff, but I imagine, because I'm such a lurker and because I'm incredibly nosey, I'll look at them if she posts them.

Anyway, there isn't much gratitude in this post...so let's just get right to it!

Trees: I love trees! I love looking at them, taking pictures of them, sitting by them. They are majestic and I wish I could make them talk. I'm sure they have stories to tell.

Travel: I'm not a big traveller, but once I'm out there, I enjoy it. I only wish I could take my house with me everywhere we went. Then....travel would be PERFECT!

Talking: Talking is a great way to meet people. DUH!

Trains: I like trains by default. Bossman loves trains and has a miniature train in our garage. My grandfather worked for Southern Pacific for over 20 years. I guess trains were just meant to be in my life.

Telephones: How would we live without telephones? Or cell phones? I can't even imagine it!

Turkey: Well, Thanksgiving is the time for turkey and for gratitude so I LOVE turkey!

Tea: Iced Tea is lovely to drink on a hot day.

Well, if I want to post this before Wednesday is over, I better stop the list now.

Have a great day and don't forget to be grateful!

Excuse me while I sort out my feelings...

Long rambly post....if your not in the mood for that, please go visit one of my friends. You'll find them on my sidebar! Thanks!

I know that somewhere in my archives there is a post I wrote about my father. For those of you that can't remember, or are new, let me refresh your mind a little.

My father left my mother when I was about 5. My mom remarried when I was about 7 and I was raised by my step father. My step father abused me, but that's a different story for a different post.

My father was out of my life. I think he did time in prison. I know he was an alcoholic.

Fast forward thru my childhood....

I'm now married and am pregnant with my first child. That would make me around 22.

Until now, I haven't had any contact with my father. I don't remember him at all. When I was a teen, I went to the library and looked up his number in the phone book. I never told anyone that I did that....and I never called. Just knowing I had it was quite enough for me, thank-you-very-much.

My sister is four years younger than I. She decided to contact him. Without telling me. Not only does she contact him, she thinks it's a good idea to give him my phone number...again...without telling me!

So, I'm 22, I'm preggers and I get a phone call. "May I speak to Grace?" "Yes, this is Grace." (all the time thinking it's a telemarketer) "This is your father." (No, he didn't use the Darth Vader voice...although that would have been cool...LOL)

Without warning, I have a father. Weird.

I didn't know what to think about this event. The conversation was awkward and stiff. It wasn't anything like I had thought it would be. Maybe I watched too many reunion shows where everyone is all teary and crying and Oh-So-Happy to meet the long lost relative.

Whatever!

Since that fateful day we met once. He decided it would be great to come and visit me 4 weeks after my baby was born. Well, he visited my sister too. Again...weird and awkward.

Since then we have kept in touch via phone and cards. I should say, he keeps in touch and I...well, I send him a christmas card.

I'm sorry. I'm not really interested in this relationship. AND...I feel guilty about it. He's old now and he's had a lot of health troubles. He is kind enough to send us birthday cards, and he calls once in awhile. But you know what? He's a drama king! He'll make me feel guilty because I don't call and because I don't send him birthday cards. This is how a conversation will go:

Him: "How's things going?"
Me: "Great! Kids are great, Bossman is great, everyone is great. How are you?"
Him: "Well, I survived another birthday."
Me: "Oh yeah, well that's nice."
Him: " Yeah, I didn't see a card from you in the mail."

See, what I mean? I hate it! But I'm too nice of a person to say anything and I'm not brave enough to just tell him to bug off...because....

What if I don't want him to bug off?

Anyway, now he's moved to Arizona. Only 9 hours from me. He's only been there for about 3 weeks and my sister (God bless her) is there right now visiting him. ARRRRGGGGGG!!!!

I don't know why, but this pisses me OFF!

So, here's what happened this weekend. I get a call from Him wanting to know my sisters number because he wants to know what day she's arriving. THEN, he wants to know when I'm visiting. Uh, hello, I already told him we were buying a house and could not make any trips this summer. Then he tells me he can't handle a long drive so I'll have to come see him. Before I comment on that let me tell you one more thing. Yesterday, I get a text from my sister. She wants to know His address because she left it at him and he doesn't know she's showing up today instead of tomorrow and doesn't want to call him. Yeah, right.

Here's my comment on those two calls. First His. How does he have MY number and not hers when he talks to her more than me? Sure, lets say he lost her number in the move. Lost HER number and NOT mine? Most people keep the numbers in the same spot...so somehow I don't think he lost the number.

Not only that, but I think he was just trying to rub in the fact that my sister was coming to visit and why wasn't I coming to visit him...like he's a freaking king or something. (sheez, I'm getting all upset just typing this out....ACK!)

Now let's discuss my sisters text. First of all, who goes on a trip and leaves the address behind? Second, she texted me. She knows I don't answer my texts all the time because I have a home number and I don't use my phone when I'm at home. So if she really needed the address why didn't she call my house???? Again...trying to rub it in or WHAT???

The icing on the cake is this....I'm on facebook a lot. She's on facebook a lot. She's already left comments on there about her trip. Next thing she'll do is post pictures. Soooo, all week long, I'll have to see her updates on her stupid trip.

AND I'm NOT happy about it.

Now, let me throw this all out on the table.

Maybe I'm jealous. Could that be it? That could be it. Except....I don't think I want to be there. I know seeing him after 18 years would be awkward....I'm really interested in that. Or am I?

I just don't want to hear about this trip. I don't want to go visit him, but I want the option, should I ever change my mind.

Lastly, guess what this weekend is? Fathers day! Oh great, one more thing to feel guilty about. Except, I don't really feel guilty about this one. I mean he's not a father figure to me. So, why should I celebrate him? He was nothing but a sperm donor, in my eyes.

Or is he?

This post isn't really helping me sort through this, it's just pissing me off all over again. But it does help to write it all down.

So, if you actually made it to the end of this post, I thank you. This day has not been a good day for me. I think I'll try and work on my gratitudes. Maybe that will help me feel better.

Or not.

house update and friday fill ins

So, it looks like the house isn't in the cards. The sellers are really just being nit-picky and we aren't in the mood to dicker over a few thousand dollars. BUT, never fear...we aren't stupid. We've been looking at other houses and so we are going to try out an offer on another house. Same square footage, but bigger yards and bigger bedrooms. We knew going in it was going to be tough, so I can't get my hopes up on any of the houses that we put offers on.

Yesterday was the last day of school, so if you are reading this in the morning, chances are I'm still sleeping! I plan on sleeping nice and late tomorrow!

Have a great weekend and enjoy the fill-ins! I'd love for YOU to do the fill-ins...come on...it's really not that hard!

1. I grew up thinking I had to be a good girl.

2. Facebook was the last website I was at before coming here.

3. Why don't you try filling out the Friday fill-ins?

4. Bubble baths helps me relax.

5. Thanks for the well wishes on the house buying. I know we'll find something soon!
6. Getting spanked with the BS is very off-putting.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to relaxing at home, tomorrow my plans include going swimming at my Moms with my brother and nephew and son and Sunday, I want to head to the beach with the little man!

SSSSSSSSSSS

Blogging seems to be way down on the priority list these days. I forgot all about it until I stopped by today and realized it was Tuesday.

We made an offer on a house on Friday. They countered on Saturday. We countered back on Monday and NOW we are anxiously waiting to hear what the verdict is. We really like this house and although I'm trying not to get to excited about it, I will probably be disappointed if it doesn't go through. I KNOW, I shouldn't get so emotionally invested in it, but it's hard. It just seems like the perfect house for us. I suppose if we don't get it, then it wasn't meant to be, but still....

In other news, the D/D is still going strong here in Graceland. I'm not really sure how or why it's working, but for now it's working. One thing I know, I've been much more productive. Believe it or not, getting spanked for stuff you didn't do isn't nearly as fun as getting spanked for fun. Heh, who knew?

For those of you that like baseball, we went to the Dodger game on Friday. Oh my! It was a great game. Down the whole game, last inning we were down by one...two outs...full count, bases loaded. Someone (don't ask me names...LOL) hit the ball into right field, two runners in...we win by one! YAY Dodgers! In more exciting news, for those of you that could care less about baseball, we saw Larry King. Surprisingly enough, Larry King looks just like Mr. Burns, from the Simpsons. I kept cracking myself up all night by calling him Mr. Burns! We also saw Ron Howard. He was walking right in front of us. The wildchild yelled, "HEY Ron Howard!" He turned and pointed right at her, at which she yelled "Ron Howard just pointed at me!" To which everyone in the crowd cracked up! Of course the best part of the night is when the crowd boo'd ME! That's right...they boo'd me. See the beach ball was right over my head and I hit it out of reach of the crowd. Everyone around us boo'd. My daughter said it was a total party foul...whatever that means...LOL

So, that's what going on in my world. Oh yeah, today is gratutide tuesday, so I guess I should make my list of S's!

Sex...that's a given..right?
Sports: It wouldn't be the same in my house if there wasn't a sport on TV. Not that I enjoy watching them all the time....
sand: I love the beach and the warm sand between my toes is just one of the reasons I love the beach so much.
slippers: cold night + cold feet = slippers!
soul mate: You probably guessed my soul mate is Bossman.
spring: Everything blooms and grows and is fresh and new. Spring is wonderful
slaps: Slaps to my bottom warm my heart.
summer: Thursday is the last day of school. Summer vacation is great because I get to sleep in. Although I admit I will be doing the happy dance when school starts again!

That's it! I managed to get my list out before Tuesday is over! Keep your fingers crossed about the house! K? Thanks!

Friday fill-ins and house update

1. We are putting an offer on a home, today!

2. My favorite thing for dinner lately has been tacos.

3. Odie says bark! bark! bark!

4. A nice long walk makes the stress less noticeable.

5. Next week I hope to hear some good news. (That we got our house!)

6. When all is said and done, I could live in a cardboard box and still be happy, as long as Bossman is with me!

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to going to the Dodger game, tomorrow my plans include sleeping in and Sunday, I want to hang out at the cafe and listen to Bossman's band perform for the first time!

So yeah, in case you didn't catch my big fat hint in the fill ins, we are putting an offer in on a house today. It's beautiful and it's big and it's going to be our first house purchase! I'm excited and scared! I was excited about this house and then once they said we were signing some papers to make an offer, I got all freaked out. Sure this house is great, but what about the house I may see tomorrow?

I know, stupid things to think. This house has everything we could want and more. It's twice the size of the house we live in now. BUT, we've lived in this house so long (8 years) that I keep thinking of all the things I'll miss.

I know, it's just stress. It's not like we are moving far away. We are merely moving a few miles down the road. The little man will still attend the same schools. Everything will be fine.

So wish us luck! Here's hoping they accept the offer!

Oh yeah, and GO Dodgers!!!!!

Opposite yet the same?

I know today is the R's, but I'm not really in the R mood. I thought instead, that I would be grateful for Bossman instead.

Actually, I'm grateful for Bossman every day. Everyday I marvel that the man still loves me. I'm in awe that he wants to put up with my stresses and problems and all the other things that come with loving someone. How I managed to get so lucky, I will never know. But.....lucky I am!

So, I know I've been hinting around that Bossman has taken a very strong interest in the whole d/d aspect of spanking. I've tried for weeks to write about it, but frankly, I can't seem to write anything worth publishing. I have numerous drafts that I started to write, but none of them fully conveyed how I truly feel.

Which brings me to the question....how do I feel about the whole thing?

Good question! And although it's a pretty straight forward question, the answer is not at all easy to answer.

Recently Amber shed some light on the core reason why this is so hard to explain, or maybe for me, it's the reason why I am having a hard time talking about it. As she said "I think at least part of the problem is that many people lack the ability to hold two opposing beliefs at the same time. How can Dan think of me as a stupid little slut and yet revere me as his wife? And how can I abase myself and find pleasure in kneeling at his feet and yet know that I'm a total bad-ass in my own right?

These beliefs are opposites yet they are both true. True and not true."

Now, I don't think Bossman thinks of me as a stupid little slut. ;) But the core of the statement is true. How can Bossman think of himself as the head of the household, yet, still see me as an equal? How can I, allow myself to be spanked by him, allow him to take charge of me, but still consider myself a strong, powerful, almighty, Woman? How can I say that our marriage is based on equality if we consider one of us as the "head" of the family?

Opposite points and yet, both true! (Thanks Amber!)

So I find myself trying to explain how my husband has taken to spanking me when I get lazy and don't fulfill my end of the bargain. How when I threw a hissy fit in the car because I didn't think we should drive around the block again...that night he decided to spank me for attitude.

AND, how do I explain how I find our relationship getting better for it? How I find me, personally, changing into something better.

Even though most of you reading this will get exactly what I'm saying and even though, that's what this blog has been about for 5 years, I still find it hard to talk about. Now that it's officially happening, it feels weird. It seems like before was all just a game. Something we did for the fun of it. It never had meaning. Now....well, now it's just different.

And I can't explain it.

But, I can explain how grateful I am for Bossman. I am grateful that he has taken on this challenge and that he is willing to put up with me! I couldn't possible imagine a life without him.

Can I ask for more than that? I could, but I don't want to be selfish! ;)

a wonderful gift.

11 years ago today, at 5:35pm, I received the best gift. This gift was something I had hoped for and dreamed about.

This gift was 7lbs and 7oz and was 20 inches long.

This gift was my little man.

My little man isn't so little anymore. He's 5'2 and around 110 pounds.

He's smart, funny and very absent-minded. I've taken to calling him the absent-minded professor. He'd forget to breath if it didn't come naturally!

He's a red-head...so he has a fiery temper. But he's incredibly sensitive and caring. He is an animal lover but cats are his favorite.

My son is everything a mother could hope for. When he was a baby he had Winnie the Pooh for his theme in his room. I know he's getting too old for such things, but this song reminds me of him every time I hear it!

Happy birthday Little man! Mom loves you very much!

Friday Fill-ins

And...here we go!

1. It's cold and cloudy today.

2. BLT's would not be good without tomatoes.

3. My favorite health and beauty product is Olay complete all day moisture lotion.

4. Last weekend Bossman and I took a nice long ride.

5. Well, first of all, I did NOT have an attitude! And second of all, you should NOT have spanked me for it.

6. Bossman and I; those were the cast of characters in a recent dream and it was HOT.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to hanging out with the little man, tomorrow my plans include having a birthday party for the little man and Sunday, I want to lay around and do NOTHING!

Gratitude Wednesday and an Update

Ok, so I missed Tuesday. 3 day weekends tend to throw me off and so I forgot that yesterday was Tuesday.

So, it may be a day late, but I'm always grateful no matter what the day.

Today is the Q's.

Quiet: I love my time alone. I love the quietness. I don't get much of that these days and I miss it terribly!

Quarters: I love that 4 make a dollar! Who doesn't like money?

Quilts: Warm quilt, hot chocolate, and a cozy fire...too bad winter is over.

Quiver: Bossman makes me quiver.

Quickie: Quickies are a great way to reconnect when time is short.

Well, I guess that is all I can think of right now. Q's are hard!

~spanking update~

So, spankings are alive in my house. Bossman has been more interested in pursuing the d/d aspect of our relationship. He's been spanking more for attitude and for things that I have promised to do and didn't do and stuff like that.

It's hard to put it into words. All along spanking has been part of me and how I'm wired, but it's never really been serious in our relationship. I've never taken it too seriously because whenever I did I would end up disappointed that things didn't work the way I wanted them to work.

Nothing like "topping" from the "bottom"...LOL

I really have been trying to put this all out on a post, but as usual, life has stepped in. I haven't been able to spend a lot of time on the computer. Whenever I do, I seem to be playing catch up on emails and such. AND...now that we are looking for a house, I've been spending lots of time looking for houses.

So, I'm sorry for the lack of posts. I will be back. I just don't know when. I feel like I have a lot to say, but I can't get it all out.

I hope you all are doing well. I miss you guys!

HUGS!

Friday fill-ins

This week has been CRAZY!

I don't know if I've mentioned this before, but my son...the little man...he's the absent-minded Professor! This past week, we've had to re-do half of his school work that he either lost or didn't do. This kid is a honor-roll student and yet he was getting D's in some of his work because he LOST some of the stuff. I gave him money for a picture pack that they took at school......he lost it! I helped him with a report...he left it in his room. Two days this week I've had to drive him back to school because he forgot something he needs!

Normally, I let him suffer the consequences, but we are talking end of the year grades, so I couldn't just let this stuff go.

Needless to say, I've had to do 5th grade homework ALL week! I'm so glad it's a 3 day weekend!

Hopefully I'll have more time to write next week.....

Until then, enjoy my Friday Fill-ins and have a great weekend!

1. Moving to a new house, is in my future.

2. I like things that are free.

3. My best quality is being practical, which also drives Bossman crazy.

4. I need all the details. Otherwise I will stress over them.

5. In nearly 10 years, I'll be 50 and fabulous.

6. Motivation is what I need right now!

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to catching up on all my shows, tomorrow my plans include spending the day with Bossman as the kids all have plans elsewhere and Sunday, I want to go look at houses! Did I mention that Bossman and I are buying our first home?

Peter did what??

I decided to post a story I wrote on October 10, 2006. This was what I used for Gratitude Tuesday and I enjoy it so much I thought I'd post it again.

I really am trying to write a decent post. I promise...I have written some words and everything. I promise, I will post it soon! Until then...enjoy my blast from the past....

Today is Gratitude Tuesday! In celebration of P I wrote a little story. Enjoy!

Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers. Peter Piper privately peered over the peppers and saw Pattie. Pattie poked her pert patooty playfully out. Pattie was predominately a party girl, but Peter was a party pooper. Peters palm itched to paddle Patties patooty. Peter predicted Pattie would protest. But Peter persisted. Pattie was placed over Peters pickle barrel. Patties piercing protest was heard practically every place. Pattie professed her purity but Peter persisted. Peters paddle popped Patties patooty plenty. Peter pronounced Patties patooty perfect. Suddenly Peters package poked partially out. After Peter paddled Pattie, Peter poked Pattie with his penis. Peter and Pattie produced Peggy and Patrick.

Peter purposely paddled Patties patooty patiently, particularly pouncing on problems that plagued Pattie. Peter and Pattie were pleasantly pleased with their peculiar predicament. Their permanent pleasure was pleasing to all parties.

Peter and Pattie lived happily ever after.

Only one question remains...

If Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers, where's the peck of pickled peppers Peter Piper picked?

Other P's that I just love:
Penis
packages
pens
plans
penguins
power
penetration
paddles
ponds
plays
programs
pencils
plans
planets
powder
plants
pure
prizes
privacy
people
party

P's I'm not so fond of:
poop
pimples
pricks
porcupines
pennies (they just annoy me..OK?)

New toy and friday fill-ins

I've been trying to write a decent post and nothing seems to be working. Things are good with us and Bossman has really decided to push the d/d. I just can't seem to write down my feelings. I guess I need to process them more before I can share them with you guys.

Until then, I wanted you to see the "toy" that Bossman came home with. I am always surprised when he shows an interest in spanking. It's going to take me some time to get used to the fact that he is now interested and it's more than just a passing phase. So I was quite surprised when he came home with these.....

As you can see, I put the remote between them, so you can understand fully how BIG those are.

They are thin wood, so I have a feeling they will make quite a noise when used. I will report exactly how they work when we get a chance to use them. Until then, let's all just stare at them....

Ok, on to Friday fill-ins. According to the website these are quotes having to do with spring. I will make them my own.

1. If we had no winter I would miss hearing all my friends complain about the snow.

2. My life is a perpetual astonishment.

3. If I had my life to live over I would go to college.

4. I will be bouncing in a bounce house inside of four and twenty hours.

5. If you've never been thrilled you've never had kids.

6. To be interested in the changing seasons you'd have to live somewhere where the seasons actually change.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to having the youth group at our house, tomorrow my plans include celebrating the little angels 2nd birthday and Sunday, I want to hug Bossman and the wildchild when they get home from the races!

Everyone have a great weekend!

O my!

Let's see....

What O things do I like?

Ocean: I love the Ocean, I would hate not living near it. It's a place of great reflection. I tend to remember how very small I am when I am standing by the ocean. Feeling small is not always a bad thing. Feeling small helps keep perspective on lifes problems. It helps to know that my problems may not be as big as I make them.

Orange juice: I don't like coffee, so I love my orange juice. It's like starting the day with a glass of sunshine!

Orgasms: Does this need an explanation?

Octopus: I could really use 8 arms sometimes.

On button:
How would we function if things didn't have an On button?

Ordinary: Ordinary people, ordinary house, ordinary car, these things make me comfortable.

On top: I'll have whipped cream on top, please!

online: I am so grateful to be online and be able to meet new people and to be able to connect with family and friends in a way that I never could before.

Well, the O's are fun but I am tired...so I will end it here.

Stay tuned. I think I'm ready to discuss the changes that have come into play in our relationship. Not only that, but you will NOT believe the "toy" that Bossman bought at the store the other day. We haven't used it yet...but YIKES! I'll post a picture of it soon!

Have a grateful day!

Friday-fill ins!

Thank you all for your wonderful birthday wishes! The day was great! My family came over for dinner and cake and they all gave me wonderful gifts. If you didn't read the comments from yesterday...here's what Bossman wrote.

"I wonder if Grace will mention that I made her blush tonight by putting in her birthday card that I owed her a birthday spanking. I think it was quite embarrassing for her to open that in front of her family looking at her. I got a kick out of it!!"

YES, it's true. He did right that in my birthday card and I think I turned 5 shades of red. It suddenly got very very hot in the room. Luckily, I didn't read that part aloud and I said the card was too mushy for them to read. As soon nobody was looking, I took that card and hid it under the presents, so nobody would try and read it. It was embarrassing, but the best part of the night. I loved it!

Well, that's it. I'm 41. Somehow I never thought I'd be in my 40's and here I am, 41. It's ok though....so far, so good!

On to Friday fill-ins!

1. Apples are to oranges as Facebook is to Myspace.

2. All backscratchers need to be burned and that's all I have to say about that.

3. I think I hear the left over birthday cake calling.

4. Proudly wave your American flag.

5. Do what you want to do, but suffer the consequences, if you don't do your chores.

6. Bossman came home and behind him was a Radio Flyer wagon; in the wagon was a bucket filled with backscratchers. (Grace took them in the back yard and burned them!)

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to hanging at the house, tomorrow my plans include going to garage sales and Sunday, I want to sleep in!

Have a great weekend!

2nd anniversary of my 39th birthday

Yes, today is the day. The day I turn 41. How did this happen? Last time I checked I was only 25.

Remember when you were little and you couldn't wait to grow up? Now that your a grown up, time goes by so fast, doesn't it?

Oh well....enough about me...did anyone see this on the news last night?

I know it's not uplifting or anything. I know things are just horrible over there right now...but that is not why I posted it.

I posted it because....well....how often do you see a story on the news about a place called Swat Valley and a video of a woman being flogged?

I wish instead of everyone fleeing, they could all go back to Swat Valley and flog the Taliban.

Yes, that would be my birthday wish. Along with world peace and d/d as a welcome form of life.

That, and I wish I could buy a valley and name it Swat Valley. And the only women flogged there, are the women that WANT to be flogged!

Today, I am grateful for birthdays and I'm grateful to live in the land of the free and the home of the brave!

Brought to you by the letter N

I know that I've been leaving a lot of "fluff" posts just to fill up space. I am sorry for that. It seems that I've lost a little bit of blogging mojo. I feel like I've been saying the same things over and over again and it's getting rather boring. I can't seem to think of anything remotely interesting to talk about.

Of course, I could talk about how the spanking mojo has returned to my house. I mean, this IS classified as a spanking blog, even if I don't talk about it that much any more. But, I feel like if I start talking about it, it will disappear as quickly as it appeared. It seems like that happens a lot when it comes to spanking. It seems like the moment I get excited about it, we lose it.

So, I won't talk about that now. I think I'll wait and see what happens with it.

Ok, you twisted my arm...I'll talk about it a little.

I'm still trying to process how I feel about it. Bossman seems to be taking more of an interest in what is going on around here. He also is taking more of an interest in my moods. So, he's been in more of a spanking mood when things aren't going the way they should.

And so far, it's going pretty good.

I like that he's taking more time to pay attention to me. It's not that he hasn't paid attention, but it's more that he just hasn't paid attention...like that. You know what I mean?

Instead of just getting mad when I'm not in a decent mood, he decides to change my mood. AND, instead of letting me get away with playing on the computer all day, he decides to give me some incentive to stay OFF my butt and get some stuff done.

Did I mention...I like it?

I may not like the actually spankings...yes, they do hurt! But I like that he is taking the time to bend me over his knee and remind me who's in charge.

Oh yes, I like it alot!

But anyway, I said I wasn't going to talk about it. So...

Let's change subjects.

D is in a hospital in Texas right now. She's at one of the top cancer hospitals in the nation and is hoping they will be able to treat her cancer with the lastest and greatest stuff they have! Everybody keep your fingers crossed that they will figure out a treatment plan that will give her a fighting chance!

Well, time for the N's! Everyone please take time out to be thankful today. It doesn't have to be N's, it can just be for life! Isn't life worth being thankful for?

Nests
nipples
naked
noses
naps
napkins
nectarines

Wow, N words are hard! I'm anxious to see what other words you all can come up with!

Tell me your N's and Have a grateful day!

Funny story and Friday fill-ins

Welcome to Friday!

Yesterday my daughter and I went out to lunch together. Ok, first we went grocery shopping and then, as a treat, we went to lunch. We were having a great time. We were laughing and joking around and telling funny stories. My daughter has a wicked sense of humor. She makes me laugh, a lot!

While we were waiting for our food, one of the waitresses walked by and said we were having entirely too much fun. We just laughed some more and continued talking.

We had a great time scoping out the hotties, (which is apparently what you do when out with your 18 year old daughter) and talking about life. There was a table of firemen behind me, so I couldn't see them, but my daughter had a great view. As we were eating and enjoying ourselves, one of the guys got up to go to the bathroom. He had to pass our table on the way. On his way back, he stopped at our table and asked if he buy us a drink!

That's right people, he wanted to buy us a drink! I politely declined, as our meal was almost over and we had no need for another drink. I KNOW what your all thinking and I've gotta tell ya...it wasn't some hot young guy after my daughter...Nope, this guy was probably my age.

There are three ways to think about it. Either he was after me, he was a perv, after my daughter, or he was just a nice guy. I think he saw us having a good time and was just being nice to us.

Really, it doesn't matter what his reason was. He MADE my day! We laughed like crazy when we got in the car and I called Bossman to tell him that I still GOT IT!

Of course, Bossman already knew that!

Well, that's all I've got, but please, feel free to join me with the Friday fill-ins.
Have a great weekend!

1. The first rule of working in an office and getting along is getting spanked by the hot boss! Or, be like me and stay home!

2. I do not like clams, unless they are making pearls.

3. When I think of carnivals I think of spending lots of money.

4. Roses are my favorite spring flower.

5. Things on my desk include, pictures, a plant, some diecast cars and my computer.

6. Music makes me wanna dance.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to hanging out at home, tomorrow my plans include going out to dinner with friends and Sunday, I want to watch movies!
